I have been a big fan of this coffee for years. Subscribe and save it for a more cost effective use of money. However, I noticed about 1 to 3 out of a box of 96 will be defective and not good coffee flavor and before they are brewed they have a deflated top compared to the rest of the order. Seemed like the number of the bad ones per batch was getting pretty high when I had four of them in one order. I have since moved on to a different brand of coffee where the k-cup is bio degradable as my main source of coffee and I'll order these in smaller batches to be able to ethically or morally return it if I happen to see I have a bad k-cup in an order of 12 or something.
Pike Place is one of my favorite brews of coffee. It is considered a medium roast, but will stand toe to toe with a number of dark roast brands. The flavor is rich with that nice deep nearly dark roast flavor without the bitter after taste left in the back of your throat that many coffee brands tend to leave. My husband, a huge fan of dark roast, has more than once nabbed the last pod of Pike Place even though there were plenty of other darker roasts available to him. Yes, he has gotten more than a few glares over the years as a result. This is one of those coffees that you can drink as is, no sugar or cream. The price is a better value than when purchasing this exact item in a big box store. You might be saving a few cents per pod, but in the long run, it all adds up. As my grandma used to say, "even the crumbs are bread".
Usually buy the French Roast K-cups from Costco, but for some reason my local warehouse stopped carrying it. Saw this on AMAZON and was skeptical about ordering due to the several negative reviews that were posted. I ended up ordering and the product is just as advertised. I received 4 boxes of 24 and the expiration date is 7 months away. I was also a little confused about "Torrefaction Francaise" wording on the box and on the pods, but figured it was labeled that way for sale in Canada/Quebec. The coffee is great and tastes the same to me as the product I'm used to buying. Will purchase it again if Costco doesn't start carrying it again.
While I don’t doubt that some reviewers may have had subpar experiences (that’s life, sadly), I’d like to smash with a dictionary the typing fingers of those who say “torrefaction” is the reason. The labels are written in both English and French, and “TORRÉFACTION FRANÇAISE” IS FRENCH FOR “FRENCH ROASTING.” It is not some mysterious process or snake-oil ingredient — it’s another language, professor. So take a break from the conspiracy theories for a bit and order a French-to-English dictionary while you enjoy a cup of the exact same French Roast you always buy. (Although, decaf might be worth considering.) As for my product review, I am pleased to report that I received exactly what I ordered — the very same Starbucks French Roast k-cups that are sold everywhere, but at a cheaper price! Hooray!
Ok. So I got my order of 96 pods today. !!!!! Tastes great. I use half and half with honey.... to just neutralize any bitterness. I love it strong..... but didn’t drink coffee till I was 45. (17 yrs ago)
Anyway, it was shelved since October 2018 and this time tastes great like the Walmart pods.... AND was labeled correctly.
Is it normal for coffee pods to be made so far in advance and shelved till they are sold?
Not complainig!!!😊
Just wondering.
Then I wondered how long Baristas coffee sets on shelves before THEY get their supplies.🙄
Thankyou though.
The “sweetener” is the healthiest option I’ve found. The coffee is strong enough, thank God, that I can’t taste the honey. I don’t care for flavoring in my coffees. 😬
Stevia is bitter.... and other sweeteners pretty unhealthy. YOLO

Description
From our first store in Seattle's Pike Place Market to our coffeehouses around the world, customers requested a freshly brewed coffee they could enjoy throughout the day. So in 2008 our master blenders and roasters created it for you, a blend so consistent and harmonious that no single characteristic dominates--or disappears. A smooth, well-rounded blend of Latin American coffees with subtly rich flavors of cocoa and toasted nuts, it's perfect for every day. Bring home rich, full flavor in every cup. Designed for use in all Keurig K-Cup brewers, these single-serve pods are made with the same coffee brewed in Starbucks cafés. Pike Place is a registered trademark of The Pike Place Market PDA, used under license. Love the coffee, hate the price. Tried it the first time because I was tired of what I had been ordering. Found it to be superior to other pod coffee although it cost almost double. Reordered and didn't pay enough attention to the bait and switch tactic that Amazon pulls out on occasion. Subscriptions!!!! My reorder cost $15 more than my first order. I quit. Not worth the indulgence. Victor All French Roast costs .30/cup from Big Lots. Starbucks? .70/cup. Simple math.
I was a little hesitant to buy this because there are so many negative reviews...but I am so happy with my purchase! I recieved 4 boxes of 24 pike place. It was packaged as prescribed and the coffee tastes fabulous. I’ll def be ordering again!
My favorite coffee from Starbucks, and my default cup of joe in the morning. Bold, but not bitter; I find the blond varieties too weak for my taste. Buying in bulk saves me that half-mile trip to Starbucks at 8:00 in the morning, and the cost per cup is way cheaper than buying in the retail store.
Once I ordered this (I got the French roast), it took almost ten days to get to me which was fine but I started reading recent bad reviews and got worried. My order arrived in boxes as described and is nowhere close to the expiration date, so my daughter and I are both happy. It was a great price, so I went to order a bunch more, but it has gone up about $10. Still a decent price so I may still re-order.
my favorite flavor! And getting 96$ for the price was pretty good it was almost like $0.67 cents a pod which is pretty good considering when you purchase smaller quantities they cost like anywhere from $1.00 to - $1.25 a pod.....it's just not worth if it you drink coffee every day and the same kind to purchase smaller boxes.
