Pleasantly pleased with this. Was a little intimidated when I opened up the instructions and feared I may need to take a couple of calculus classes before I could program it but a couple glasses of bourbon later, I was reading it just fine. Maybe I should have had more bourbon when I was in college? Anyway, it has everything you need except batteries (I think) and it was quick to install. I would have preferred a little more tactile feeling behind the pushing of the buttons; they feel like poking jell-o. Otherwise, no complaints!
I recently bought a number of Mighty Mule products: Light Duty Gate Opener MM260, 10w Solar Panel kit, Electronic Gate Lock, Pin Lock, about 5 extra transmitters, and 2 of these Keypads. The gate was installed and has been working great for about a month. But when I tried to program my keypads I ran into trouble. I followed the instructions and successfully "Learned" my transmitter, then successfully changed my master code. The problem was, they did NOT operate my gate. That was a head scratcher. I went through the steps several times, satisfied that I did not make a mistake, so called Customer Service. I got the MOST HELPFUL and friendly customer service rep, Julian! It turns out the problem was that I used one of my OEM transmitters to pair the keypads, and not the one that said Mighty Mule on the case, and was included with my gate opener. The others looked identical to the MM transmitter except for not having their logo on the case. Once I went through the process using the original MM transmitter, they worked just fine. Julian went through the process of programming both keypads with me on the phone, including changing the master code, adding an entry code, and testing both units every step of the way. Thank you so much Julian, you were very professional and easy to work with.
IMPORTANT! Always use your original Mighty Mule transmitter when programming your keypads!
This was an add on for the gate that I didn’t think I needed but am I glad I purchased it. Very easy to install. At night when you touch it all the numbers light up with a warm red glow so it is easy to use. Mainly purchased this for friends to get in if I don’t know there coming over. Happy with the purchase. Although this is a wireless system I went ahead and hardwired it so I wouldn’t have to replace batteries. Just sayin
I replaced the battery only model as the batteries always died without notice and when I needed to open the gate to get into they yard it failed to work. I wired this one to the gate battery so it always works and I don't need to change batteries anymore. Works great and i highly recommend it over the battery only model.
My first unit worked sporadically after a few years...as if the circuit boards had temporary problems. I futzed with that and was able to get it to work just by removing and replacing the same batteries. Of course I had to remove the keypad from the wall so that was irritating. I finally gave up and bought this new one.
I wish it had weather cover. Hood on top normally protects, but we get a lot of "horizontal" rain.Power and keyboard light is essential, so good for that. I like that if a mistake is made in entering the code, that the unit remembers the last four numbers required to open it. The original mfg. unit supplied only lasted a few years in a very humid environment. Easy to use and program.

The Digital Keypad is designed to control access to all Mighty Mule automatic gate openers. It can be programmed to use up to 25 different personal identification number (PIN) codes, and each code can be set up as a temporary or permanent security access code. Each code is face programmable with additional security features built in. This Digital Keypad can be easily installed wirelessly within 50 feet of your gate opener control box. The unit works well. The only negative thing is it only allows a 4 digit pass code setting. I bought this to replace my older (25 years) Mighty Mule Wireless Digital Keypad which I had entered more than 4 digit code. So I will have to inform varies people a new code. I could continue to use the old one and send this new one back, probably not. Seems Mighty Mule went backwards on this.
We have several of these and have been using them for 5+ years. We've installed, set up, and reprogrammed pins in all of them, and the instructions are very quick and easy to follow. Using them daily, we still haven't needed to replace batteries in them yet. Installing them initially with wireless setup took maybe 10 minutes total.
I have a long driveway with a double gate at the entrance and GTO Pro openers that have been working for around 15 years. I always depended on the remotes to open and close the gates which can be a hassle if mowing or with a bicycle or motorcycle and not having a remote with me at the time. It took less than 10 minutes from opening the package to program the wireless function and put where I wanted it. Better than a doorbell type switch because it can't be activated accidentally or by someone you don't want to be able to open the gates.
Great keypad. We wired ours to the gate system. It was very easy to program. Just remember to wait for the beeps before you try the code or try to program a new code. I believe it said you can program up to 25 codes to it. There is also an option to program a temporary code that only lasts as many days as you tell it. That is awesome! Nice for when we go out of town and have pet sitters!! Seems well made. We will see how it holds up!
Our keypad on the gate to our property broke, and we said, "Oh, I'll bet we can find it on Amazon." Yes! Amazon had it, and they had it on sale about half the usual price. Then with points, my goodness, what a deal we found. It's installed, and now our visitors can come in to see us.
