Fractal Design FD-CA-Focus-WT-W ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Fractal Design FD-CA-Focus-WT-W ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Picked this up for my newest build. I was looking for something with decent cooling, as well as space for optical drives - which so many cases just don't have (at least as mid towers.) I didn't really care about a side window, I didn't want to spend over $100, and white would be a bonus.

I nearly picked up two other cases before noticing they had no mounting or accessibility for a front optical drive. Blah. And they were so focused (currently) on "Has tempered glass" and "Makes the vegas strip look dark and boring!"

I'm glad I didn't buy the other cases. This one's a joy to work in, and has plenty of thoughtful touches (like a screwdriver adapter that fits over the mainboard standoffs to make installation really easy.) It's a nice, clean looking design - and if you're worried about the lighted fans in the front turning this into an oversize night light, the mesh mutes them into a nice design touch (and they don't brighten the inside of the case much. I don't see leaving this on as being a problem.)

It's got space for radiator mounting in front and up top, and room for an SSD in back. It's only got room for two hard drives in its cage, which so far is the only thing I can consider a complaint, really. The plastic front is a slightly different white shade than the painted portion. And it doesn't come with a rear fan. If fI had to complain about anything, those would... pretty much be it.

Definitely worth a look.

Pros:
- Price!
- Clean look
- Thoughtful and complete hardware inclusion (including optional panel lock and nut-driver adapter for a screwdriver.)
- Front fans
- Easy to reach filter mesh on the bottom (no having to get inside the case.)
- Two front accessible 5.25" bays for optical drives or what have you.
- Lot of cable routing cutouts and room.

Cons:
- Front fans are lit. Not obnoxious, but if you want no lighting at all, they'll need replacing.
- Only space for two drives in the bottom drive cage.
- Giant side window (if you don't like those.) No option I saw for not having one.
- No rear fan. (Space for a single radiator or 120mm fan. )

My previous cases were a ~$50 Rosewill Redbone case ~5 years ago and another ~$50 Rosewill case a few years prior to that.
Compared to building in those two, this case was a breeze. As an aside, thumb screws for the drives seem like it would be more of a hassle than a tool-less chassis, but that was not the case at all.
There's a good amount of space for cable management and the space for extra fans is very welcome and well though out.

For it being my first time putting a pc together, this case was easy to install everything.
The standoffs were hard to screw in by hand, I had to use a socket wrench to make sure they were in all the way.
Cable management wasn’t that big of an issue for me. All of my wires fit comfortably behind the case and motherboard panel. I’ll be adding another fan soon so that’ll be an extra wire back there, but as you can see from the photo I attached I have plenty of space. First photo shows how it looked before I organized the cables, the picture with flash is the completed rig.
A few things I liked about this case is the ssd space behind the motherboard, I put my hard drive back there cause it wasn’t as cool as the ssd I have lol so it’s hidden away. If you had a single ssd you can throw it back there and remove the ssd holder tray for an even cleaner look.
I personally didn’t have issues with my cables behind the tray like others have mentioned, but I will say there is very little space between the motherboard panel and the back of the tray, it definitely can be an issue for some. The fans run quiet and look really nice.
The only con I have is how hard the standoffs were going in, but I assume it’s cause of the coat of black paint on the panel. This isn’t really a con but I’ve had two people comment about the weird placement for the psu. If you don’t like the psu on the bottom of the case you won’t like this case.

Overall, great case! I’m happy with my first pc I built and the case I used for it

Fractal design cases are known for their good looks and functionality. The case I bought included two fairly large fans that help circulate cool air. They enhance the overall look and function extremely well. Not to mention they are dead silent. I had trouble mounting my mobo to the case plate. The holes that seat the motherboard risers (the small pegs that lift the motherboard off the plate, giving it something to lay on as well as a hole to screw into) do not have any threads. The mobo risers that they give you also function as sort of a tap for these holes. So you have to press down pretty hard while screwing them in place. It led to a struggle as a couple of them wanted to go in crooked. However, in the end it worked out. Once you find 1 that goes in fairly easily, just keep using that for every hole a riser will be inserted into. This will sort of 'tap' it, allowing you to easily screw in the other risers. I used a Asus z170 Pro Gaming motherboard(ATX) with an i7 6700k and a huge coolermaster CPU cooler. All of it fit fairly well. If you use an ATX mobo along with a non-modular power supply, hiding all the extra cables becomes an art form. However, this mid tower fits all of my ATX sized equipment without any problems. Looks great, functions well and for the price, it cannot be beat.

If you want a case that isnt too pricey but also looks nice, I think this is a great option. The 2 case fans arent super bright. I actually moved the rear one to the front to double up. Then I purchases 2x AigoDIY, Halo LED 120mm for the rear. So if you are looking at this picture, those 2 bright white fans do not come with it, but I would definitely recommend getting them along with this case for a nice look and better airflow.

This is the first midsize tower I've had in years, and I love it. It easily fits all of my components, has decent airflow, is quiet, and overall looks really cool. I like that it has DVD drive bays, unlike many other midsize towers these days. I have a very large GPU, a blu ray drive, 2 HDD's, a SSD, and a total of 5 case fans in here. It serves my needs perfectly and looks awesome. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Great case for beginners this was my first build so wanted a budget case this one is nice , just not a whole lot of cable management room I would suggest getting a semi modular power supply but I didn’t have one but still made it fit with no budge .

Great look, great quality. The cable management with this case is basic but effective. Plenty of room to work. Even novice builders should have no difficulty with case. The 2 included front 120mm fans are quiet and good for a start. The bottom fan area can be used with the 3.5in drive cage removed. Plenty of room for liquid cooling if that's your thing. This case can also fit 1 rear 120mm fan, 2 120mm or 140mm on top and in front. The filters require some work to get out for cleaning on occasion. The only issue I ran into was with installing the motherboard standoffs. Care needs to be taken not to cross thread them as some will fit very tight. Using a tool to keep them straight as you screw them into place is your best bet. All in all a great case at a nice price.

I was on edge with this product, and added this to my cart not quite ready to buy. Funny enough my mom accidentally bought this case and I ended up really liking it and built my build in it (i5-9600k,z390 atx ,rtx 2060,16gbddr4,1TBHDD,600w power supply). The building was relatively easy, and the case is actually quite the bargain as long as you find a way to route you’re cables. This case could have more cable management but for $50 you get more than you pay for
-2 led 120mm fans
-durable case
-plenty of usb 3.0 ports

So far it seems great and looks great with all of the RGB lighting I put in it. Only problem is how easily scratched the plastic is. Doesn't take much to scratch it so be VERY careful handling it.
