This is by far the best red kit wine that we have found to date. The "California Trinity Red" is a favorite in my house!! My wife and her friends absolutely love this wine!! I have been asked on a number of occasions if this is a $15-20 bottle of wine (of course, it has to sit for 6-8 months to get to this level). I think the aspect my wife loves about this wine is it does not have to sit as long as some of the others. It has great flavor and doesn't go flat if you open it after a month. But like most of these kits, this one improves a great deal with age. The "sharpness" and intensity seems to wear off as it ages and it gains a tremendously palatable bouquet. I think I have made this kit 5 times now. I normally add several ounces of extra french oak and 1-2 ounces of american oak to give it a bit more body. I also use a much higher end cabernet yeast, "White Labs WLP760 Cabernet Red Yeast", and I think this adds a ton of character to the wine. All in all, for the money, this is probably the best red I have been able to make out of these kits. A definite buy for the wine maker in your family!
I made this kit with relative ease, as the instructions were clear and concise. After about two months of bottle conditioning, I tried the wine and was very disappointed. It was thin and overly fruity in a jammy way. I gave about 20 of the bottles to my dad who'll drink anything and forgot about it. About a month ago, I decided to try a bottle again after the remaining 9 or so had conditioned for a year. It was fantastic! Lots of body and structure, with potential for more development.
Shipping as expected. I’ve made this before and it turned out very good. We’ll find out in 6 months if this one is good too.
Delish as always
The World Vineyard line of wine kits from Winexpert represent a set of moderately-priced kits that produce a high quality wine. Unlike some of the pricier wine kits (such as those in the Eclipse series) these can be bottled within four weeks of mixing and are ready to be enjoyed within two to three months. (I would personally wait longer than that, perhaps six months after bottling, since the wine will continue to develop for up to a year after bottling.) The wine kit comes with explicit instructions for mixing, racking, stabilizing, and bottling. The entire process should not take more than three hours of your time.
The "California Trinity Red" is a dry wine with medium oak intensity and medium-full body. It is a blend of three grape varieties--Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The wine pairs well with roasts and steaks.

very nice wine kit. bulk aged 5 months then bottled. After 2 months in the bottle I was quite pleased. Worth ordering.
I only bottled this about a month ago but it already tastes incredible! But honestly, I have never had a Winexpert kit that I have been unhappy with. They are all easy to make and turn out so good that I can't keep my friends out of my wine cellar! I'll be back for another Trinity Red kit soon!
One of my favorite wines.
Great flavor
