Decent construction, appear that they will hold up, .....Installed two years ago now, and they're out in the elements a good part of the year, and are holding up so far. I treat them with no respect whatsoever, and can't really demand much from such an inexpensive option as a boat speaker, but so far they're earning a good reputation. Decent, not great, sound and apparently pretty robust construction!! A good value, they are. Update year three: Replaced original two speakers (not the Boss 3rd and 4th reviewed above) with the same Boss 6.5" and everything's working out fine. Appreciate the fact that the mounting hardware is stainless steel for durability.
Good speaker for the price. Used in my boat. Sizing wasn't exactly perfect, but with a slight alteration I was about to fit them. I used them as straight replacements so I didn't have to do any rewiring. Make sure you check measurements if you a re-fitting an old unit. My boat had different sized speakers in the cockpit than the cabin. Cockpit was 6.5" and Cabin 5.25".
For my application, replace front speakers on my Victory Vision motorcycle. They are a bit over sized and would not fit the 5.25" speaker holes. BUT, these speaker did fit nicely into the rear speaker location. ?? I believe the larger basket design of this speaker is the reason it won't fit in the forward location.
That being said, these speakers are a nice upgrade from my factory speakers. They actually sound nice with out being too tinney/bright at high volumes. The poly cone construction and sealed foam surround means no water will damage this speaker. Worth the cash, love same day shipping, and I am overall very pleased with this.
The speakers sound OK which is what I was expecting for the price. It would have been nice to have spade connectors included. Waterproofing is from a gasket 3/4” back from the edge. Time will tell.
Update-the speakers were installed on the outside of my Keystone 5th wheel. They were too deep by about 1/2” . I solved the problem by letting them stick out into a cabinet. See picture
These speakers were a major upgrade of the external speakers originally built into my toy-hauler! I used the "Universal 1" Plastic Depth Ring Adapter/ Spacer for S/2 5.25 "- 6" Car Speakers", which fit very well, to install these slightly deeper but much better speakers. I purchased these parts myself and I'm not affiliated with anybody!

Great speakers for a great price! Purchased these through Warehouse Deals for $11! Replaced our blown outside speakers on our 5th wheel. Paired them with the Universal 1" Plastic Depth Ring Adapter also found here on Amazon and they fit perfectly. So happy about this purchase!
These seem like great speakers but couldn’t use them on the outside of my 2015 Keystone Outback travel trailer because the base of the speaker creates the diameter of the speaker to be larger than 6”. Would work great in a 6.25 or 6.5” opening. Looks like you need at least a 3” depth.
For the price these are pretty good. No you are not going to get Bose sound. These are boss haha. Anyway i mounted these in place of the pile of junk pyramid speakers that came with my RV. The old speakers literally turned to dust! These 2 way boss speakers sound so much better! My speakers are mounted outside the RV and i don't know how long they will last against the elements. However for 17 bucks if I get a year or 2 i will be happy. If they die well ill spend another 17 bucks, I did crank em and they held up pretty good. Good deal for some rock and roll at the lake! Thanks Amazon for selling these.
I don't know why people are needing to cut such large holes to install these? My cutout was 5 5/8 if I remember right, it was 5 something anyway. At first I thought I was going to have to add a amp or sub for decent sound out in the open but with just one pair of these and the jbl dash hole stereo these rock.. You can't find a better sounding pair of speakers for 25$.. I like them so much I'm adding two more!
Installed these in my off-road golf cart. Installation was simple and the I was surprised by how loud these speakers can get. The speakers are exposed to the elements and so far they seem to be holding up against the wild temp changes here and the rain. Keep in mind I've only had these for about a week at the time of writing this review. May update later.
