Worth noting: the retailer product details on the Amazon page says "The date on the top right of package back is product date, not expiration date", which is COMPLETELY false. It IS an expire date. Today is 9/20/17 and my package says "Best before 2/21/18".

This is one of my favorite spices of all times. It really brings back memories of Sichuan and the delicious cuisine that I so fondly remember. And it is authentic, as the last time I bought it was back in China. You cannot find this anywhere else! I will also agree with the other user: there is definitely a "Best Before" Date at the top, and unfortunately the last time we received the package we only had two months left until it expired...Anyway, great product!!!

I found this is an essential ingredient in many Sichuan dishes. As someone new to cooking, this is a truly irreplaceable ingredient that gives lots of savory flavor. Just keep the opened bag in the fridge for freshness after opening, will last a long time. I find I only need a few tablespoons in each dish so ordering online is very convenient.

First time purchasing and using this product. Love the convenience of buying via Amazon. Only negative is that the product I received has an expiration date of March 2019 - 30 days after I purchased it. Otherwise, great flavor, easy-to-use packaging. Will buy again.
