I am not a nutritionist, so not going to give you my view on the nutrition of the bars. See the ingredients photo attached for details!
What I am sharing my opinion on are they real key factors. How it feels, how it chews, how it taste, how it sits in the stomach and how it poops out. For the record, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being best score, I rate me a 1 when it comes to desire to eat healthy and an 8 at actually eating healthy. In fact, right now I am thinking cheesecake and not a healthy snack bar.
PACKAGING – Score 9
When it comes to the packaging, I find the package is easy to open, even after sitting in my back pocket before a 10 mile run. The bar is always cleanly in the packaging, not sticking too much too it. I have never had a struggle or frustration taking the food out of the package, an experience you always have with sugar daddy’s (of course, my pre-healthy days only).
The package is sealed well and keeps the food tasting fresh.
CHEW EFFECT – Score 9
I like the texture. Once placed in the mouth, the heavens open up, doves flew out and WAM. Okay, maybe that does not happen, but the texture of the food is solid. It is not too hard or too chewy. When you’re done eating, the food is not crammed between teeth cracks or sticking to the top of the mouth.
TASTE – Score 10
Awesome. Perfect flavor. Not too sweet.
SWALLOW EFFECT – Score 10
Good. Repeat and it works great.
STOMACH ACCEPTANCE – Score 10
Simply awesome. My stomach when it comes to sensitivity is extremely high. If I eat items with too much sugar, my stomach turns. The bars sat well. They do not sit heavy and they digest well. I never have an issue where gas is leaking out of me (or at least where I can blame it on the bars), so my digestive system pushes it a long well. I am sensitive to gluten, but still no issues.
TOILET APPROVED – Score 10
This part ended quick, fast and smooth. One big splash finished nature’s course and it was a blessing since lactose issues are normal for me.
FAMILY APPROVED – Score 10
Wife and Kids love them. Wife loves them because they are easy to store and pull when needed!
FINAL COMMENTS
Great product, great flavor. If you are on the fence, try them, you will be impressed.

I starting doing a 6-meal a day diet. Portions are small and it includes the Larabar. With this diet I don’t need to reduce the carb intake because I’m taking a new calorie and carb blocker called by Biotek Nutrition – Weight Loss Aid Diet Pill Blocks the Absorption of Carbs and Fats and it has done wonders for my diet. I still eat healthy but my appetite stays in check and energy stays high. No crash like I’ve had on the Atkins diet.
These bars taste amazing and are a great treat when hiking or when your carving something sweet. I only wish I could call them healthy. While they are a lot better than a candy bar, they are still filled with sugar, fat and have a high caloric content for the volume of food you're getting. Something to keep in mind if you're trying to maintain a healthy weight or get to a healthy body weight. Like anything, they have their place in any diet and they are much better for you than a candy bar (or at least I tell myself this). Personally I keep a few around incase I'm craving sweets or for days of go out hiking. They go well with coffee too which is a bonus!
Larabar PEANUT AND CHOCOLATE CHIP bars include DATES, providing 210 Calories per 1.6 oz. bar, 12 grams of 'good' fat, 23 grams of Carbohydrates and 65 milligrams of Sodium. Most of the sweetness in the bar comes from the sugar in the dates. The result is an agreeably flavored, nutrition dense take-along supplemental food for physical activities such as day hikes, trail runs, etc., or for reasonable snacking between meals for an energy boost. Unlike flakey grain-based energy bars, Larabar is easier on the mouth. Use it as a 'go-to' energy bar or mix it into the rotation with other grain-based bars.
These bars are so delicious. When I was younger one of my favorite cookies was the peanut butter cookie with the chocolate candy in the middle. I never understood why no one ever made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.
I habe been a Larabar fan since they first came out. When this nutty combination was introduced, I was thrilled. Up to then it was mostly fruity bars and some yummy chocolate options.
I bought one, walked out of the store and opened the bar in my car to snack on while completing my errands. I proceeded to get out of my car and walk back into the store to purchase as many as I could hold in my hand.
The next time I went to the store, they were sold out. Everytime I went to this particular store, the only one that carried this flavor combo, I would buy enough for the week.
This was before my son because a teenage eating machine and discovered these for himself. He was never a Larabar fan, so it took him awhile to catch on to these addictive bars.
Once he hit his teenage years, I can't seem to keep them in the house. I usually purchased the whole carton, 16 bars, from our local health food store, but when I found them on Amazon at the subscribe and save price, I jumped on it.
Now I receive 2 boxes every month and I usually get to 3 or 4.
These bars, any flavor, keep very well. Even these, with the chocolate chips keep well in the glove box of my car for after practice snacks. They are actually surprisingly even more delicious when the chocolate is a little melted.
They are great for packing in lunchboxes, backpacks and sport bags. I even find bars in my son's pockets when I do the laundry.
The best part is they are healthy with few ingredients, and gluten free. If you have a peanut allergy, obviously this is not the bar for you. Most, if not all, Larabars have a date & nut base. Everything is natural and many of the ingredients are organic.
If you love peanut butter cookies and have an appreciating for chocolate, definitely gives these a try. They are incredible.

Okay, full disclosure... I'm probably addicted to these things. I hate dry, crunchy energy bars that have like 1,000 ingredients, so I love Lärabars! They are chewy, and have like five ingredients. Dates are the primary ingredient in most of them, but they don't taste like dates at all. (I don't hate dates, but I know some people do, so this might make a difference for them.)
Also, I'm allergic to almonds, which are a popular energy bar ingredient. Some Lärabar flavors have almonds, but this flavor and a few other are almond free. Been subscribed to these things for a few years now and plan to continue receiving a big box every six months!
I typically don't go for anything vegetarian or vegan, to be frank because in my opinion there isn't much in that category in my experience that has much flavor compared to other foods. Figured i'd give this a whirl for a "healthy" alternative compared to a pop tart or something comparable.
Really tasty, my only qualm is I for some reason feel a tiny bit of acid reflux with these. BUT i feel better overall than I did previously with other snacks
I love Larabars. They are great for quick on the go low blood sugar boosters. I usually buy the fruity varieties but my husband loves peanut butter so we tried the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip this time. The bar seems a little smaller than the Apple or Cherry variety. It is very sweet, almost a little too sweet for my taste. Alas, my husband still didn't like them. Something about the aftertaste of the dates I think. But overall if you are looking for a sweet on the go treat, and like peanut butter and chocolate, you cannot go wrong with this bar. Plus it has fruit in it!
These bars were surprisingly delicious. If you read the ingredients, there really isn't much to them. So you know they aren't processed and full of useless things your body doesn't need. I will say this...I've tried a few different flavors, and none of them taste "quite like" what the advertised flavor is....but they are still delicious. I will buy again........if they come back on sale that is. :)
I bought these because I needed something to keep in my purse for when hunger strikes me like a Light Saber. So many other protein bars are just too nutty, full of whey (which I'm sensitive to) , or just plain yucky. This one is soft, and very tasty! I will be ordering more soon as I am putting it in my lunch bag every day as well as in my purse haha .
