This is a low priced kit which conveniently packs most of what is needed for a remote car amp. The bad news is that it is not really high performance as advertised, and the fuse is mismatched to the wire. The 8 GA battery wire and 16 Ga speaker wire figures are completely misleading. Based on diameter the "8 GA" is closer to 12 GA. Also the wire looks silver when cut, which means it is CCA. So you are probably getting less than 12 GA performance. A 50A fuse should not be used with 12GA wire and I ordered a 25A fuse to keep it realistic. This can feed a 400W amp but that's about it. Similarly the speaker wire is about half the cross section of true 16 GA wire, so I doubled up the speaker wire and soldered them together. Four stars for the low price and convenience of an all-in-one kit. Should be 3 stars for the unsafe fuse and feed wire combo. Also the wire does not fit snugly into the fuse block even though it's designed to be water tight. So you will need to do something like silicone around the entrance to keep it waterproof.
easy to install. Plenty of Red wire but the black 8 gauge fell a little short. I did however manage to find a decent ground inside the cabin of the truck I installed my powered subwoofer. Not my ideal place I'd like to have the ground attached to but it seems to do the trick without any heating issues to the wire or the amp. Inline fuse is very nice. Gives you 50 amps of leeway. My amp demands 25amps. So that gives me plenty of space for current to run though. This kit came with everything I ever need. Tie downs. Connectors, the fuse. Speaker wire. Remote amp wire to the stereo. Its a one stop kit to get your feet off the ground.
You get what you pay for and I knew that going into this deal. The wire is defiantly NOT a 4 gauge wire, at least not in this country. But that is why I bought the 4 gauge wire because I needed an 8 gauge wire so after reading all the reviews I knew that the wire was small so that is why I bought the 4 gauge. It is still a little small even for an 8 gauge wire but it will work perfectly for what I need.
I purchased this kit for my 17 Year old Honda. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a kit that is not reusable. At $10 this was practically disposable.
Kits are nice but they are not made specific for your vehicle. In my case (I own a 1999 Honda CR-V EX). I had to go to the local electrical supply and pick up some terminals so i can properly attach the wire to my battery terminal (The big one provided is to big. The small one is to small). While i was there i grabbed a few more things. I got what i feel was a better grommet, and Zip ties. I used T-Tap instead of the closed end connectors provided. (For you V owners there is no dedicated cable to power on the amp. I tapped the cigarette lighter which is powered on after you switch your ignition to Accessories)
I also wasn't happy with the RCA heads. They are really thick which makes it hard to slide it between the trim in the car,. They really should have made at least one side as thin as possible.
I purchased this product for my '99 Camaro Z28 SS. I basically used everything in the kit, there are a few things that I wasn't too fond of, but... for the price and what you get I wasn't bothered at all by it.
The Power wire was just the right length, but it seems that they could make them maybe a foot longer? I was really fighting to ensure I had enough room to run one single wire rather than crossing 2. The mount for the fuse (that goes to the engine compartment) one of the plastic mounts broke loose. I was really hoping for a perfect installation, but now I have to get another fuse holder when I have a chance. I honestly didn't need the speaker wire, I had 14 gauge wiring that I was planing on using. A few of the Zip ties had the Zip part missing so I couldn't use a few of them to Zip my wires, however they do give you quite a few so I wasn't really too upset.
These above things wouldn't hinder me on getting this kit again. It worked great and was the right price.
I used this kit to install a single Kicker 10" Sub w/a 400W amp in a nook box at the rear of the Camaro. Thanks Boss! : o)

Description
8 Gauge amplifier installation kit includes:
The wires all seem pretty high quality, and you even get the RCA cables with this kit as well. Knocking a star for the super short length of the grounding wire, which was actually a bit too short to reach from the front of my trunk to the common grounding bolt in the back, as well as the very cheap fuse holder. It actually cracked and broke the first time I tried to use it, so I had to order another one. Still, the kit wasn't expensive, and the wires are doing their jobs.
The wires and fuse holders are legit. I don't have spare 8 ga. wire on hand to compare it to, but I've done more than a couple amp installs. At no point during the install did I say "Hmmm... this isn't 8ga wire!" cause if it isn't it's ridiculously close to it. And they give you plenty of said wire. And a good quality fuse and holder. Also included are speaker wire, RCA signal wire, and remote power on wire. I thought the remote was very thin, but I can understand why you would cut a corner there. It's not like it is coming under load, or doing anything strenuous. And the kit comes with chafing gear(plastic tube / case that slip around a wire to keep it from wearing out) for the power (or ground I suppose). The only thing I could look for complaints on are that the connectors (o rings, and butt connectors) are a little lame. But you should be having plenty of these on hand anyways. Or solder and heat shrink. Honestly, for your money you won't find a better kit. I will definitely buy this again. Honestly though guys if you want the best kit with double shielded wire, and speaker wire that is double insulated and 12 ga. then get that. Cause you probably won't be happy if you settle for anything less. And this is not that. But if you want to wire your amp and speakers with a good kit and get the best bang for your buck, this is for you. And I've been down both roads, their is not a big difference. Please save your money and get better equipment.
I bought this kit to install a mono sub amp in my truck. It came with plenty of positive power wire, but ground wire was pretty short. I understand you just need to ground to the nearby body, but sometimes need to go a ways to find a good connection. I ended up using the full length of the ground wire. Fuse box seems sufficient for my needs and like another buyer mentioned, the price of this whole kit is what you might pay at the store just for the fuse box. So worth it just for that, plus get all the other misc connectors that you might need.
One issue I have is that might batter has side flush threaded holes were the vehicle harness connects. No studs. This kit does not include any connectors for such a battery. It only has ring connectors for use with batters that have threaded studs.
The main power cables are very flexible. I hope the insulation holds up against any abrasion. Make sure to well protect the wire between the battery and the fuse. A short between the battery and vehicle chassis is bad news. I know this from experience of an installation I did in my 20s. Lot's of smoke and engine sputters to a halt instantly.
This kit did the trick for my son's 1999 Dodge Ram. We put in a 100watt self powered sub. (Kicker) It is 10 guage so that is good enough for 100watts. Make sure you but a thick enough wire for your setup. (This wouldn't work for a 400watt sub for example) The wire was easy to strip and was long enough to run to the backseat of the truck cab. In some cases you have to change the fuse to match your setup. (google is the best bet to determine this)
This was everything you'll need, save for the tools, to install a powered sub or amp. My install was on a pontoon boat and went well - has cable for either line level input (RCA cable) or tapping in to existing speakers. I wish the ground cable had been a bit longer but to be fair this is the max length recommended.
