I noticed that most of the poor reviews were due to the quantity of the product. This is a six pound bag and does not include instructions for smaller home machines! I ordered it anyway, and found that I can use a ratio of 1part mix to 2 parts liquid. I don't use water. I use 1 cup whole milk, 1cup heavy cream and 1 cup mix. Also added about 1tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder mixed in with the milk before adding it to the mix , as I thought it was a little too sweet and not quite chocolatey enough. If you try this you may want to pour it through a strainer because I couldn't get all the lumps of cocoa powder to totally dissolve in the milk. Straight from the machine the consistency was a little gummy, but I found it was better after being in the freezer for a few hours.
I followed the directions as well as the suggestions on the paper and this ice cream was magnificent. The key is making sure you let it get REALLY cold before putting it in your machine. I used the Cuisinart Mix It 45. Made wonderful soft serve. I used 1 cup of the powder to 1 1/2 cups of 2% milk and 1 1/4 cups of COLD water. I mixed it up with a whisk and put it in my fridge for about 4-5 hours to make sure it was really cold. Then right before I put it in my machine, I put it in the freezer for about 5-6 minutes.
Turned out wonderful. Definitely going to purchase again.
This tastes great and works well in the cuisinart soft serve machine. It is perfect for those who are lactose intolerant. My only complaint is they don't provide mixing instructions for a small machine. We mix 1 cup of soft serve mix with 2 cups of water and it is perfect for our small machine. It tastes great.
Works great in the cuisinart automatic ice cream machine. I use this as a base before I add fruit, nuts, flavorings, etc. Excellent inexpensive product. I already purchased another 2 bags.
This is not bad since it is a powdered mix that is blended with water. I tried mixing it with dairy- milk, half and half, cream, but it gave it a strange sticky almost stringy texture. We use this as a base and mix it with fruit purees or chocolate or peanut butter and we have made some really great mixes. I like having it on hand because if the craving hits you can mix it and pour it right in the ice cream maker and have decent ice cream in less than an hour. It's not going to be the best premium ice cream you have ever had, but it has a decent vanilla flavor and as a base its great.

Makes great icecream in my cuisinart soft serve icecream maker! Will buy again!
I took the advice of some others in reviews. I use 1 cup of this with 1 and 1/4 cup milk, 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, and a little vanilla. Yum! When it's about done I've taken strawberries that I've blended up and mixed those in. Yum yum! I've also added brownie pieces in with the strawberry. So good! If you love strawberry banana, blend up some frozen strawberries with some fresh bananas. Add that when it's about done. Cut up some more fresh banana and add those pieces in. Mm mmm!!! We love coming up with new ideas! Once we get it gone, I would for sure buy more.
Works pretty much as described. The product dissolves in liquid pretty nicely, not lumpy. Mixing instructions could have been better. They were designed for mixing the entire bag at one time. If you have a small soft-serve machine, there are no useful instructions. Doing some research, I found that one cup of the product mixed with two cups of milk or water worked pretty well.
well tastes good once u figure out how much to use. I have a Cuisinart soft serve machine and it comes out like McDonald's ice creme very smooth. but the cost on here is ridiculous I found out too late that my grocery outlet store or any other restaurant supply store will have it for about $9 or less so shop around first if you can
Makes it very easy to mix ingredients by just adding water.
