I purchased this printer with some reluctance due to the lack of information but was pleasantly surprise to find familiar features(full compatibility) as I had with my R260 Photo Printer. The compact size is nice and the front loading/printing trays are a little more convenient for my small office space needs but there were some difficult and confusing moments initially trying to get the sequence of operations worked out. The drawings were good but the text instructions were a little skimpy. The preliminary setup for print testing was straight forward and luckily the print tests looked good. One of my main interests in this printer is the CD/DVD printing since I had done years of disk printing with my Epson R260 and was concerned that it may have changed over time but I was relieved find that Epson uses the same application(Epson Print CD) for the XP-6000 and the file formats are compatible back to the middle 2000’s(.ec3, .ec4, etc). This enables me to print out any older labels that I had created 10 years ago. The quality of the paper printing is exceptional and the photo paper printing is impressive as always with Epson printers. I have yet to use the scanner and I used all hard wiring to connect to my PC but hope to test WiFi connectivity also. As a side note, having used a Epson R260 Photo printer for over 10 years with the increasing costs of the cartridges, I am happy to see the XP-6000 cartridges are much less in price, almost 35% less. This may not be a real workhorse of a printer but for the price and the features it is a whole lot of printer for the buck.
I am pleased with this printer. Setup was easy but I did watch some videos prior to installing after reading some reviews about having difficulty setting it up. Calibration took some time but was pretty simple to do. I didn't have any issues connecting wirelessly. I would recommend this printer.
I bought this printer here on Amazon 3 months ago for around $80 and I have been using it regularly to print color planner pages, make copies, and for assorted printing. I have not tried photos at all yet but it seems like it would print good quality photos. The color copies that I've printed have been very high quality. It prints on both sides if you like, which was important to me (though it was a little tricky finding out how to set that up when it wasn't doing it automatically).
The printer came with initial ink and I guessed that it would be just a small amount to get me started but I am just now ordering replacement ink. I am not out yet but I thought I was running out of magenta because today it printed oddly with lines and off colors. That said, I did a printer test and it turned out the magenta print head was clogged even though I have been taking good care of it and printing regularly (about 2 color pages a day). I ran a print head cleaning and it now works fine again. So do not assume you're out of ink if it starts printing wonky -- it may simply need you to clean the print heads.
You do need to know that Epson is kind of high maintenance when it comes to those print heads. With my old Epson printer, I rarely printed things because I wanted to save money on ink. That was a bad mistake because it turns out the print heads dry up and clog if not used regularly. In the long run, your printer will last far longer if you at least regularly print a few things. That's why even if you print in black and white, you'll slowly use the color ink up too -- Epson has it set up to use a tiny amount of those each time too so they don't clog. Since the printers are made so it's nearly impossible to fix or clean really clogged print heads, it's worth it to just use your printer regularly.
I didn't have any issues setting it up and my husband easily synced it to work from his cell phone too. I am not at all tech savvy and found it easy, so I'm not sure why other reviewers consider it challenging.
One thing to keep in mind is that ink is expensive for this and it's not yet available at places like Walmart. If you use counterfeit ink, you're likely to either get poor quality printing or clog your print heads and ruin your printer. I'm not sure, but I think it voids the warranty too. I used to buy the cheap stuff but decided it was worth it to have good quality and help my printer last longer. But it stings to spend more on replacement ink packages (currently around $80 for a 5-pack of high capacity inks in each color and black) than the printer cost. As a homeschool mom who really values being able to print good quality stuff out, it's worth it to me. It is something to keep in mind before buying, though.
All in all, I'm happy with the printer and think it was well worth the price I paid for it.
I just got the printer set up so I can"t say too much. I really like how compact it is because space is limited in my home office. My old Epson is still working and did for years and years through 2 computers, but I needed an upgrade with scanner etc. I have only had good experience with Epson.
I put off this purchase for several months as there are so many 1 and 2 star user reviews for every all-in-one inkjet printer currently on the market. I finally decided to purchase the xp-6000 and let the chips fall where they may. My experience so far: set up was a breeze (bypassed the cd install and opted for online), usb and WiFi work fine, b&w and color text and pics look good. The printing mechanism is very quiet. Nice looking unit. No complaints. Don’t know yet about ink cartridge usage. We’ll see.

I was apprehensive about buying this printer because of the mixed reviews but I decided to say the heck with it and jump in with both feet. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the quality of printing it has. I didn’t have much expectations for photos because of the price or reviews but it blew all expectations out of the water. I’m beyond excited about the double sided printing! I know that sounds nerdy but when you are a full time RN student, you try to pinch pennies in every way possible. I have no upgraded my HP printer (just bought last year but the quality is that of a two year old coloring birdbox style) to doorstop/paperweight or even possible anchor for my kayak. If you are looking for a printer that is inexpensive with good printing quality with some extra bells and whistles...this is your printer.
This printer is not completely easy to install but it wasn't bad.
1. You pull off all kinds of blue tape that is holding parts from rattling in shipment

3. Paper install: this was the worse, actually. The bottom tray is the A4 tray and you have extra cassette for photo paper. And you have to leave the bottom and top tray open to print (the paper exits on top.)
4. Hooking up to the network was easy-ish, except using a QWERTY keyboard with arrows on a tiny screen is irritating.
5. Firmware update was smooth.
6. Installation of PC based app for the printer went smoothly as well, printer installed onto my home network.
7., Scanning is a bit confusing until you realize it saves a long incoherently-named pdf file to the document folder in Win10. I changed the prefix to my initials rather than "img" to find it more easily and rename it something that made sense.

9. Printing wirelessly and over your phone is a great thing. I do that with a Brother Laserprinter and it's so handy. Take a doc or pic from your phone and directly print. Great reason to use a wireless printer. There is a phone app you can install.
I haven't printed photos yet (I rarely do that) but overall, it's a handy all-in-one except no fax. I think HP's are cheaper and easier to set up. But five inks will give you great quality photos and the scanner is a flat-bed scanner, which I prefer to a rolling scanner.

I don't print a lot, mainly handouts for art classes and simple graphics. I thought in researching this printer, that it came with a standard set of inks, but it only comes with "Initial" inks -- in other words, small cartridges. I bought the printer in mid-September, and at the end of January I'm already out of Cyan, Magenta, and Black inks. I just paid $82 to replace CMY and the regular Black with XL cartridges (I still have half of the photo Black). With all of that said, I am happy with the printer. It was simple to set up to print wireless, and I love being able to scan directly to my Google Drive. I've only printed on regular paper, so I can't attest to the true photo quality. Hopefully the new cartridges will last a very long time!
My very big Canon hs had printing issues for quite a while - seems they really should have recalled or issued a new print head. So, broke down and looked for a new one. No matter what you get - and the printers are all pretty cheap, you get ripped on the ink down the road. This turned out to be a perfect size and I was able to re locate it downstairs where we do most printing anyway. Very quiet. Easy to hookup and get running. Software is pretty basic compared to what came with the Canon Pixma, but seems adequate. Havent gotten replacement inks yet, but will look for non oem first.
My printer died and I ordered this one, then I got sick and couldn't deal with installing it. My sister-in-law stayed with us for a while and one of the things she did to help was to unpack the new printer, throwing disclaimers all along that she's not a technical person and this wasn't her forte. But it set up super easily and we were able to use it right away. I love that about Epson. It's a great compact size, it's quiet enough, and anyone can print to it without a big hassle finding a driver. I'd buy it again, and I'm glad I don't need to.
