Fantastic kit. I also ordered the Weihenstephan Wyeast 3068 yeast directly from Northern Brewer as well and used that with this kit instead of the Danstar yeast that comes with it. Very vigorous fermentation so be sure to use a large diameter blow-of tube. I started with a 3/8 blow-off tube while fermenting at 67 degrees and had a huge Krausen explosion. Blew the stopper out of the carboy. Changed out the blow off tube to 1 1/4 and it was fine.
Overall taste was spot on with many Hefeweizen's I have had over the years. Just follow the directions and you will be enjoying a nice Hefeweizen of your own. Highly recommend this kit.
A great beginner's beer recipe, and being a beginner it was great. I have since gone hard in the paint with all grain, but for someone that isn't as obsessive as me, extract brewing is an easy way to brew good beer for $.50 a beer. I added some lemon zest, because why not.
