I've had this on subscription for several years now and the flavor and texture was always great. However my most recent can was very different from previous ones. The color was dark, almost a chocolate color and the flavor tasted bitter and artificial, texture like pudding. Usually it is light tan colored and creamy.
Hopefully they haven't changed the recipe, if my next subscription is the same, it'll be cancelled for sure.
I added a bit of cream while heating up. It was just enough for half a pound of pasta.
I've had several dinner parties with vegetarians in attendance and this came in very handy as a dish that satisfied all. I serve it with fettucine and stretch it out each can by adding a mushroom broth, finely chopped porcini or shiitake mushroom and a bit of half and half.
Delicious. A little goes a long way. A will dilute with white sauce the next time I use with pasta.
Purchased for children's Xmas baskets. They love these. Bought these last year for the first time, and received praises from my children on them.

Great product. The best secret ingredient to any pasta dish. Only complaint is cans have dents in them. They just need to be packaged better.
