I purchased 2 of these headrest mounts for a roadtrip (about 5,000 miles this summer) with at least 2 kids. The mounts are very simple to attach to the headrests. Stretch the elastic wrap around the headrest and secure with velcro (I did this solo). Put one clip on the bottom of your device and attach to the exposed velcro surface. Place the top clip on your device and secure it to the velcro as well. The velcro is high quality and should last a while. It holds securely.
I tried these mounts in a Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Optima, and a Ford Explorer. The straps fit around every headrest with no trouble. In two cars the strap mounts horizontally and the other vertically, which did not affect the attachment of the tablet. I attached an ipad 2 in a Survivor case (thick and bulky), a 7" Kindle Fire in a wallet case, a Philips PD7012/37 7-Inch LCD Portable DVD Player, and a Samsung Galaxy S5 in a Caseology Slim Fit Skin. Each of these electronics attached with no issues and stayed put. I should note that I have a Sylvania SDVD9805 9-Inch Dual Screen DVD player that was too thick to mount in the clips, but this company makes another style mount that I will try for it.
The ease of removal is a big plus for us, since our kids get carted around by other family members. My 8 year old can remove the strap himself and attach it to a headrest in another car with no problems. I also bought an extra elastic strap without the clips to keep attached to a headrest when the third row is used that is harder to get to. This way my kids can just pull the clips off another strap and position the tablet back there quickly.
The extra strap is here: TFY Vehicle Headrest Velcro-Strap (Black) - Accessory for TFY Car Headrest Mount It comes in black or beige.
We have been using these mounts for over 3 months now with no issues and they solved a lot of usual headaches. I like that they are very unobtrusive; It's like they came attached to the car.
Picked up two of these for a long 4,000 mile trip in the car . I searched and searched for the perfect small tablet holder and this takes the cake.
The thing that most impressed me was the lack of plastic moving parts. Anything plastic always breaks within two or three uses. This design uses actual metal hooks to secure the tablets to the headrest. Even my 5 yr old can operate the unit.
The unit supports tablets with cases, which was also a large consideration when buying a headrest tablet holder. We have ipad minis with gumdrop cases and they fit perfectly. Added bonus is, you can move these between vehicles with ease. For the price, I will probably gab another two to put in the other car.
I looked at the cost of an in-car entertainment system and that is wildly over priced. Next looked at buying an headrest DVD player and realized that this also was a dead-end approach, since I had a limited amount of DVDs.
For the price, this unit and a tablet with case is a great deal. Plus when the tablet dies or needs replacement it can be swapped out. No need for re-wring a new headrest unit.
We've got a long beach trip ahead of us and our toddler is to the age where she loves watching movies on our iPad. She has a hard time not touching the screen when holding it in her lap so we decided to get something to hold it for her so she can watch it without having to fumble with something in her lap.
This one has the highest amount of 5 star ratings so I gave it a shot and it actually works exactly like you'd hope it would. Not only that, I was worried that my iPad being in a Bluetooth keyboard case wouldn't fit but the little hooks that hold the tablet are deep enough that they still can cradle and the velcro that holds them to the main headrest strap is strong enough to support the weight of the tablet in that case (which is nearly 2x what the ipad itself weighs)
If you're looking for a way to quickly and easily secure a tablet to a headrest, look no further.
I was looking for a mount for my Lenovo Yoga tablet 8 (8 inches). I have no doubt that 10 inch tablet would also fit under the same review. Because of the large battery contained in the round built-in stand at the base of the tablet, I had no idea if any of the mounts would work. Since I had some experience with the excellent TFY holder for my Silvania 7 inch DVD player (would not recommend this player), I had to try this mount. The features that appealed to me were the high placement of the tablet (so my 3 year old toddler would not end up kicking the tablet), lack of ball joint that would resonate with the road, and simple placement of the tablet.
