Venterior VT-FF001 Portable Fish Finder, Handheld Fishfinder Fish Depth Finder with Sonar Sensor Transducer and LCD Display

Venterior VT-FF001 Portable Fish Finder, Handheld Fishfinder Fish Depth Finder with Sonar Sensor Transducer and LCD Display

I use it on my kayak just to check depths, seems pretty accurate. Lost one star because it resets the settings when ever it shuts off, but meters to feet conversion isn't that hard.

Update, I was sent a new one which does now keep settings when turned off. So works perfectly for what I need it for!

Accurate depth readings. Fish finding capabilities seemed accurate. However, after using it a couple of times it started locking up and it became necessary to continually reboot it. Sent it back.
***Update: Venterior refunded my purchase price AND sent me a free replacement unit. Who does that? Well, VENTERIOR does. Even if you pay a little more it’s worth it to do business with a company that practices old fashioned integrity. Buy with ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE!

Don't do like i did and enthusiastically throw it in a body of water... The cable isn't as long as my brain made it out to be. I threw the whole thing in. Luckily I tried it out in a neighborhood pond first, and not saltwater. I placed it next to a little room dehumidifier for several hours, then rejuvenated some silica gel in the oven on a baking sheet at 175 degrees. I turned the over off, cracked the door and placed the electronic on top of the silica. It did the trick and it works flawlessly.

So how about how it works!
You obviously know its basic. Fish are on drop offs and structure. This shows you those things. On my kayak it has been great. I like that its so simple, because I can fish and not worry so much about whats going on.
I went to a lake that I know had severe drop offs and suspected was very deep in places. I was able to verify.
I also drifted a drop shot worm and caught 2 large mouth that it marked at the bottom. It marked a lot of fish down there and it worked, so on my first trip it was a success.
I affixed a piece of PVC tubing to the crate in the back of my kayak, made a 90 degree elbow and tube goes down into the water. The transducer is screwed into the PVC. I'll try and add a photo if I can think of it when I'm out.
I am VERY happy with this small purchase.

Once you figure it out and set it to your fishing environment..this thing is awesome! I used it in my canoe and Intex inflatable--and in both vessels I used sticky Velcro to adhere the finder and its cord to the side of the boat so that I could control depth, etc. I always take a spare set of batteries out with me; however, I found my Finder worked well into the 5th hour of continued use.

Venterior Portable Fish Finder, Fishfinder with Wired Sonar Sensor Transducer and LCD Display

The Venterior portable fish finder works great! This unit was purchased for my daughters boyfriend at Christmas. This unit is very accurate, and he has caught many of fish with it already. This little yellow fish finder will display the dept of water, where the fish are located, weeds, sand and rock and seaweed.

Just place the sensor float in your hand and toss in the water. The side scan adapter attaches to the hull of the boat and comes with mounting tabs. The sensor that attaches to the handle gets put in the water. The transmitter is waterproof, but the screen unit is not. The dept display turns off automatically after 5 minutes.

The dept of water are measured in meters and feet. The screen of the unit has a green LED light that turns on when the unit is on. The maximum depth range of the fish finder is 328 feet, and the minimum is 2.30 feet. The angle beam is 45 degrees. The sensor is attached to 25 feet of cable. This portable fish finder comes with a neck strap and a manual for operating your fish finder. It can be used lakes, ponds, deep sea, and even can be used for ice fishing in -20 below temps or above. The unit takes 4-AAA batteries, which are not included.
This portable fish finder made a great gift purchase, as my daughters boyfriend was very pleased with it and loves it!

I got this as a Valentine’s Day gift for my boyfriend who’s an avid ice fisher. This is great, works great and he loves it! He’ll drill 300 holes(not really more like 12) and ‘find’ them all and place his tip ups accordingly. Definitely helps to cut out the days we get shut out on a lake, as long as we check the holes we know we’re goin to pull something through the ice!

Works great when I fish off my kayak and also worked great for ice fishing.

This unit keeps it very simple but works quite well for the budget minded fisherman. Have used many time in a small lake by my house and it has changed the way I fish and definitely gives me an advantage over the fish without breaking the bank. If you are looking for a simple way to locate some fish and know what depth you are fishing then I would definitely recommend this fish finder.

I don't fish, but I got this to use as a depthsounder for our 10' dinghy aboard our Motoryacht. It's great. I don't use the float with it. I mount it on a wooden rod which goes over the transom of the dinghy. When we're taking the big boat into some location where I want to check depths first, we anchor the big boat, then launch the dinghy and sound out the area for depths prior to bringing the big boat in. It's also useful if the boat inadvertently goes agound. We walk around the decks of this boat, lowering it into the water, and we can see where the deeper water is around the big boat. It works great. Does what it says it does and is very affordable. Can't remark about the fishfinder aspects of it though.

I really haven’t used my Venterior Portable Fish Finder extensively yet. I’ve only used it a few times to check the water depth while fishing from my Seahawk 4. Still I think it’s very nice and it seems to give a fairly accurate reading, battery life is also pretty good. I haven’t had it light up on a school of fish or anything but I does show different structures and terrain on the the bottom of the water, which can be very useful. I will definitely use it more as we get closer to spring and summer.

By the way, my boat is made of vinyl so I can’t do it, but the Venterior fish finder sensor can be mounted to a regular boat making it a permanent fixture on the boat.
