I take several medications which cause dry mouth, and xylitol is a great treatment for it, since it induces salivation. I've tried other xylitol gum brands, and none of them taste as good or last as long as PUR. I am a big fan of their peppermint, spearmint, and coolmint. Coolmint is the mildest and reminds me of Freshmint Tic Tacs. The peppermint is slightly stronger and tastes a lot like starlight mints. The spearmint is even stronger, and is sort of like Wrigley's Spearmint gum. I find the Wintergreen to be too strong--it's almost medicinal, vaguely reminiscent of Fisherman's Friends cough drops for about the first 20 seconds of chewing. I haven't tried the other flavors.
I would recommend this gum to anyone who wants to chew gum. It tastes great, lasts a long time, and contains 1g of xylitol per piece.
I've tried 3 flavors. Peppermint, Spearmint and Pomegranate.
Of the 3, Spearmint and Peppermint retain their flavor the longest. Pomegranate taste great, but loses flavor in minutes leaving you with a faint remnant of pomegranate and mostly gum texture.
Of Spearmint and Peppermint, the latter holds it's flavor the longest of these.
I keep reading about how short the flavor is, but the flavor seems to have 3 stages :
1) Holy Potent Batman (1min.)
2) Tasty Peppermint/normal (5min)
3) Pepperminty enough, but has lost the Zing of 1 & 2. this lasts about 10 or 15 minutes but begins to have the gum texture taste after this.
+ Peppermint flavor lasts the longest
+ Lots of pieces of gum. This can last you a good long while if you don't need huge wads of gum at a time and prefer small pieces semi frequently.
- Serving size is 2pcs. Each piece is somewhat small. If you gauge your stash by pieces and chew at least 2, then this is at max, 85 servings. Sounds like a lot, but factor in your frequency of chewing gum and this may not last you very long.
The small pieces (1/2 serving) are perfect for me as I don't like huge wads of gum and it'll chew one after a cup of coffee or lunch etc.
I am chewing gum only for the dental benefits of the xylitol and only this brand. This flavor is my favorite and it is softer and stays much softer over time than my other favorite flavor of this brand, cinnamon. I chew 2 pieces of the peppermint at a time everyday at work after lunch and it is good in every way. Staying soft is a big deal to me because I have caps and generally don't want my jaw getting a workout either. It never sticks on my teeth (which store bought brands with sugar do) and some flavor remains even after a long time. I tried the 6 pack with all the flavors, but this is the one for me. Sometimes in the evening, I chew the cinnamon, which I need 3 pieces of at once for some reason for the same effect. The cinnamon is a great flavor, but takes a few minutes to get soft and then only stays soft for maybe 15 minutes or so, never really timed it. I am also happy with the ingredients in this gum; I am not aware of any harmful ones in this brand that are common in the others.
I thought I was going to have to just go without gum until I found this one. I'm severely allergic to soy and completely intolerant of gluten and most gums contain one or the other (usually soy). I'd tried a number of other brands and found the texture off-putting (and sometimes actually painful) or the flavor lacking. This gum is actually good gum. I'd like it even if I didn't have restrictions making it one of my few available options.
Xylitol is reported to be much safer than some of the other sweeteners and studies have shown its "better than brushing your teeth"! I prefer to brush my teeth 3-4x per day...but when I can't...I love to have this alternative! PLEASE keep this away from dogs as Xylitol is poisonous for dogs to ingest! Not sure about other pets or young children? Do your research!

Literally cannot function without this gum. No aspartame or sugar and it has a great, long lasting flavor. I, along with thousands of other, have a serious allergy to aspartame and cannot chew the stardard gums we grew up with since all have changed their formulae in the U.S.. I never thought I could replace Wrigley's Juicy Fruit or Spearmint, but I have with Pur! Chewing gum is often an important staple for people with LPR as it helps to produce saliva which neutralizes the acid flowing into the esophagus and mouth; many of us chew gum to produce that saliva.. I am forever thankful I found this gum.
This is a great gum. The peppermint is the better flavor (then the wintergreen) in my opinion. No sugar and NO ASPARTAME!
BUT, I have found that the peppermint sells for more than the other flavors. This three-pack was a good price and slightly better than what I could purchase at my local store. But the next time I went to purchase I found that they raised the price to MUCH MORE than what I'd pay at my local store.
Good! I prefer shopping local.
I read that chewing gum can help sinus inflammation. So I bought this for someone I know At first he said it didn't help, but he keeps on chewing them, so it must be helping! I love that this product is so natural. It's the only chewing gum that I would buy. Will probably try it in other flavors too.
I have tried several other xylitol gums and this one seems to keep the flavor longest. I only chew peppermint. It does not have titanium dioxide that most other gums have which recently I found out that it is harmful to health. I like the texture and the size of the pieces. Also like that it's not made in China, but Canada.
I wanted to get away from artificial sweeteners, so purchased this gum. I think it is a great alternative and like the taste. It's a little different than regular gum, but not in a bad way. I always keep a bag in my purse and will never go back to the other gum.
