Just got this laptop the end of March, but so far we are extremely pleased. We got the 8GB/512 SSD version with A6 AMD Processor. Boots fast and responds very fast. Has a good DVD Player that is hard to find on a budget laptop. Plenty of USB ports to add additional drives etc. If you are in the market for a budget laptop with features look at this one.
I am so glad I bought this HP laptop, It's slim design is light weight but sturdy much better then my Toshiba laptop. The hinges are designed for years of service. This HP comes with a CD and DVD optical drive, Windows 10, and comes with a free 30 day trial of Microsoft office. This laptop is ready to go right out of the box. I researched a lot of laptops brands but this HP really stands out for quality. I bought the basic model I only wish I had gotten a 8GB for speed but I'm happy so far. I am also impressed with the long life battery 8 real hours between charges.
I had a Dell desktop for 10 years. When it quit working I decided to try a laptop. I'm very glad I choose this one. I am not technically smart. I was able to set this up and connect it to my mouse & printer with no problem. It is very easy to use. The screen is a nice size and very sharp. It works faster than my old desktop, iPhone, & iPad. The speakers are clear & nicer than add on speakers. The only thing I've not liked about it is the way HP suggestions, ads, and such pop up the whole time I'm using it. I've tried to figure out how to stop it happening but can't figure that out. I gave an IT guy coming to do a couple of things for me & am hoping he can fix this.
This laptop works exactly as expected. I added extra RAM for a total of 8G, included in purchase. I have always been happy with HP products. It has more plastic than my last laptop... much lighter... but my last laptop was more than twice the price. It was a debate between this laptop and a tablet. Because I use the keyboard quite a bit I went with this for ease of typing, yet it's still easy enough to take with me. I've used it for a couple of months and I am happy with my purchase!
Just received this laptop today and so far I love it, it get's the job done. Which you need too do all the update's first when you set it up.

Easy to set up and works great for my home use. I went with the 500 SSD.
I use this computer for serious scientific, engineering, and mathematical work, and so far it is highly satisfactory...or as satisfactory as it could be, considering that it runs Windows 10, which I truly hate. But that isn't Hewlett-Packard's fault.
We purchased our first at Madison Mississippi two years ago for use in FL. We stored it there and purchased this one when we got home this spring. We feel it does all I need and then some. If needed we will buy a third. Very happy with it.
