I would never give an 'energy' bar five stars but these have really won me over. I'l begin by saying that I have tried almost every brand out there and keep going back to these. I only mention that as these can melt if left in a car or backpack, making them a bit harder to unwrap and eat without a napkin. Other than that, they are fantastic.
I tend to reach a critical low blood sugar easily and need something to provide sustenance until I can get a real balanced meal. Yes, they are not high in fiber, so they do not compete with high fiber bars— but those tend to have little protein or they cost twice the price.
What I love about these TT bars (I buy only the Peanut Butter favor) is that they have a low glycemic index. So even as they are chocolate coated, they do not spike my sugar levels and dump me down later as most sweet bars will. The filling is easily digested and never gummy or sticky. They have 20gms protein, so Cliff bars (my past favorite) at about 7.5 gas protein, can't hold a candle to these for effectiveness as a meal replacement or supplement. On the go, I grab one of these and I'm fine. They live in all my camera bags and luggage so I'm always covered while traveling. I only avoid these when on extended travels in really hot climates. (For those conditions, I prefer Kind bars)
I am not sensitive to the sweeteners used, and have no negative effects from easting them as another reviewer mentioned. I have purchased about eight boxes of these at supermarkets and will not buy from Amazon due to the price.
Experiment with the flavors. I found these to be the least sweet tasting, which is perfect for me.
Hope you like them too.
These are a hit between my husband and I. The 20g bars though are a bit big, thick, so they hold you over more than say their 150 calorie bars. So, if you are looking more for a smaller, liter bar go with the thinkThin 150 calorie bars. If you are looking for a thick protein bar to replace a meal or while on the go and you don't have time and need protein to hold you over, go with this 20g bar. Just to note though, there is two types of Peanut Butter versions: chunky and creamy. My hubby likes creamy over chunky, I like both. So just make sure to read the product description if that matters to you. Overall, as far as protein bars go this gets an A in my book.
After reading several reviews, I can see my experience isn't unique ---please go ahead and read this away, ok? I'll condense the thoughts of others and add a few of my own. I found my this first batch to be somewhat dry and that made it less appealing because it had little taste. Perhaps because though it was ordered and received in January 2015 the actual manufacture date shows September 2014 (note, I didn't make the purchase from Amazon). According to another reviewer, who has placed multiple orders these bars can vary in from pleasantly moist to dry. My impression is the greater the dryness the less tasty they are likely to be. Given that my bars that were produced back in September 2014 yet shows an expiration date of November 2015 (14 months), I am wondering if they will be even more dry if I waited that long to consume? Perhaps, it is caused by a storage issue? Or there is a facility issue that causes the dryness? Another reviewer stated the manufacturer was notified of the dryness but failed to respond. Let us hope that while they ignored their customer, it is a matter they intend to address without compromising the integrity of the product.
I found as I ate my bar, I kept swigging a good deal of water to make the bar more chewy. I have yet to "crunch" anything. Now, I don't want to rag on it to much because it wasn't horrible, it just was unappealing unless you are desperate for food. It didn't meet my expectations, yet when compared with other bars in this category I prefer them to most (my favorite is no longer available from my source and I can't think of the name to locate it online).
On the positive side, these are the best protein bars I've tasted that wasn't full of corn syrup or cane sugar (Sugar 0g but it does contain Sugar Alcohol of 12g) and modest carbs (25g), however, these should not be confused with low cal option since the bar has 230 calories comparable to most people's favorites. Maltitol and glycerin are the sweeteners utilized.
Unfortunately, my quest for a favorite protein bar will continue, in the meantime, I will buy these because they are edible and don't leave a chalky residue like one I've tasted. I find that even eating a half bar is enough to stop a growling stomach for at least over an hour, which gives me opportunity to find a healthier way to avoid going through a fast food lane because it is mealtime.
