My laptop storage was almost full recently and since I take a lot of pictures, download a bunch of songs and PowerPoint slides for school, I decided to purchase an external hard drive to store important documents and pictures. I got the 320 gb Kesu external hard drive, and it was the best decision ever. It was so easy to transfer the files into the drive (you literally just plug in the usb into your pc laptop and you just drag the files into the usb folder)!! I think everyone should invest in an external drive and I love how affordable these are! One downside is that I wish the usb cord was longer, but other than that, I’m very satisfied with this purchase!
What caught my attention immediately was the price and also the amount of gigabytes! BUT when I received it, what caught my attention was the good quality of the hard drive. It also came in good packaging and a manual! You will not even need the manual because they made it so easy to use. It's literally plug and play, you plug the cable into the drive and then your specified device and then it works! Right away when you feel it in your hands it feels like a durable, but so light hard drive. It feels very premium, but it is so affordable! It just blew me away when I transferred a game file to the hard drive, I thought I made a mistake and transferred a different file because it was so quick. The game file was about 3.5 gb and it transferred so very quickly. I highly recommend this as a buy, especially if you need it for your xbox one/ game console. I bought another one for my xbox after testing it out on my macbook pro. The price is so good and the quality for this hard drive is so sweet.
I bought this product as an extended storage for my PS4. Plugged it in. Ps4 prompted me to format (it did say this hard drive may not have fast enough transfer speeds but I have experienced no issues so far. Will update back if problems arise.
This 500 GB external hard drive is exactly what I needed to use as a backup drive for my MacBook Air, using Time Machine.
Note: the warranty includes warnings that the manufacturer is *not* liable for any lost data in the event of product failure - no matter what - and that one must keep a backup stored in at least 1 other place. That being said, at this price point, I am very happy with its performance (as of 8/27/2018 I've been using it for less than a month, so if things change in the future, I will update this review).
Size: it is very close in size to the Seagate Backup Drive Slim Plus that I was using before it pooped out, for no discernable reason, after 4 years. Apparently, this is to be expected with external HDD's. If I could afford it, I'd definitely prefer to use an external SSD, because they have a MUCH lower rate of failure.
I am an IT guy, working and fixing computers is my bread and butter. I use external portable storage to back up the entire computer drive. Gave this one a try after my WD passbook died 2 weeks ago. This KESU external drive is way better than my other expensive WD. I transferred almost 400GB of files last night. This is quiet, and fast as expected. Not sure what is the back plane they use in this device, but this is comparable to solid state drive. I guess true USB 3.0 made a huge difference. I like the form factor, it is light and slim. This is true plug and play. I recommend this product.

This is my 1st 1TB external hardrive bought in Amazon. It doesn't make noise like my 500gb hard drives does. The blue light shut off which is just a new thing to me when I guest it is not in use. It is compact easy to carry. The front or top part look shinny which make look expensive. Thank you.Amazon for fast shipping!
Ordered this hard drive as I needed a quick addition of storage to my computer systems. I use this as an external storage drive and it easily allows me to transfer files between my mac and chromebook. Very well built, feels sturdy and has a cool grain desing on the front. Includes a usb cord that allows me to quickly plugin. Also appears to write data very quickly, so transferring large amounts of data happens fast. Overall pleased with this purchase
I had over 15 gig of files I had purchased for my embroidery machine stored on another external hard drive. It failed. I was able to get some of them back and ordered this to replace it. I have had for several months and it is performing as expected. I did, however use yet another form of back up, just in case.
So far, so good. I was so disappointed in the failure rate when I was hunting a small drive to backup my new laptop. My older drives were pretty slow so really wanted something to use just for backup. Fingers crossed, this works and is easy to P&P. I have used it 3 times so far to backup and addend with no issues.
***update Feb 2019. I am able to plug this in any time, back up new files, then unplug. Works very smoothly and consistently so I upgraded its value.
The Hard Drive is small and easy to carry around but the I would expect the cable to be longer. There was one time I brought it to school and couldn't use it because the computer in the lab is built in and the cable is too short to connect to the CPU behind the lock table. Also, the connection is a special type hook between the usb plug and portable hard drive, so if you lost the cable then it can be used any more, instead of purchasing another one or ~$6 in Walmart. I's good comparing to a regular heavy hard drive that install in my CPU.
The only I thing I don't like is the capacity of the hard drive. I purchased the 250GB portable hard drive but the capacity can only hold 232 GB as you can see in the picture. I know there is some space that used to store the internal data. However, 7.2% lost of the memory space is a lot comparing too the advertisement.
