This is a review of Eclipse Winterfrost Sugarfree Chewing Gum, 120 Piece Bottle. I love gum but hate when it fizzles out in flavor really fast. This gum is very fresh and strong tasting. It has a hard coating and the first few bites release a strong mint flavor. After that, it settles down and the flavor stays around for about 30 minutes. That's not bad. I ordered Pur gum in mint and the flavor was gone almost instantly so Eclipse is far better than that!
The big bottle has 120 loose pieces in it and a flip open cap. It isn't for carrying around but more for home or the office. I like it and will buy more. I would love to find a gum with flavor for an hour or more but that has not happened yet. Only one or two varieties are really long lasting. Still, if you want a fresh blast of mint and a good chewing experience without the sugar, this is a fine choice.
I bought this to take to work and school. Some points I'd like to make:
Pro:
-Great minty flavor that you'd expect
-120 pieces for less then $5. Awesome
-Flavor lasts for a decent amount of time, maybe an hour or so
Con:
-The packaging: the cup is good if I were to keep this on a desk or in my cupholder but I kept it in my backpack (dumb) the lid flap broke off the other week so my bag is littered with gum now. I'm going to tranfer into a ziplock to carry a small amount from now on.
-It's hard to get gum out discreetly with this bottle, so everybody tries to bum one. Lol.
Okay, I partly ordered these as a filler item for my Subscribe & Save subscriptions, but at this point there is no going back as my fiance is now addicted to eating these! Now that I have them delivered at a great price, and on a steady schedule, he's not getting antsy about running out anymore. The recent packs also came with ways to win movie tickets which I thought is pretty cool! I also like to re-use these little tubs for holding dog treats and even jelly beans as a snack (obligatory disclaimer: PLEASE RINSE THOROUGHLY as xyletol or whatever is in gum is extremely toxic to dogs).
On to the flavor itself, there's something really satisfying about crunching through the smooth shell and eating the minty soft part part within. However I find them losing their flavor after just a few chews far faster than their "pill form" counterparts. I have no idea why that is but that's my impression at least.
Great for when you're on the go as it can easily fit in your pocket or bag. Stating this, the portability comes at a cost as it's much cheaper to purchase E bottles (for your car) or refill bags. But if you're one to commute from place to place (walking, bus, train etc) this may be the perfect option for you.
Taste wise it has a very strong flavor, I tend to eat 3 at a time to have enough to chew in my mouth. The texture is very soft compared to other gums that may get hard overtime. Also your mouth stays fresh longer compared to the stick gums I've tried in the past
These are individually wrapped so it's not as easy to pop in your mouth unless you chew on one at a time
Another downside is that there is no wrapping paper so those who are conscious about your gum sticking everywhere, it may pose a problem for you as you have to find your own wrapping paper to wrap your used gum in or aim for the trash can via spitting. Also blowing bubbles can prove difficult unless you have at least 3,4 gum in your mouth
Each pack can be divided into two for instant sharing which is a nice touch for those who are generous with their gum
Each pack comes with 18 pieces, 9 if you split it. I could have come with 20, or 10, but I assume it's easier to do 18,9 from a manufacturing standpoint seeing there are marker groves in the packaging. Which makes you think that you may be cheated out of 6 pieces of gum.
Overall great product when out and about, just know there are cheaper options out there depending on you situation
As for value, this Eclipse Winterfrost gum in the 120 piece bottle is a good deal ($4.68 at time of purchase) when purchased as an "add-on" item on Amazon. It has a clean cool taste which lasts quite a while while chewing.
FYI: I purchased both the Polar Ice and Winterfrost flavors. I do like the Polar Ice a little better because it has a crisper flavor. Both are good gums with a nice cool burst for your mouth. The sweet flavor lasts about an hour with the coolness lasting many hours.
Overall, Eclipse gum is one of the better tasting sugar free gums and the flavor is long-lasting too.

Well, it's gum, what can I say?
Actually, I bought this to be part of a facial lift project.
Though I've never been fat, genetic and just my general lack of facial movement most of my life (long story), I feel like my chin hangs too much.
Chewing sugar free gum can help a lot. I've never been a gum chewer, so while for some this wouldn't feel like work, it does to me.
However, in my case, I have fruity flavors coming too, as I realized that mint flavor will be too dull during the day. Good for morning and night to keep my breath fresh after brushing my teeth.
All and all, I like the little containers. I have one in my car and one next to my bed at this time. :)

As for value, the Winterfrost in the 120 piece bottle is the best deal ($4.68) when purchased as an "add-on" item on Amazon. The Polar Ice is priced about the same as if bought locally at, e.g., Target. The nice thing with Amazon Prime is you can get delivery right to you.

I used to be able to buy Eclipse Polar Ice Gum at the grocery, but now none of my drugstores or groceries carry this 180 piece bag of gum. I recently searched Amazon for this product and fortunately was able to find it. I assume that this product is going to be taken out of production. Such a shame. It is the only brand I like. I may purchase several bags because I fear they will no longer be sold.
Eclipse Polar Ice is a legendary gum flavor -- it seems to be the favorite of all my friends and has been for several years. These packs seem like a bargain; but it should be kept in mind that it takes two of these pieces to match the volume equivalent of one stick of the same gum. So while it's still a bargain, it's not as much as expected.
I'm an Eclipse FIEND. I use it like an animal! I'm always going to the store to buy 24 piece packs and the 64 piece packs, but once I found this deal it's all I buy. It's such a better deal than the smaller quantities. The only problem is that you can't carry the giant bag around very easily. Still, it's easy to adapt to this. Get a small ziploc bag for your pocket or something and fill it up with gum from this.
