I've got several charter boats, so saltwater is the only environment we see. These particular speakers last very well.. What will surprise you is the sound quality! If you're not looking to win a competition with a million watts, these sound just as good as the pioneer marine speakers we used to run.. Definitely good quality, clear sound with a small amp hooked to them or good head with built in amp. I highly recommend them. But I'm only on the ocean 170 days a year. :-)
These speakers were installed on my outdoor bbq island. They are easy to install, mount flush and low profile, and sound great! For the price, you can’t go wrong. Sound the same as the more expensive Kenwood speakers I returned after comparing the two.
These are decent marine speakers. They are great speakers for $32 though. They will start to distort as you crank it up loud enough to just barely here as you cruise (inboard 2004 Bayliner 175). I turned the base way down and this helped a little. Definitely a white boy's speakers!
These speakers sound as good as my original ones, fit exactly the holes from my previous 6.5" speakers and look nice. Installation is simple. I swapped out the screws that came with them with stainless steel. So far so good but they have only been in my boat a month, initial take seems to be good. I hope they last 18 years like my old ones.
I built a stereo cooler to use at the river and these speakers gave me more than I needed can hear them 100+ yards away clear audio and waterproof easy to install and they’ve lasted me 3 years so far
