ARCTIC MX-4 - Thermal Compound Paste For Coolers | Heat Sink Paste | Composed of Carbon Micro-particles | Easy to Apply | High Durability - 4 Grams

I purchased a floor model gaming laptop and got a great deal. The floor models run all day so I had to clean it up and upgrade it with a few things. The original stock thermal paste was barely there when I opened up the computer to reveal the CPU/GPU. My temps were extremely high when the computer was idle. After I applied a pea sized dot of this to the CPU and a line of it to the GPU, I checked the performance. I literally dropped around 20 degrees in idle. I couldn't believe it. I must have added a ridiculous amount of life to this computer just by replacing the stock paste and applying the MX-4. I was going to just put a thermal pad on it, but I'm glad that I went with this paste. 100%!

One of my older laptops has been having problems shutting down from overheating, and often simply because Windows was trying to update (again). I tried a cheaper (maybe a dollar less, tops) paste at a local shop thinking that heck, it's an old laptop, doesn't need anything fancy. Situation did not improve. With the MX-4 it seems like average temperatures have dropped 3-5C, and under high load comparatively around 10C. Getting the new paste on is fairly straightforward, and having no cure time means you don't have to wonder if you got it right the first time.

Laptop still runs a little hot (old fan isn't moving air as well as it should, I suspect), but it's now able to run at more than 24% CPU load without crashing, and I haven't had a heat-related system crash in the two weeks since. Glad I got this, wish I did it earlier.

The tube was easy to use, it went on quick and they had two spreaders. Seems to be working fine, the machine is running good; It is older Optiplez 755 with quad core Intel processor, and the heat sink material on it has baked to a hard cake. Good price, got here quick.
Note: I put this on my CPU and started playing Diablo III. Because the fan isn't coming on (this was before I even bought the Paste) I could play maybe 5 minutes before the CPU shutdown from overheating. After I cleaned off the old stuff that was like a hardened clay consistency, and spread this on, even though the fan is still not working, I can play diablo for nearly 1/2 an hour with no fan. That alone tells me this stuff works very well.

It's such a simple, easy thing to do that I can't imagine why someone wouldn't use a quality paste like this. I tried running AI Suite when I first got my computer with stock and it wouldn't go over 10% overclock; I replaced the heat sink paste included with the AIO cooler and it went right up to 15%. Do yourself a favor and help protect your expensive computer components with better heat transfer ability and longer lifespan paste.

I use it with my arctic liquid freeze 240 aio cooler, since I am doing a rebuild in another case I needed thermal paste.
Why screw around with other products when this one has been doing so well?
I am actually excited to do a total system tear down and rebuild in this new case since I will have room in it to set the liquid freeze 240 up in a push pull instead of just push. I did not want to have to cut my GPU shroud to squeeze it in, so I left the pull fans off and it performs amazing with this mx4 that came with it like never breaking 35-40c even in warmer room temps.

Description

Thermal Compound for All CoolersEasy to ApplyWith an ideal consistency, the MX-4 is very easy to use, even for beginners. The possibilities for its application and the most effectively way to avoid voids between CPU and cooler we show you in the video.Safe Application:It does not contain any metallic particles so electical conductivity would not be an issue. Unlike silver and copper compound, it ensures that contact with any electrical pins would not result in damage of any sort.High Durability :In contrast to metal and silicon thermal compound, the performance of MX-4 does not compromise over time. Once applied, you do not need to apply it a second time as it will last at least for 8 years. Value for MoneyA high performance thermal compound perfect for system builders, there's no suprise that the MX-4 exceeds your expectations for its low price tag. Thermal Conductivity 8.5 W/(mK) Viscosity 870 poise Density 2.50 g/cm³ Volume Resistivity 3.8 x 1013 Ω-cm

I got a 12C difference in using the MX-4 compared to others ive tried. I highly recommend this. Using this with Corsair H100i V2 and intel i7 8700K. Temps are 22C at idle and 55 at full load.

I bought a larger size tube of Arctic MX-4 thermal paste because I am performing the delid/relid process (To apply liquid metal) under the IHS on a bunch of Socket 1150/1151 CPUs. Obviously this process requires removing the CPU, and when the CPU goes back into the computer new thermal paste must be applied. The first delid/relid was performed on an i7-8700k. The liquid metal brought temperatures way down, and this Arctic MX-4 doesn't "get in the way" in terms of preventing performance gains achieved by using liquid metal under the IHS. It does a good job of getting the heat from the top of the IHS to the Noctua NH-D15. I just needed a good, but not absurdly expensive thermal paste. No complaints so far.

Used it on a Raspberry Pi that uses a Kuma Snes case with a large heatsink. The kuma case has a large heatsink but fails to include thermal paste and was overheating the Raspberry Pi 3 (overheat icon) after a few minutes of use. After applying this thermal paste between the CPU and GPU and the large heatsink the overheating problems disappeared. I will use this thermal pase in all my project going forward. Excellent product.

I have an older computer with a slightly newer 8 year old Nvidia graphics card. In spite of their age, both work great for me and for the uses I subject them to. About a week ago my computer would lock up while playing one of my few games, requiring a hard reboot. After researching I opened my computer box and removed the card to clean it. It was filthy with dust... my bad! Even after cleaning it the same game would lock up the computer. More research only returned the suggestion that it was time to replace the graphics card. I started looking into a replacement card but came across a video where a guy was showing how to clean graphics cards. In the comments someone wrote in that he/she had a graphics card that would overheat within a minute of loading a game, had followed his instructions on cleaning the card and yet the computer was still locking up. Exactly my scenario. The video guy simply replied "you need to replace the thermal grease".

I figured that for minimal cost I would try this from Arctic. I received it today and replaced the grease on both the graphics card and the cpu in about 1/2 hour. OMG! I could tell the difference the second I pressed the ON button. It's obvious the computer is running cooler based on fan speed. At idle it's running about 10°C cooler than before. The game runs fine again while the computer runs much quieter. So this product literally saved me $$$ over the replacement of the graphics card. It makes me wonder how many of the "you need to replace the graphics card" people spent potentially hundreds of $$$ for a new card when this might have done the trick. Absolutely, without a doubt, very pleased!

I bought this because my never opened before ps3 was overheating and shutting down because of it. Knowing little about computers in general I bought this in hopes it would be as easy as applying thermal paste to the processor. The thermal paste comes with two small applicators that really help even the paste down to the processor. I ran my ps3 for 4:30:00 while watching Netflix and it didn't shut down. I even went as far as leaving it on while I slept for approximately 8 hours and it was still on when I woke up and not hot to the touch like before. I was surprise on how well it worked and now I will have my ps3 working for a few more years thankfully.
