It is impossible to find the "perfect" protein shake - I have tried. But in terms of overall ingredients, taste, texture, and nutrition, I would say this is as good as it gets - primarily due to the no-hormone, no-antibiotic grass-fed dairy, the low sugar content, and the absence of undesirables like guar gum, carrageenan, soy protein isolate, canola oil, aspartame, or sucralose.
I also like the regular (green and white label) Orgain shakes but this version has less sugar and a higher protein content. I get both the Chocolate and the Vanilla flavors on Subscribe and Save, and alternative between the two flavors depending on the day. Overall, I think the Chocolate is the superior flavor, but the Vanilla is o.k. too.
One great advantage of these shakes is that they taste good at room temperature, so you can carry them around in a backpack. I have recommended these to family members, as they are a healthier alternative to Boost or Ensure (not to mention Premier, Pure Protein, Special K, Muscle Milk, Svelte, Atkins, or Slimfast). My 85-year-old Dad ended up liking these and also has them on Subscribe and Save.
I started working with the nutritionist last January so it has been about eight months and since drinking Orgain protein drinks every morning instead of skipping breakfast I have lost about 42 pounds. My nutritionist recommended this protein drink because it is premade and does not contain artificial sugars like most of the other ones on the market I love it this is made with Stevia all the other ones on the market have many chemicals that cause me to have migraines.
I have systemic lupus and Sjogren's syndrome among other autoimmune diseases. I practically live on these shakes along with Vega snack bars. They taste great, no after taste or . grittiness found in similar products. I also buy Orgain nutrition shakes in choc. fudge. Do not like Orgain bars at all- strange texture and taste. I use both flavors to make shakes- before using Orgain, my blood work was awful-I was prescribed folate, vitamin d, and other supplements. After one month, blood work normal with no supplements- just Orgain! Doctor wrote a prescription so I can deduct cost from taxes.
I've tried so many protein shakes, and I know some people are totally into plant-based, but plant-based protein shakes are the worst to me. Every one of them I've tried is thick, gritty, and/or tastes bad. This shake is milk protein based, which I know some people can't have, but if you can have dairy this shake actually tastes good - like chocolate milk. 4g sugar is not bad, and it has 3g fiber and 20g protein. Plus it's quick and convenient, and I don't have time for anything more for breakfast most mornings. This is a win.
I love these! They are all natural ingredients and they taste good. I just had weight loss VGS surgery and my stomach can't handle any other shakes than these.

I have tried the Orgain powdered protein shake mix and the company is based locally so I thought I would give these shakes a try as we enjoy the powdered protein. The taste and consistency is great and there is reassurance the company is using high quality ingredients. Much easier to drink one of these after a bike ride than to deal with the mess of making a shake. I wish there was a little more protein and there is a very slight stevia/sweet aftertaste but I can easily look past that. Will order again!

I am admitting up front that I am new to the protein shake world, but I have tried a powder mix variety that was considerably cheaper, and HORRIBLE tasting, and came to Amazon to read reviews and take a chance on this particular version of a protein shake. I was not disappointed! Love the taste, texture, and all the benefits of getting a blast of protein in one smooth drink. I'm not one to break out the blender everyday and throw in everything but the kitchen sink to make a smoothie. I want something easy-peasy to open, drink, and enjoy. This really fits the bill. I ordered the vanilla for my husband, (he's not a chocolate guy, crazy huh? ) and he also likes his shake. About the blender, I actually may try to make a frosty of sorts with some ice cubes and the shake, just to see what all the fuss is about blending stuff. :-) I've already re-ordered another shipment and will probably continue to do so.
If you tasted a protein drink ever in your life chances most are sub par. Out of all that I have tasted over the years these are the best. I like my a bit sweeter most people so I had a packet of stevia to mine. Try first because you may find the taste is sweet enough. I buy both chocolate and the vanilla regularly only complaint is vanilla is now higher priced than chocolate not sure why unless the whole supply and demand pricing rule. I don't buy the subscribe and save so can give feedback there just my preference to buy when I desire.
Bought these as a meal replacement for breakfast since we never eat when we first get up. It's a great tasting protein shake that is filling and energizing and great for good nutrition on the go. I put a couple in the fridge the night before and we each grab one in the morning. I like that these are gluten free and non gmo.
