Most canned mushrooms are grown in who-knows-what conditions in China, with who-knows-what pesticides and chemicals. These shrooms are grown in the USA, certified organically grown, and taste great. Now, if only they would offer them in BPA-free containers, like glass (the thin linings and seams in cans are BPA).
I used to keep a couple of cans of "store brand" in my pantry until I discovered these. From the first can I opened, I have used them in almost everything I make. They might be a bit more expensive than you're used to, but I think you'll find them superior to any generic brand you might find on the store shelf.
As others have said these are whole slices not little bits and stems. There is just enough water in the can to package the shrooms, so it's a good deal. I recommend to rinse well. I like to put them on a paper towel and let it partially dry so their more like fresh (absorbing the goodness of the rest of the dish). And it's organic so it's good all around.
Just slightly more expensive (we're talking pennies) than jars/cans at the local grocery store but LOADS more flavor. I read the reviews of previous purchasers and was a little skeptical about receiving stinky mushrooms. Well perhaps those purchases (approximately a year ago) were bad batches. I've had two cans so far and they are delicious on pizza. Will buy again. Defniitely
Great quakity mushrooms.....they are great in soups and gravies. They are very meaty and filling when added to a can of cream of mushroom soup....there are usually nerve enough mushrooms in those soups...I will. Keep buyimg them for sure

Description
Giorgio Organic Sliced Mushrooms
Giorgio Organic Sliced Mushrooms, 4 oz : USDA organic America's favorite mushroom since 1928
This product is great! I have ordered it quite frequently. I had stopped ordering the product when the price creeped up more than 50% from the original. I ordered this on 11/5 for 9.99 and after receiving the order decided to order more...the price had doubled in 5 days. There seems to be major game playing going on.....I'm out.
Arrived quickly and in a flat 12-pack plastic-wrapped tray box. 4 of the 12 cans had dents---all near the top rim so it seems they were dented at the place of packaging. Don't think the smallish dents will impact on the quality. The mushrooms are good, as we expected them to be.
Good, clean, firm mushrooms grown in the USA. I recommend this brand. Unfortunately, the price has risen 3 bucks a case in the last month that I've bought them so I may not be buying them from Amazon anymore unless the price goes down.
Canned mushrooms produced in the USA are hard to find these days (many are products of China). Organic canned mushrooms can also be quite hard to find. In this product you have all that, and they are very good to boot!
Price is a little high but boy, do these taste good. Organic mushrooms seem more difficult to find so these are a must for my canned goods cabinet. I use these when I run out of broiled in butter then frozen criminis I do when the fresh mushrooms are on sale...
