North American Natural Hog Casings for Home Sausage Making, Make 25 lbs. of Standard Italian, Polish and Bratwurst at about ~1.5” Stuffed Diameter Links

Bought a sausage press for my dad for Christmas. He's a retired butcher, since his retirement we haven't been able to find quality Italian sausage. So the press was the perfect gift. Made his first batch of sausage with this casing. Being a butcher for 30 years, he was raving about the quality of the casing. Sometimes online you don't know the quality of product you're getting, or how long it sat on the shelf. He said that they were easy to fill and would want to buy more. Be blew threw making 30 pounds of sausage the first day.

Ok, this product is used for making natural casing sausage. When you get it, it is very tough and dry, and covered with salt. You need to wash the salt off and rehydrate it, then wash it inside and out. Generally it was solid all the way to the end. A couple had splits near the ends, so you tie the end knot a couple inches in. Only one had a split in the middle, which was a hassle, I ended up losing almost a foot, since I had to knot the ends and cut the bad part out. But for a natural product, this is great

I made a chorizo style sausage with some citric acid for brightness and a sagey breakfast style sausage.

You need to prick the casings when you cook the sausage so it does not split.

I mostly thought of these casings as breakfast style, I used the small funnel.

For a natural product, consistency was great, and they just work like they are supposed to.

I really like the fact that pork shoulder was on sale, and now I know what is in my sausage.

Also, the grandkids love to cook with grandpa.

I changed to this brand and quantity when another one I ordered was not going to arrive in time. I couldn't be happier that I made this choice. I paid a bit extra for one day shipping, not much, because I needed it in a hurry. Item arrived super fast and in excellent condition. I have never used sausage casings of any kind before and this was nicely packaged and had instructions on how to use it. Simple, easy to use and of the casings I used, only two split and that was mostly my fault as I do not have a proper sausage casing stuffer. The splits I had were very small and only at the top and I believe, again, due to my not having the proper tools for stuffing.

I highly recommend these and will purchase them again if needed in the future.

I had never attempted stuffing my own sausage before this and found the instructions complete and thorough and I was successful my first attempt. Was very proud of myself for my accomplishment. Product was very easy to use ... will last me a long time, but I will purchase again when needed.

Makes a fine sausage stuffing. Coated with salt, soak them well. In long pieces, not just one very long piece.

didn't know what to expect, 1st time making sausage, it was easier to handle than what I thought, but couldn't figure an easy way to rinse the inside of the casing. Would buy again.

Easy to use after following directions on package. The length seems a little short, but the casings were all approximately the same length. Had enough casing to do the 15# of bratwurst I was making with a couple left over.
One thing not on the directions that really helps to get them usable is that they need to be flushed with cold water before trying to put them on the stuffing tube. Kind of how a balloon is easier to inflate the second time after being stretched out from first inflation.

I just got a meat grinder so this was my first experience with using casings. I don't really have anything to compare these to, but they were easy to use and made really good brats. The instructions were clear and the packaging was a pretty heavy-duty plastic. Not sure what else you could ask for.

As described. Well packaged. NOT super stinky like natural casings are sometimes. My second shot at making & stuffing boudin. Hold up better than collegen. Best to knot or tie the ends with string so they don't squeeze the sausage out when cooking.

Very good product. I am using them to make Lithuanian dish called "Vedarai". I love the quality.
