My package arrived last night and I took a small taste of the syrup from the bottle cap. My eyes widened in shock because it was so good. But, the real test was this morning: this maple syrup over blueberry pancakes. I took my first bit and literally said, "Oh, my God!"

I am a food snob. I'd choke down dry pancakes or French toast before I'd eat "pancake syrup". I only eat pure maple syrup. This is, hands down, the best I've ever tasted in my life. If I ran a restaurant, this is what I would serve. It's also a wonderful price for the size.

I wish I could rate this ten stars.

We were looking for maple syrup which would not kill our wallet at the same time.

This syrup came in a plastic container fashioned like a jug. We opened it and tried it. It's delicious and it's what you expect from a quality maple syrup producer. To keep ours "fresh" and from spoiling, we store ours in the freezer. Yes, you read that right. Quality maple syrup will NOT freeze in a regular freezer. It may become somewhat thicker but will not freeze. If it does, then you have a product which more than likely containes water. True, 100% maple syrup, like this one, does not have any water in it.

First time trying this brand and it is a tasty maple syrup. Yum!
First taste is maple candied notes like a maple lollipop. Second taste, Sweetness like a child in a candy
store when you just can’t get enough. Then there is a smooth maple flavor. This is real maple syrup.

I used it again in my morning bullet coffee(collagen peptides, a2 or Veda ghee, brain octane mct, & maple
syrup) Yum! I will also use for my next master cleanse.
I used it in my homemade fig, date and nut bars - raw not cooked.
And then tried it in a maple martini, delicious. I recommend this if you enjoy a sweeter maple syrup.
I always opt for the dark robust maple syrups.

For years I’ve bought Many organic brands, McLure’s of Littleton NH - yummy! And so many others.
Keep in mind each year the sap season can be different from the previous. Which is why I tend to try new brands
and compare to what I have on hand.
Currently in my refrigerator was a Canadian maple syrup (log cabin on can) which was
grade A light with a sweetness that was like a light colored maple candies. This Butternut mountain
farm maple syrup was sweeter. Tasty but I truly love dark robust maple syrups.

Note: Grade A Dark Color, Robust Flavor has 24 Different Antioxidants which seems
like a great source of antioxidants but keep in mind the sugar level - can be frozen, refrigerated
or left unopened for a year.

BPA-free plastic jugs according to their facility.

On the website it states they mostly use sugar maples which have the highest sugar content.
Could be why their syrup has such candied sweetness.

After living in New England for a while, I definitely got spoiled with out of this world maple syrup. So, now that I'm no longer living in New England, I've been struggling to find a maple syrup that even remotely acceptable. I've tried countless brands, but I believe I've finally found 'the one.'

For anyone who has ever lived up north, you know that super dark syrup is the way to go! I've actually been known to use Grade B syrup! While this particular syrup does not compare to the locally sourced, super dark syrup I fell in love with, it does have a nice robust flavor with subtle complexity. It has a rich maple flavor that will satisfy all but the most discerning palates.

While this is not the amber gold I crave, it is an excellent maple syrup that is 100% pure and organic! It's fairly priced and since I get it via subscribe-and-Save, I never run out. Until I find a good maple sugar company that ships by the gallon, this is going to be my go-to syrup. In fact, even after I start ordering direct form the sugar bush, I will probably keep this on hand for family and guests who don't like the intense flavor of my beloved maple sugar!

I purchased both grade versions just to see if I could taste any difference between the two. I also found out I didn't need to pour as much of this on pancakes or waffles as I did with the imitation types. The maple flavor of either grade is wonderful - it's just a matter of preference of color, sweetness, and thickness.

The grade 'A' is lighter in color, thinner in consistency, and not as sweet as the grade 'B' version. -

Just my opinion here - If you like the thicker style of syrups, with darker color and a bit sweeter in taste you might enjoy the grade 'B' better as I do... as I said before, they both taste very good and it's just a matter of preference.

Update 3-10-15) - Vermont has updated the grading system of 'pure' maple syrup to help consumers with the different types and lessen some confusion - all are reflected as "grade A" - instead of using grades "A, B,& C" .

This syrup is delicious. I had been buying Ben's Sugar Shack grade A syrup but decided to try this because of the price. Ben's was $11.50 for a 16 ounce bottle while this is $14.94 for a quart, a great price! The Ben's Sugar Shack syrup might have tasted a little better than this but for the price, Butternut Mountain Farms can't be beat!

Costco switched from medium amber to "organic" dark amber so I had to find a new source for the milder flavor of medium amber, that I prefer. Maple syrup, from the tree is almost water and must be reduced 40 or 50 to 1 to make syrup. There are laws on how much it must be reduced to sell it, to protect the consumer from watery syrup. The Vermont standard is higher than the federal one so you are assured of getting a better product. Most of the maple syrup comes from Canada in spite of label names to suggest otherwise.
Maple syrup comes from big old trees that I doubt are fertilized. The syrup is boiled down to the required concentration and then filtered to remove any sugar crystals that might have formed, that would make it gritty. I can't imagine what would make any syrup organic. This is nice syrup.

Has a lighter, sweeter, candy-like taste than the more robust darker maple. Either will do as they both have that unforgettable fresh alive maple taste than the DEAD taste of non-maple syrups made with HF corn syrup. There is NO comparison. Tried them side by side.

The second one I received had a "Best by" date more than 2 years old. I opened it up and it still tasted all right but putting it in the refrigerator just in case. DEDUCTED one star for this.

I use in place of sugar in my coffee. Taste great. I also use on my Brown Rice Pancakes as well. That other stuff they sell in stores is Corn Syrup. The reason our next generation is overweight. Cut that crap out of your diet and use the real deal. It cost more but 7 bucks less on Amazon. Enjoy!

I use maple syrup to sweeten most anything I need to sweeten; smoothies, turmeric milk, coffee creamers, my favorite granola/cereal recipe and protein bars. This one has a nice maple flavor without being overly maple. Makes everything taste pleasantly sweet. My latest shipment arrived with a broken cap. It shipped packaged only in a bubble pack envelope. Others have been boxed. The seal was intact, so I plan to take the cap from my previous bottle when it is empty.