As I am trying to find more natural alternatives, my big question is this GMO free? The blurb on Amazon states, "No ingredients produced using biotechnology!" Now, I would interpret that as being another way of saying it is Non-GMO. Yet, why not just say that? These days most of the soy or rice being sold are GMO. My request to the company is to be more clear, particularly since they have a separate food line called "Think Organic" and this bar only promises it is gluten free.
Please note there are milk products in the bar. It is also manufactured in a facility that processes eggs, peanuts and tree nuts.
The following information is an aside but somewhat related to healthy oriented foods. Right now, Cargill, Monsanto and other mega food companies including those that own health food companies (it is amazing how many "natural" or even "organic" or "healthy" products at your local health food store is owned by Pepsi, Coca Cola and other unhealthy corporations) are spending billions (yes, I said the b word) to stop the labeling of GMO foods. If it is so GMO products are safe, why are they spending big money and extending great effort to stop it? Legislation is constantly being presented to deny consumers less and less information on the food they put in their body. Please educate yourself and get involved by letting your congressional representatives know you want GMO labeling disclosure!
I don't love all the chemicals and preservatives in these protein bars, but they are extremely filling. I use them as breakfast or lunch bars, or when I'm on the go and need some extra calories after a dance rehearsal or workout. They hold up well, are easy to store, and only melt slights in the heat. The chocolaty flavor is pleasant, it gives a hint of sweetness without mimicking a candy bar, and the bar doesn't taste as powdery as other protein bars do. It's also a reasonable calorie count for a protein bar with 20 grams of gluten free protein that doesn't bother the digestive system.
I'm super picky about snack bars in terms of taste, texture, and ingredients. These bars from thinkThin hit the spot on all counts. They're tasty, have a good texture, and not too many "unpronouncables" in the ingredients list. Several flavors (such as Chunky Peanut Butter) have 0g added sugars, which was recommended by my doctor and is super hard to find in a bar that also has decent flavor and texture. My favorites are the Chunky Peanut Butter and Brownie Crunch. They do have nuts in them, so no good if you have a nut allergy. But if you're looking for a low GI, gluten free protein bar that tastes good enough that you'll *want* to eat it, you may want to give these a try.

ThinkThin bars are actually one of the first snack/meal replacements that keep me full. I have tried a lot of other claiming to whole you over between meals and all of that but this is the first to do so. I think they are great since I work out in the morning and find myself starving an hour or so after breakfast. This certainly tied me over through lunch. I don't think I could personally use them to replace a meal - since I am a tactile eater and my brain and taste buds would be sad but I do recommend these
These are the best protein bars you can find! I like all the flavors (it's rare that that happens!) but I almost always buy either peanut butter variety. Currently the price on Amazon (around $12 for 10) is the best deal you will find anywhere. These can be up to $20 for ten at a grocery store. I will keep buying these on here as long as the price stays about the same. Very satisfied with my purchas.e
I like the way these taste and the high protein content makes me feel satisfied. I keep them in my car and purse so that if I get hungry and am tempted to buy junk food, I can eat one of these instead and resist temptation.
I also like the 150 calorie, 10 grams of protein version for when I'm not quite as hungry but feeling like nibbling (again, I don't have much will power, but these help a lot!)
Great peanut butter flavor. The little crunchy bits add a nice texture too. Definitely hits the spot when you want a healthier alternative to a sweet snack. A little high on calories for my liking, would prefer it were 200 calories to 20 grams of protein instead of 240 but just cut that little bit of calories somewhere else in your diet or routine. These are a staple in our house now.
Got these on subscribe and save to try out. They have good flavor and texture and I really enjoy them. It really does have the taste of a chocolate brownie with chocolate coating. Mine did come melted because of UPS my box was split in two as well with my items literally scattered about the doorstep and there was tape on this package where the usual seals are. No idea why this was like that but I believe that to be more to do with shipping and seller than the item itself so will not deduct from rating. If you are looking for a healthier protein bar Think Thin bars do have the best flavor I have found.
