Anker 3.5mm Premium Auxiliary Audio Cable (4ft / 1.2m) AUX Cable for Headphones, iPods, iPhones, iPads, Home/Car Stereos and More (Black)

Unfortunately it did not last a year. You would expect that a premium cable would be sturdy and last years to come but, just as many people reported, the connector falls apart after some non intense use. Check attached picture.

Update 1/26/2017:

Extremely pro-active customer service from Anker (I was genuinely surprised), they just asked for the S/N and shipped me a brand new one. Apparently I had a cable from a bad batch. 5 stars for the customer service, will replace my cable and keep using it on a daily basis, will update the review if anything else comes up.

The cable that I had purchased originally had broken within three months, as shown in the picture, so I had written a negative review on this product. However, Anker reached out to me a few days after I posted the review informing me that the one that I received may have been defective and they offered me a free replacement. This whole process went very smoothly and I now have a new one in my possession that works great. Here's to hoping that this one will last me for a long time.

I wasn’t going to write a review but I must share how I came to buy a SECOND one of these. The first one worked perfectly, lived through quite a bit of hell with two dogs always goofing around in my car where it stays. Well, it was a crisp evening night when my dunce of a border collie swallowed one end of this, while still attached to my cars radio. Yes- swallowed. I wish I knew how and why the hell she swallowed it. But somehow she ate one end and edged her way into my front seat (yes it’s a really great and long cord!) by the time I noticed, she had about a foot in her which I then had to hold her down and pull out of her stomach after parking on the side of a highway. Oh I do love this cord, but it didn’t survive being pulled from my dogs stomach. So here I am buying another where I VERY much hope this never happens again. For the most part, a perfect cord.

I've read some of the recent reviews of this cable, stating that it's poorly made. Speaking from my own experience, and having used it every day for the past 6 months, I've found just the opposite.

I've been using it on a daily basis with my iPod Touch, as well as my iPad. It's been subject to extreme conditions, as I've removed it from one device, and put it in the other several times a week. There have been no issues whatsoever, and absolutely no signs that any portion of it may be coming apart.

The sound quality from both my iPod Touch and iPad is superb, and has never wavered. It fits into the 3.5mm aux ports perfectly, and exactly the same as the day I purchased it.

Anker customer support is superb. I did have an issue with another item that I purchased from them, and they replaced it, no questions asked. As for this cable, the bottom line is that it works perfectly, and continues to do so despite my subjecting it to almost daily abuse. 5 stars.

AFTER 3 YEARS STILL WORK FINE This is a well built cord that has the needed extended ends to fit phones with large cases. I am using to go from my LG TV to my stereo system. The cheap cord I was using was actually causing a latency problem I thought was just from the older stereo I was using. But was the cheap cable. The Anker cable is definitely high quality and only issue I have is for them to offer longer lengths. 4 feet is just long enough for my 1 TV setup but wouldn't work on my wall mount setup. This 3.5mm male to male cable can't be beat in terms of quality. Just need more length options rather than color. Buy and enjoy clear sound again.

I initially rated this product 1 star but am updating to 5 stars. Being that I am not very knowledgeable in technology, cables, etc, I failed to realize I may have received a faulty product. Anker read my review and sent an email stating I probably received a faulty product and asked if I would receive a new one. Well, I was very impressed to say the least. I can honestly say the cable worked just fine, nothing was wrong with it except the tip broke off in my laptop, so the cable was obviously defective. I should also mention that I own an Anker speaker that I plug into my laptop and use when I stream movies from the internet. I can honestly say it is awesome, with plenty of bass and treble to make me feel as if I was at a movie theater. I have no doubt that Anker takes pride in all their products and I will certainly use caution next time I write a review. Thank you, Anker, for ensuring my satisfaction and the great customer service.
==================================
I gave this one star because the tip of the part you insert into your headphone jack broke off in my laptop. I had to send my laptop in for repair to have it removed. The black colored grooves near the tip where you insert the line, there's an indention which can wear thin and break off. I don't know if other audio cables are made the same but I will certainly search for one that does not have the grooves in it. Maybe the grooves are what hold the line inside your device, not sure, but I certainly won't do this again. Thank the Lord my laptop was still under warranty.

Anker always produces high quality stuff and this little auxiliary audio cable is no exception. The cable is made from premium materials, is lined with fabric to make it stronger, has a nice rubberized coating, and comes with 24K gold-plated ultra thin contacts that ensure you're getting the cleanest sound possible. I bought this cable to go along with my Audiocast M5 (http://amzn.to/2xQykHT) and the sound quality from both are outstanding. I am very happy with this purchase and the Anker brand overall. Hope this helps!

I've fallen for these beautifully crafted Anker cables. I bought an 8ft set for my home stereo system for guests to be able to plug their devices in and loved the entire product, from the superficial to the technical, these have been great. After a cheap set in my car broke, I bought these 4ft cables for use in there and couldn't be happier. Great product which I actually happened upon when I did a search for the best auxiliary cables available and on multiple websites these were in the top 10. The great thing is price too, some people think expensive cable = good cable.

I bought 2 cords, one for us to use for a speaker system and one for my car's AUX port for my phone. The one I had bought for our speaker system ended up not working after a couple months and I just bought another one. When I saw their little insert on the box, I said, I'll do a return ticket for a non-functional aux cord, but got busy and ended up not doing it for months. I saved the cord though and had the S/N, and emailed them for a new cord. They helped me troubleshoot just in case, then when that fell through, they sent me a new one! The one I bought for my car, still awesome and I'd say I put that through moderate usage with daily disconnections and movement from bumpy rides.

I decided to buy this cable for my Phillips HiFi stereo headphones because the cable it came with wasn't quite long enough. I opted for the Anker brand because I've come to enjoy most of their products--especially their battery backs.

With this purchase, I was not disappointed. The cable came promptly with Amazon prime and I was able to use it within 2 days.

As for pricing on August 23, 2017, the cable was not expensive at all at 6.99.

I've used it on and off, about 2-3x a week and it has held up well.

Overall, I would recommend this!
