It may be a little too early in the game to write a review of a printer, but after a couple months I'm completely impressed with this printer. For one thing, the toner that came with it, is lasting WAY longer than I expected. I bought another set of toner cartridges, and months later have yet to install them. The copier/scanner function is superb. GOOD copying and clarity, and pretty fast for a machine of this size. One of my favorite perks is that you can email something to it, and it will print out. You can send an email with a photo attachment to it's proprietary email address, and only the photo prints out, not the email. This has been especially useful in our particular situation, with therapy happening in our home and therapists needing to send documents over.
All in all, I'm thrilled. The cost of toner is absolutely ridiculous, but I found a certified remanufactured source for toner cartridges that includes a guarantee, so I'm hoping to at least save a little that way.
One downside - you need to connect via USB to configure the wireless if you don't have WPS available on your WiFi router or (in my case) AP. Reportedly this printer isn't a fan of Windows 7 over USB, which shouldn't be a problem since Win 10 is free...
Aside from the above note, which was easily addressed with my laptop, this thing is great. My (included) black toner is reporting 40%ish remaining toner, so I ran a report. We've printed about 600 pages already. What does this mean? The toners that come with it don't appear to be "starter" toners, so the printer apparently comes with $200 worth of toner in it.
It's quiet, it calmly spits out paper when asked, it has plenty of paper capacity. I spent years trying to convince my wife that inkjet is terrible and laser is the way to go. After less than two weeks with this new printer she wholeheartedly agrees. My only regret is I waited so long, but I guess that ended up as a win since I got this nice color MFP for a very reasonable price.
So far so good...received printer yesterday, using it today. Printer set up was super easy and I can print from my iPad, iPhone, home and work laptop. I didn't even need to connect the printer to my Ethernet as wi-fi is built in. Print quality seems good too. I'm hoping the cartridges don't dry up like they did on my old printers. I will provide an update after I've used the printer for a while.
I had the printer set up and working in 10 minutes. I printed 2 photos from my phone in 20 minutes. The prints were sharp and basically perfect for being printed on regular paper. I printed the 9 black and white pages my old printer died trying to print and they were perfect as well. I like this printer. It makes a clicking noise while starting up but prints quietly. Not enough to take a star.
Trying to setup/install to my Mac was frustrating at first. Using the included Disk, it downloaded a "HP Easy Start.app" that worked until tried to connect to my wifi (Can't connect and a brief "Bonjour" error). I tried everything: turning on and off everything including my router = no luck. Then I found this printer on the hp support page, but it wouldn't download drivers for Sierra OS so I used the ones for 10.10, worked!
It downloaded a version of the "HP Easy Start.app" that worked well, even automatically updating my printer list!
Hope HP updates their Easy Start for Mac OS 10.11-13.
Prints and scans beautifully, reserving my 5th star after durability is assured.

The print quality is excellent in both black and color. The setup was extremely easy. I had no issues setting up to Wi-Fi.
Works well so far, though the instructions for set up are vague and do not match on-screen prompts...makes it very confusing. Once I figured it out the printer works great...we'll see how long the included toners last...I don't expect them to be high yield. Much better investment than inkjet....I don't print enough to utilize inkjet, they dry out. Laser or LED is the way to go.
An excellent small printer. Good color and black & white reproduction. The scan feature works well.
While testing after installation, I encountered a problem printing photos (only 1/2 of the image would print) I chatted with Cyrus from Amazon support, we tried a couple of things that had no effect, I thought I was going to have to return the printer (an easy process, by the way) I got to thinking about it, and it made no sense to me that it printed everything except photos without a problem... It turns out that my photo software (Roxio PhotoSuite) is somehow incompatible with this printer? I tried a different photo program and it prints flawlessly.. so I cancelled the return...
It has a few minor drawbacks like having to remove the paper to feed envelopes, but nothing I can't live with.
I have seen some mention of high toner costs, but I doubt it will be as high as my old inkjet that used more ink cleaning the nozzles than it did for actual printing...
EDIT: You don't have to remove the paper to print an envelope, if you center the envelope on top of the paper stack it feeds and prints OK...
This was for home use. About 6 months ago, I decided to upgrade from my 10 year old Canon inkjet printer/scanner when a Windows 10 update caused the scanner for in the old printer to no longer function. I wanted another combo printer/scanner, and was going to get another inkjet one, but I saw that this color laser/scanner combo was fairly inexpensive.
I am very glad I went for this upgrade. Printing is so much faster and quieter, and the quality is great. Pretty close to magazine quality. No more smudges like I was getting with the inkjet printer. I print about 20 pages at a time once or twice a week, and this finishes the job in a minute or so vs the much longer wait with the inkjet. I got paper jams every two or three printings with the inkjet, but have yet to have a paper jam with this printer.
I like the bar graphs on the printer display that constantly show exactly how much of each color toner is left. After 6 months with printing say 100 pages a month, all the bar graphs are showing still over 50% remaining. The fact that each color has its own cartridge is a plus as well, because on the old inkjet I would often run out of one color and have to replace the entire 3-color cartridge.
