I have been in the computer industry for over 20 years. During that time I have built, serviced, and repaired computers, for individuals and businesses. I have designed, installed, and serviced Networks for individuals and companies. There is no way I could build a computer for $188.00.
I sent emails to four different computer companies regarding this particular computer. "StallionTek Certified" responded within two days. The others took four days or not at all.
I expected a computer with some dings and scratches, and a keyboard and mouse that were used and cleaned up.
Upon opening the box I noticed the packing material was quite extensive, providing extra protection for the computer. The computer looked like it was brand new. I opened up the case and the inside was in pristine condition. The mouse and keyboard were in there own boxes and they looked brand new. There wasn't a mark on either one.
I ran the computer and it ran cool, and was so quiet you couldn't tell it was running. The computer was loaded with Windows 10/64 Bit. The motherboard has built in network capabilities. I didn't have a chance to check out the network portion yet, but I'm sure it will be OK. I purchased this computer for my wife so she could have her own computer.
I went to HP"s website and downloaded the operating and service manuals, as well as diagnostic software.
"StallionTek Certified" communication was excellent. Purchasing a computer, with mouse and keyboard at a price of $188.00 is remarkable. Even if the computer cost twice that, it would still be a bargain. You can't go wrong and you won't be disappointed if you purchase a computer system from "StallionTek Certified". Also, the computer hardware is warrantied for one year.
Highly Recommended,
Ken
This computer arrived in great packing and it literally looks brand new as the description said it would. The inside was immaculate and the wires are all neatly tucked into the spots they should be. This is actually the first refurbished item I've ever purchased and I couldn't be happier with it. I actually bought a 120GB SSD internal drive for it and I used a free program to clone the OS over. Let me tell you, this thing is lightning fast. It boots up in like 10 seconds.
I got this computer really just for streaming my PS4 Pro gameplay on OBS using a external capture card. It has more than enough power to do what I needed. I bought a Displayport to HDMI converter which was cheap. You could also add another 8GB Ram if you wanted for around $35.
My only gripe would be that I think the computer was possibly missing a 2.5" hard drive cradle thing because the SSD was way too small for the spot, but I got it to work anyways. I won't dock a star for that though. Great computer for anyone looking for a fast computer to do anything but mainly gaming, and will last for a few years at least!
Like one of the other reviewers I've been in the PC retail and service/software business for over 20 years and I have never come across a better value. Since I'm used to buying at wholesale prices I of course looked for a new PC for myself from one of my suppliers, but decided to try this one because of the price, figuring if there was anything wrong with it I can fix it. Was I surprised when I opened the box - actually thought it must be brand new that just had never been sold after the following year's model came out, and had sat in a warehouse all this time. Apparently it is actually a spotlessly refurbished unit. Fats enough for office work and surfing, but if you add a $35.00 Kingston 240GB SSD plus a SATA cable as the boot drive it turns into an even much speedier machine. After the initial boot and checkout I used AOMEI Partition Assistant FREE version to clone the hard disk to the SSD and then reassigned the boot drive in the computer's setup (press ESC, then F10 when booting, go to storage, boot order, and reverse the positions of hard disks to put disk1, the SSD, above disk0; Save and Exit ). I will use the hard drive either for bulk storage or backups or as a full clone of the SSD. The SSD can be mounted in the spare bay with 2-sided sticky tape if you don't want to buy an adapter box; just be careful when plugging in the cables because the plastic is fragile.
Just the Windows 10 64-bit OS is by itself almost worth the price of the whole thing. Be sure to download the latest update. I always also add a FREE version of a good anti-virus like AVAST for extra protection (it provides continuous background scanning. However they bug you to death with their upgrade ads unless you pay). Open Office is also a great free substitute for MS Office. Be sure to thoroughly check out all the new Windows 10 features - they have packed it with many new apps that you formerly would have bought from third parties. Do this by opening "settings" and thoroughly checking out each setting, and checking out all the programs on the start menu. For free software checkout Major Geeks.
A display port-to-HDMI adapter (about $15) can turn your late-model TV into a monitor, and a $15 wifi dongle (USB-3 compatible preferred) will give you internet if you don't use LAN cable.
This is the best computer I ever bought for myself as a business professional style and it is power enough to do all you want for business and some games, of course it is not the powerful than any other, but it does do a lot. Tested many things on it. 8gbs of ram, i5 4570 processor and win10 pro 64, highly recommend and great price definitely only down fall is the keyboard is cheap made and light but it's good to go for sure. Mouse is nice to hold and move. It came package very well with the fragile sticker on it and ups driver was very careful handing to me. I really love HP and this lineup.