I knew that if the bottom holder would not fit the battery outright, I would be able to try to expand it a bit, to make the battery bar fit. And that was exactly the case. I only had to expand it a little bit, and the bar fit right in. Everything about the mount is great. Holds the tablet tight, the metal holders are soft-rubber coated and non-scratching, the velcro is really heavy duty. And you don't need to remove the brackets to take the tablet out. Because everything is stretchy, I just lift the top wire holder, place the tablet in, and release. The tablet is locked in place. Same with taking the tablet out.
I've added a few pictures to show the hold of the tablet in the mount. My car is Subaru Forester 2008. The mount headrest strap fits my car like a glove.
The only limitation I see is if the child seat is in the middle of the rear seat. Because this holder does not have a ball joint, it cannot be tilted toward the middle seat. But my kid's seat is behing the passenger seat, so I did not face this problem.
If any owner of the GREAT Lenovo Yoga Tablet is looking for a car mount that they want to know would work for their tablet, this is it.
I have to say, this worked out great on many flights with our toddler, both in a car seat and without the car seat. I can't guarantee that it'll work fine on all flights, but I've flown American and southwest on different sized planes and so far so good. It's a long elastic piece with Velcro that wraps around the tray table. The hooks that keep the iPad on are velcroed on, so adjustable too. It (barely) fits an iPad Pro, when i have the Velcro attached at the edges.

Description
A life saver on long drives. The car mount holder provides great entertainment for kids. Universal Car Headrest Mount fits all Tablet PCs - Works with or Without your Tablet PC Case Instant Back Seat Entertainment Perfect companion for long car journeys.
Bought this for a 12 hour road trip with my husband and our two kids, one of which is 1 1/2 years old. My son has a kindle fire and we used that to play movies for the baby. It fit perfectly into this holder. The two mounts are adjustable and I loved that. The wrap is velcro and so are the mounts so you can literally adjust to almost any size. I love that we weren't limited to the tablet and could also put my iPad in it if we needed to. This is a great product for road trips and just everyday use. I do feel the price point is a little high. It's not a high tech holder by any means and I almost feel like it would not be too difficult to make yourself. That being said, it's still good quality and definitely made our lives much easier.
I wish I had purchased this product from the start.
This item was easy to unbox and install in my 2010 Honda Pilot. I allowed my 8 year old son to test it out. He enjoys his iPad Air 2 very much. I was concerned with him having his neck in a downward position for long periods of time. We travel a lot and he brings his iPad along. He loved the TFY! He could watch his iPad at eye level without his neck in a downward position. So a few days later I purchased a 2nd TFY for my 10 year old daughter. We are all happy car riders now! Excellent product does what it says, just a little pricey 🤑
Our baby girl is a road warrior and this is a lifesaver! We've been on multiple 10+ hour road trips when she was about 2-5 months. She HATES being in her car seat. It was when we were stuck in Atlanta traffic and I was holding my phone in front of her trying to play cartoons, and she was balling that I thought we need this! Now I download a couple cartoons from Netflix before a trip, start one when we are about to leave, and she's asleep by the end of the episode.
Fit- It's all velcro and adjustable (both the strap for the headrest and the holders for the iPad width), so I can't imagine a car/iPad it would work with. Fits our Lexus SUV headrest and 2nd generation iPad really well.
Safety- I'm very safety conscious and at first I was nervous of it falling on her. The iPad feels very secure and would be hard to come out on its own.
I purchased this item after several other headrest tablet holders I used broke after a short period of time. The TFY headrest is simple to install and easy to adjust by simply moving the Velcro holders to match the size of your tablet. Inserting and removing the tablet is far more simple than the other products as well; no knobs to loosen or tighten, just snap your tablet into place.
I was initially worried about the Velcro not being strong enough to hold my iPad 2 w/ case but it has held strong even when the vehicle goes over bumps and such.
We purchased this to hold a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 in place for a long car trip. My son was extremely happy and able to watch shows / movies during our long drive. This was a simple and inexpensive option to hold our tablet. We had the table enclosed in Otter Box protector for the Galaxy Tab S2 and the mount held it well. The tablet was held in place securely and did not bounce around while driving. I would highly recommend this product.
