Lt. Blender's Margarita in a Bag, 12-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 3)

Lt. Blender's Margarita in a Bag, 12-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 3)

This is a great product. I usually make one up and have it in the freezer, to use for unexpected guests or an occasional margarita for myself. It's very easy to make, although you have to make sure you get all of the product dissolved. You can play around with the proportions of alcohol, depending upon your own taste. To use it, you have to thaw it out for a little bit, otherwise you can't get it out of the packaging. It's so much better to use at a party, no annoying noise from a blender! And the leftovers go right back into the freezer to drink later.

I've been buying this mix since the beginning of the year and it really is a great tasting mix that is does not have a bizarre after-taste like so many pre-made mixes. My only complaint, and the reason I didn't give 5 stars, is the new, cheaper packaging they are using. The safety cap is difficult to remove and splinters when opening and the plastic the bag is made of is vastly inferior to the previous generation. I made a new batch, put it in the freezer for a few hours and when I went to fetch it, it accidentally fell on the floor (about 2 feet) and the side of the bag opened up. Other than that, the flavor is excellent.

I have made a number of bags of this stuff and love it. I make up two bags and keep them in our side-by-side freezer so that it does not freeze too hard. But I change the mixing order: I found that the sugar dissolves better if I add rather warm water to the bag first (up to a little over the circle for adding the Triple-Sec) and really let the power dissolve before adding the 2 1/2 cups of booze and topping off with the rest of the water up to the last line. We also like to add a single drop of green food coloring--gives a more limey look. (We think adding more than one drop of food coloring makes it look like Kool-Aid.) I have made the authentic blender margarita many times--the problem is that if anyone wants refills, its back to the kitchen...So nice just to squeeze out some more!

This stuff is really good. It is easy to prepare and the fact that you can refreeze over again makes it not wasteful. They tell you to serve right from the packet, bit I think it is much better to pour into a pitcher and serve from that. That will allow you to keep it mixed up well. I found it tends to separate a bit if you leave it in the pack. Keep staring. FYI, we followed the instruction exactly.

I absolutely love! this mix. I stumbled on it a few years ago and been trying to find it since. Yup!! It's gonna be a great summer ! So easy to make (just be sure to shake it well to get all of the dry mix), put it in the freezer, and instant party in a bag. Make it as strong (or not so strong) as you like. It still tastes really good.

Description

Add liquor & water shake, freeze & squeeze. All natural. Real citrus juices. Makes 16 servings (1/2 gal or about 2 lt). The Lt. Blender Story: On a lonely Caribbean island, a legend was born. Lieutenant Blender's story began as US paratroopers held local feuding factions at bay. He became infamous for quenching the thirst of the troops with frozen margaritas during the weekend beach party breaks. One fateful day, he discovered tragically his bent blade blender would crush no more. Not be deterred, he filled several empty ration bags with a favorite blend of lime, lemon and orange juice, then topped them off with tequila and triple sec. With a quick shake, he tossed the lot into the mess hall freezer for a quick freeze. That afternoon, he chuted to the beach with ammo sack filled with the now-frozen mixture of awesome margaritas - no ice, no mess, just great convenience and a sensational sparkling taste. The rest was history. (Sorta based on a true story.) Think outside the blender. Easy to freeze - fits into the most packed freezer! Portable - take it anywhere, slip in your backpack, cooler or even briefcase! All natural - made with real lime, lemon and orange juices - taste as good as made from scratch, but without the blender and the mess!. Made in the USA.

Just a little too sweet but very natural tasting. If it wasn't so expensive I'd buy it regularly. I plan on taking them camping in the desert and I think they'll be a huge hit. Here is a close-up of the instructions since you can't see in the seller's image how much tequila and triple sec to add.

This is the best Margarita MIX Ever! Not only is it delicious but it stores very compactly in your freezer unlike the buckets that take up so much space. They pour easily through the large spout and are perfectly slushy by running the bag under warm water in a few minutes. I keep several on hand and ready to go for those last minute gatherings. EVERYONE who has had them at my home loves them and they aren't sold everywhere. I was so happy to find them on AMAZON. They actually sell them on their website too but the prices are about the same as amazon. The history about the product is very cool as they were developed by a military service man. Great Margarita and so easy to have on hand. Add the Tequila, freeze and ENJOY! Just squeeze it out into your salted rim glass.

I'm not one to drink premixed beverages like this but they were handing out free samples at a sotre my husband and I were in not that long ago (virgin beverages) and we were both impressed! We bought this product and it makes having frozen margaritas so easy! Never would I have imagined that I would prefer to just open a bag from the freezer vs. pulling out the blender but I do! These are tasty!!

I love to keep a couple of these in the freezer for when I want a margarita and am to tired to make one. I also love that when I go to a party I can just grab a couple of these and bring to share. Who doesn't love a frozen margarita on demand? When you first grab it from the freezer it is rock hard but just give it about a minute and you will be able to pour it out no problem. Make sure you use a towel when pouring because sometimes you have to squeeze the stuff out into your glass and it is very cold! I love these!