I needed to replace an old PC, running as a server for my personal weather station, which has been running 24/7/365 since early 2005.
This PC fits what I needed, and at a great price. It even has a serial port which I need to connection to my weather station, without having to fool with a USB/serial cable. The PC comes with Windows 10 Pro, which I also required for remote desktop connection to this PC (Home versions don't allow remote desktop connections). A great big plus is there is NO BLOATWEAR, which can take hours to remove and cleanup.
Spent a couple hours installing the latest updates from Microsoft, then installed the weather software and copying all the data from the old unit to this one, and it is running great.
I'm impressed with what you get for $178 I paid. i5 quad core processor, 500GB drive, 8GB RAM, 1Gbps Ethernet, capable of 3 monitors, a serial port, plus lots of USB2 and USB3 ports on the front and back.
This is connected to a UPS that tracks the total power used by whatever is connected, and it looks like it is using about 75% - 85% less power than the old unit.

- HP 600G1 Intel I5 Quad-Core 3.2 GHz Processor
- What's Inside: 8GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, DVD Optical Drive,
- Operating System: Windows 10 Professional
- Includes: USB Keyboard and Mouse,
It have 4 slots of ram, one internal speaker, cooling fan of Master cooler, three pcie slots one graphic card slot, have two hdmi and you can install two more hdd or ssd to it but i dont like the mouse (dell) which looked like used one and dont have extra place to install second cooling fan which i think it is not a big deal to some people.
After reading all of the feedback and seeing a few pics showing how pristine these refurb PCs were, I decided to buy this.
Unfortunately, for me, my PC looked very used, and had significant scratching on the top of the case.
The packing was nowhere near as nice as the ones pictured in the feedback pics, and the keyboard and mouse were obviously used, with the keyboard having broken bits rattling around inside of it.
Functionally, the PC works very well so far. As others have said, the price is worth the Windows 10 cost alone. In my opinion Windows is a terrible product, but I need Windows for my work, and this PC is the fastest Windows PC I have ever used. After logging in from a cold start, the PC pretty much responds right away.
Other budget Windows PCs I have owned previously always seemed to struggle for several minutes after log in.
A few other things:
My DVD drive took a DVD and "died", wouldn't eject or read the disc. Showed up fine in "Device Manger" and all the usual troubleshooting showed everything "functioning properly" (seems some things about Windows never change!) I popped open the case and re-seated the connectors on the DVD drive and the DVD drive began functioning normally again. No big deal!
There's no Wi-Fi on board, so bring your own.
It has two DisplayPort outputs which is very nice, drives my 4K monitor very well.
It is very quiet.
Uh, I was under the impression that "Windows 10 Pro" would have Office on board? Maybe I have been out of the Windows game, but this PC didn't have Office on board, but had an Office App that sends you to a cloud for Office programs. I didn't try it, we have that at work and I HATE IT. Docs can be very laggy. It seems the vendor includes "Libre Office" so you'll have on-board "Office". I use it on my Linux PCs, so I am OK with that.
Overall, the PC is a good deal. I am just a bit bummed that mine wasn't as excellent as everyone else's. But I am still happy with the price/value ratio.
For me, as an extremely non-techie senior, this was a quick, easy out-of-the-box set-up and fast boot up. This HP ProDesk 600 was purchased to replace a slowly dying HDMI tower. I play a lot of casual games, watch movies, tv shows and YouTube, plus cruise around the internet. I really appreciate the responsiveness of the HP. I cannot testify to the hardcore gaming that my sons do, but this HP performs well for my tame casual games. Despite being a refurbished unit, it looks brand new. It came well packed with sturdy styrofoam buffers and a card with the contact information and work hours of the seller. Also included are a keyboard and wired mouse. (The wired mouse is actually performing better than the wireless one I have.) There is only one tiny complaint I have and that is the disc drive is somewhat sticky. But, hey, that's livable, right? It is such a great price. I feel I really struck it big time! I have an ancient HP Compaq that's still kicking despite being painfully slow (also a refurbish purchase) and hope that this ProDesk will be just as lasting. I am beyond pleased!
usb3 ports were not recognized before some tinkering. other than that, exactly what I hoped for. performs great. wiring is not a nest of ugly, although management could be improved but that's an OCD type thing, and does not affect performance. all slots function, windows is verified, accepted additional ram cards, currently running 16GB ram with no issues and no worries. Case was in acceptable condition with no blaring flaws. and the keyboard and mouse it came with... holy crap! AWESOME! If I didnt have fancy gaming peripherals with flashy lights Id be happily rocking the included kit. very nice!
Pretty decent. Runs pretty well, but doesn't have built in Wi-Fi. A Wi-Fi adapter is needed for this desktop.
