With two new drivers in the house (twins), my wife urged me to figure out a way to stay on top of how their driving patterns were, whether they go where they said they are going, etc. I found the Vyncs GPS tracker during general internet searches and decided to give this a try. What cemented my decision was the fact that it works over the 3G network with no contract, no wi-fi or data plans needed, and the first year of service was included in the price. It has been exactly what we have needed and we have been able to feel assured that our boys are being responsible drivers and we know they are arriving to their destinations, then know when they are returning.
The fact that it works through the car's OBD port and does not need charging since it's on when the vehicle is on and off when it's off, therefore doesn't drain the battery was another reason we are happy with this product. The reports available on driver habits, such as alerting us when the car exceeds the mph limits we set, excessive braking or acceleration, excessive g-forces, and general vehicle health were just icing on the cake.
My wife is thrilled and now is more adept at pulling reports and analyzing the many details provided that she now lets me know tidbits of information that I now use to maintain the car in good working order.
Very pleased and will continue using this product even when our boys leave the nest in the fall.
Absolutely amazing product! We purchased this to keep tabs on our newly-minted teenage driver who hasn't been as trustworthy as we would like. It install in snap and is super easy to set up both on our home PC and mobile devices (we have iPhones). More importantly, it actually works...enabling us to track our teenager's every move as he meanders around town like a feral cat looking for love. You see , our lovely 16 year old is supposed to be looking for a job, yet a quick look on the Vyncs app shows him out in the country parking with his new girlfriend. Really? Why do you say you're at Chick-fil-A talking to the manager when we can clearly see you parking over by the power lines outside of town. And you know we're tracking you! SMH.
This is the price for the whole year. I have an app on my phone that shows where the car is at all times. Not only that, but where it’s been, how long it took to get there... this is the best parenting invention ever. No more lying about where she is. Mom already knows. Speeding? I got an alert for that. Cutting class and leaving school early? Alerts for that, too. Thank God my parents didn’t have one of these babies!
I have a Honda Pilot. I needed to buy the 12 in long extension 16 pin wire with this product. The extension wire has enabled me to tuck the device under my dash board and out of sight. Some other cars do not have a hidden OBD 2 port. This product provided waypoints every 2 min and 30 sec. I found the way points to be too far away from each other when driving the car around a city. I needed to purchase the upgrade and increase the waypoints to every 60 seconds. A 30 dollar increase. I like the fact that you can do this on the website after I already purchased the product. Each waypoint provides the speed and time stamp. The app is ok. It doesn't offer as much as the website while using a computer. The website is much more robust. You can search different days among other things with the website. The purchase price includes the cost of the product plus the first years subscription. You will need to re purchase every year. There is no monthly cost. It is relatively cheap compared to others of the same size. This unit however will also give you warnings from your car, mpg and gas usage. For this product to work at all you will need AT&T or T mobile network. Set up was very easy, anyone can do it. I would highly recommend to any one.
I've used several GPS devices that first required getting a monthly service plan and activating a SIM card with a wireless provider. Then the SIM card had to be put into the GPS and if everything works it would activate. More than once it didn't activate and I found myself in the middle of finger pointing between the cell carrier and the GPS support person. And that's before installing the GPS, connecting to the car 12 volt system, routing antennas, securing wiring, etc. With the Vyncs unit, I filled out some very generic information on their website, plugged the device into the car OBD 2 port and voila! It took less than 10 minutes, works like a charm, and costs 50 - 70% less to operate than my other devices. The Vyncs system is what I'll use in the future and I can't recommend it enough.

Ok this product save my money, now i know everything happens in my car ( like engine problems and etc), and my son sometimes use my car and i can see what happens fast.
I can’t believe how well this works... True value is hard to find but this product exceeds my expectations. I get real time data and positioning. If the vehicle leaves my defined area I get a text. If speeding occurs I get a text. I can track every detail of every trip this vehicle makes and all for the one time cost. I am more than pleased. Vehicle tracking at its best!
This Vyncs system was very ez to plug in & set up on the user friendly app! I ordered a second device for my 2nd vehicle, which I set up in less than 5 minutes. The only minor issue I experienced during installation was that the device sticks out a bit far and only allowed an inch or so clearance just above my emergency brake pedal. This might make an experienced car thief a bit suspicious and allow him to easily identify the device and simply remove it. The simple fix was to purchase an extension flat ribbon cable adapter which allowed me to relocate the device about 12" further out of sight beneath the steering wheel. The OBD port now just looks like it has a factory cap or plug installed. I used a zip tie and extra strength double back tape to secure it...problem solved.
I don't know what to say about it that hasn't already been said. I use it to keep tabs on my elderly mother. Another great feature is the ability to remotely monitor vehicle stats so I can tell her when its time to get her oil changed, etc.
