This wire is legit! Soft, flexible, lots of fine strands, sounds great. It's the perfect speaker wire for car audio. I thought the soft insulation might be hard to pull, but it pulled just fine for me under some carpet, and didn't get caught up once in the process. The 100 foot spool will last a long time unless you're doing lots of installs or wiring an RV or something else long. Yeah it's not pure copper, and yeah it's not 12 gauge. But for 95% of people this wire will do the job... unless you're a hardcore audiophile or building competition systems. Don't fall into the trap of buying expensive and unneeded heavier gauge wire. If you do the math most of the time the heavy gauge expensive wire simply isn't needed.
This worked perfect. Great product. I use it on an older Yamaha A/V receiver so I could see the set up menu. I use it in conjunction with a HDMI Switcher (4k / 60hz, HDCP 2.2) with a single fiber optic audio out. This set up gives me the ability to use my older Yamaha Flagship receiver that has no HDMI ports. Also, It did not deserve that single 1 star rating it received. That customer said they purchased the wrong product not that there was a problem.
INITIAL REVIEW:
Advertising:
This speaker wire comes exactly as described and pictured.
Shipping & Item condition:
Arrived on time and in good working condition with no damaging.
Price:
$15.99 - This wire, for the gauge and amount of feet you receive, appeared to be some of (if not the) cheapest priced speaker wire I could find.
Build Quality/Durability:
The wire is true to size and has a nice thick sleeve that has a good feel to it. I was considering getting those fancy-looking braided sleeves, but the quality is good enough that they are unnecessary. They split and removed easily as well (though I had a wire stripper, which helped to get a clean strip/cut).
Performance:
I have not yet seen any performance issues with these wires. I'm not an audiophile, nor do I have special audio tools to measure their performance. Considering, however, that I ran about 20 feet around my room, and under my carpet, and still hear no issues with my surround speakers, I'd say they are up to par.
Design/Features:
Not much to say in this department. They're speaker wires. What you see is what you get.
Overall:
Very impressed with the quality-to-price ratio you get with these wires. They look good, feel good, sound good. No complaints here!
I love this cable. At first I feared the color would be glossy and horrendous - but once you get it out of the shiny plastic it is not glossy at all. The two-tone brown\blue makes it super easy to keep track of positive\negative and the sound quality is excellent. I used it for the rear speakers in my home theater and for bi-amping a pair of vintage Snell speakers in a music listening room.
Get yourself two spools to make it easy to wire pairs of speakers. And if you need a rig to help pay it out I simply used four Black and Decker clamps to hold the spools on a 3/4" auger bit. Worked perfectly.
Finally came after a weather delay, no fault of the seller. True 14 gauge, I've seen others with a tiny plastic center. Obviously I wish it was a copper alloy instead of clad, but for the price it's great. Running 2 50ft runs to my surrounds under the baseboard. Just enough flexibility and grab. Note, I'm not sure this would be good to pull through something such as the carpet as the tac might be too much. Very satisfied.

Ya, its good wire. Hows the sound? Sounds good. Does it look pretty? Sure, looks good. What about durability? It seems to be lasting. Price? eehh, Have I paid less for wire of this gauge / length before? Yes. Was it the cheapest wire I could find on Amazon and in the few stores I looked at prior to making this purchase? Yes. Could it be priced lower and the seller still make a nice profit? Absolutely. Was it still a good deal? Yea. Would I buy it again? As long as I couldn't find a better deal. Would I recommend it? Yes. Ok so, lets talk stars, I give it 4, which is good. Especially for speaker wire. To get 5 stars out of me to product must go above and beyond my expectations and be priced better then fair. Excellent wire, 4 stars, rack-em.
This wire is perfect for most applications. I finally ran speaker wire to the back of the house by the pool and this stuff is so easy to work with! It doesn't keep the spooled memory so it lays flat very nicely. I've used lots of speaker wire in my day and wish I knew about this stuff sooner. The coating on the wire is superior to anything I've ever experienced, easily conforms and passes through a hole without binding up. Don't hesitate to purchase, you won't be disappointed.
Very easy to work with and a great value when compared to the overpriced 14 gauge junk sold in bulk at Lowes. The wire and insulation if very flexible and supple which make for easy installation. I rewired a 5.1 sound system and two 2-channel systems, so a 100 feet of wire is almost gone. Initially, I thought the would be too much wire, but a real bargain for the price.
This is really nice wire. The insulation is soft and the wire is flexible. It's easy to strip and work with. I like that the insulation is two different colors because it makes installation a lot easier. I had banana plugs on and ready to be hooked up in a matter of minutes.
It seems to be copper washed aluminum. Honestly, I think most people that are buying 14g speaker wire will probably never hear the difference between pure copper and copper washed. I have yet to hear noise from copper washed that was properly installed and used appropriately.
I will say that for as nice as this wire is for my intended purpose (home audio in my living room), the insulation is soft and almost gummy feeling. because it strips so easily I think that its possible to damage it if pulling across metal like wiring up a car. I would have no issues using it but I would use caution and not pull at it like you are hauling up a bucket of concrete.
I feel that I got a good deal for what the wire is and the price point. I would buy it again without hesitation and recommend it to people looking for inexpensive but good quality wire.
