This is Cracker Jack candy as I remember from my youth.
I did dock one star because the "prize" inside is now a real disappointment. Yes, I remember reading some years ago that they were no longer including a real toy, but had not realized until now just how chintzy they are. Included in the box is basically a printed piece of paper that directs you to a phone app game. For us nostalgia buffs, a tiny whistle would be preferred 100 time over. Yes, I am aware of the choking hazard and the extra cost, but come on, I would far rather pay 5-10 cents more and have the fun.
I bought this case of boxes and took most of them to the local senior center. They were quite a hit there.
These are my go to snack I am diabetic and these satisfy my occasional sugar craving without elevating my glucose levels this is my third purchase very fresh when open package not stale no after taste just great.
I was happy to see that I could purchase one of childhood pleasures --- in bulk!!! How handy to get a box of 25 at once. Tastes just like the crackers jacks I ate as a child. It would be nice if they could be a little more original with the "prizes". At least as a child, we never knew what we would get - as in, we would usually get something different everytime. Not the case with these.
Used as a trade show handout in Europe. Brought 5 cases with me, got rid of them all. Was a big hit explaining them as a classic American snack. Will buy these again in the future.

Okay, I admit, I'm hooked on these things. Have reordered a couple times. As I ate more boxes, I find the number of peanuts per box (the real "prize") is highly variable. Minimum has been two, maximum once was fifteen! Average is five to seven. I added another star.
This review is definitely biased. Not because I have anything to do with Amazon or whatever company makes the product, it's just that I love me some cracker jack. Pretty much any caramel pop corn, really, but this here is Cracker Jack! "toy surprise inside" is a joke, of course, being modern times but nothing like some artificially sweetened pop corn when you're in the mood for sugary goodness. Plus I tell myself that it's popcorn, so how bad can it be?
I bought a case of the cardboard box Cracker Jack last time, then found these little bags, which are slightly bigger by weight (more for your money) with less waste (not less waist, because of all the corn syrup and sugar).
The first case of these didn't last in my household.
Everyone seems to love em, I still like them, but I don't know if they changed from the original recipe of my childhood, because I do remember them tasting a lot better.
I didn't notice any of the complaints of the other reviewers.
I just orderd another two cases, and I'll definitely be ordering again.

PS: Another update: These smaller Cracker Jack bags i received had way too many popcorn "skins" that were not easily edible. i had bought a bigger bag which i ate on my video as is was perfectly fine. So, i guess there is a difference, but how can you tell ahead of time?
Cracker Jack was a childhood treat. Even though the box is smaller than it use to be, the sound made by shaking the box was still the same. When I opened the box, the smell was just as I remembered. The box is now sealed with a liner which means the Cracker Jack are fresh tasting. Most important of all, it tasted just like I remembered: sweet and crunchy. As a side note the toy surprise was a sticker which was a little bit disappointing compared to the ring or a little book I remembered getting, but I guess things change after 50 years.
