Arlo Pro by NETGEAR Add-on Security Camera – Add-on Rechargeable Wire-Free HD Camera with Audio, Indoor/Outdoor, Night Vision (VMC4030) [Existing Arlo System required] (Renewed)

Refurbished camera operates as it should.
Overall, my Arlo experience has been excellent. I know others have reported less than stellar results so maybe I've been lucky. But, I've experienced easy, quick setup and flawless performance. I suspect some of the problems reported are due to user error and, in that regard, the Arlo "programming" routines and sub -routines are sometimes confusing and not intuitive. But, once you get it to work, it's great.

I received my Arlo Pro ahead of the delivery schedule. It was packaged nicely/professionally even though it is refurbished & came with charging/mounting accessories. I already have 3 Arlo cameras from before and wanted to add an additional camera and read that the Arlo Pro worked more efficiently than the Arlo 2. I struggled the first night setting it up (otherwise a very fast system to set up). I had placed it in a window which prohibited the motion device, so I ended up mounting it outside (and I do purchase the silicon skins to protect my devices) with the suggestion of Tech support and it works beautifully now (tech support wait time was less than 2 minutes on a Sunday afternoon/PST). At first, the camera appeared to have a glitch with a constant flashing, so I removed the battery and reinserted it and it was fine. Tech support was able to remote into my cameras to test whether it was getting Wifi, optimized settings, signals, etc. which was very helpful in figuring out where I was having my issue. Video is in color; it records sounds excellently; AND has a mic which I haven't accessed yet. All added features can be customized or turned off altogether (i.e., sound). In trying to set up my Pro, I watched a few Arlo videos which introduced me to the "MODE" tab option which then allowed me to access ALL my cameras in customizing my cameras better than just going straight into DEVICE tab. Not confirmed, but I think the MODE overrides any settings that you would do to your device if you go directly into DEVICE tab. Select MODE tab, then select your BASE, then click on your cameras individually & SAVE. Having accessed the MODE, ALL my cameras are now working much better. I get email alerts (which is set under MODE & can be turned off if you wish). I have had my Arlo system since 2016 and with my new addition, can't beat the price and reliability of the device. However, I do clean the lenses periodically for optimum motion detection. I do like that the Arlo Pro is rechargeable because my other 3 are not and it costs me about $40 in batteries every 3 months (those cameras take 4 batteries each). If you find video you want to save, you can download it to your PC/Smart Phone for safe keeping; otherwise, Arlo Cloud clears your video library on the 7th day (which comes with the camera free with the option to subscribe to Arlo if you want a longer history). Bottom-line, you can purchase this system and grow it to meet your needs and upgrade cameras to which the base will support it. I can access https://arlo.netgear.com/#/login via PC or SmartPhone to view my LIBRARY. I do recommend updating your phone app periodically.

We ordered this refurbished Arlo Pro 2 camera as the 5th camera for our system, and I installed it 2 days ago.

The packaging was just as professional as a new camera - brown cardboard box was the only difference. All of the accessories that are included with new cameras were also in the package. The camera came fully charged.

We have owned our Arlo system for about 18 months, and have been pleased with the system.

The attached photo shows the view we're getting from this camera. There is a foggy area in the right side of the picture, but I believe it is condensation, as the camera faces West. I'll watch it for the next few day, and report back, if needed.

They're awesome you can also link it up to the first Arlo base station so you don't need to buy the Arlo Pro base station

We purchased this Refurbished Arlo Pro to cover another angle at our house. So far so good! The unit does not appear to have been used. The battery seems to be holding charge and the picture/sound quality is on par with new units we purchased. It synced with out base immediately and promptly updated with no issues. We particularly liked that it came with a charge cable/block. Will update if anything changes.

This is the way to go, Arlo camera with great HD image, audio, and rechargeable battery. I'm converting my older cameras with pro. I hesitated for a certified refurbished, it is good as the new ones I purchased.

I was a little concerned that I would have issues connecting this camera to my existing three-camera Arlo system (purchased from QVC), but found that it FLAWLESSLY connected and worked just as great as the other three cameras. Everything in the box was packaged well, and all items included were exactly the same as the items I got with my three-camera system. This is a GREAT price and QUALITY purchase. I will most-likely purchase another!

Setup was not straightforward. The only way to understand the system is to download the full pdf user manual. For reasons unknown there is no reference to this manual, no link to this manual anywhere, neither is there any mention of its existence. You can find it with a little searching.

Once set-up, it is a very good system. We use it in combination with a Blink system to get the full service we require. Neither system has all the features we want.

This camera fixes most of the problems I had with the original Arlo. It has rechargeable batteries, sound, better image quality, and it casts to Chromecast. The first one was a neat idea with too many tradeoffs. This is the one to get.

The camera, though reconditioned, appears to be brand new. It works well, has no scratches. Though my Arlo Pro kit's cameras came fully charged, this add on was not charged. Not a big issue. Just good to know. One peeve I do have is the battery installation, as the door is very difficult to open, requiring more than a few tries. This has nothing to do with the seller, rather it is an Arlo Pro issue that really should be addressed. All in all quite satisfied with this purchase as new add on cameras sell for nearly double.
