I was excited to order such a good computer for what I thought was a good price. The PC arrived within two days and seemed to be in good working order. The memory was advertised as 16 GB, but this was misleading. The computer is capable of 16 GB but they actually only supplied 8GB. So, just be aware of that. Also, the computer was not configured for Windows 10 correctly. When I went through Windows 10 configuration, the computer rebooted and then came to a grinding halt. The HDD worked at 100% and the start menu never showed. Virus???. I had to reset the PC back to factory default settings and start from scratch with a fresh Windows 10 installation. Not sure why I had to do this, but it worked, and now the PC runs normally. I would say good PC for the money now that it works.
Generally, I build my own computers, however, when I saw this I was really surprised at what I get for the cost. Setup the computer last night, and everything works perfectly. I recommend this computer to anyone looking for a solid system to use at home or work.
I had looked at some of the bad reviews and weighed in the gamble I was taking with a refurbished unit. setup was lightning fast, took maybe ten minutes. boot up takes about twenty seconds. hard drive and fans aren't loud, and I decided to "drop test" by playing about three hours of final fantasy through steam, CPU runs about 30%ish with no dives or climbs, no heat issues and frame rate was decent, 50ish FPS.
Initially bought this PC for podcasting with Mixcraft. it drove the program well while using midi, however when I tried to use some of the programed pads, the system usage bar hit the top for whatever reason.
the advertised memory and speed is what I got. I am tempted to buy another one just for personal use. my only gripe is the RGB connection in the rear is picky, looks like someone was naughty and pulled or yanked on it, but Its usable. also, if you wanted to install anything aftermarket as far as GC or SC, you're going to void the warranty. there is a yellow tag on the service door- no big deal, but I would have liked to check the inside of the unit for dust.
the description on amazon states that the ram has 16GB. But actually I received a an installed ram for 8.00GB. Besides that I totally recommended!
Shipped in a timely manner. Received everything that was promised. I also contacted Blair Technology twice with questions and they were WONDERFUL!!! They exceeded all expectations and didn’t make me feel stupid. I highly recommend Blair Technology.

What a great computer for the price! It was super easy to set up right out of the box. It is perfect for my kids to get on and watch YouTube videos, do their homework (MS Office is a separate purchase), check email, and play games on their favorite websites (kids websites; not gamer websites). It's been a perfect addition to our family office (gets the kids off my computer). The only trouble was when my 10 year old tried to play slither.io - the snake was very slow...I think a graphics card upgrade would help that, but I'm not willing to do that yet.
If you want a basic machine, this one is great. Buy it and don't change a thing! I decided to upgrade, to an SSD boot drive (took out the included spinning hard drive) and added a graphics card too (a low profile, passive cooled nvidia 1030). When I re-installed my windows 10 from my own dvd, it was a big hassle. Ultimately it did work, but it took me most of a day being very clever to get it right (I ran into lots of problems updating from MY COPY OF WINDOWS, I'm not complaining about their image). When I installed fresh I did get some errors regarding the key on the sticker... this is a complex issue which I won't get into... but ultimately my license is working just fine without doing anything weird. I'd recommend leaving it configured exactly as it arrives. They delivered with a nice fresh install of Windows 10 which updated smoothly. My upgrade that I did later was not so smooth, but that's my issue. Highly recommended. Also the included flimsy keyboard and mouse... yeah they are flimsy but actually I like them a lot. An amazing deal. I don't know if all the sellers are the same, but I'm really happy with what I got from
USTecno.
Bad news is, after 7 months the tower just didn't turn on one morning - good news is, I called the company, CNB Computers, that did the initial refurbishing and they couldn't have been nicer - I did have to pay $55 to send it back through FedEx, but it's cheaper than having to replace the entire tower and start all over again - I had purchased an extended warranty through Amazon, but because it was still under warranty through CNB, I had to send it back to them and give them a chance to fix it or replace it first
I was kept in touch by email with one of their reps that they received the computer and it would be about 3 days to know the problem - in 2 days I was told it was fixed and no data was lost, so I got my original hard drive back, which was a big plus - they shipped it back immediately after that, provided the tracking number, and I've been using it just fine for the past week, fingers crossed - the whole process took about a month, but that was mostly because I am in Hawaii and this shipped to New York city
They also sent along a new power cord for the computer, a keyboard, mouse and wireless USB, all at no charge - I am currently using the keyboard and mouse on my MacBook, so I can't complain too much - luckily, I had my MacBook to use through this whole process but it was still a huge inconvenience to be without my desktop computer and the information it contained for a month - I am glad it all worked out the way it did, and grateful to the people at CNB for all their help, but I don't think I will purchase a refurbished computer again - by total contrast, a few years back, I had bought a new HP directly from HP - when it suddenly died one day under warranty, they overnighted a new tower to me at no charge - you get what you pay for
My old computer is about 10 years old - Windows 7, but it has gotten to be so slow especially the internet. I figured it was time to upgrade. I bought this Refurbished OptiPlex 990. It advertised that it had a DVD ROM. I purchased a DVD RW along with this computer only to find out that it came with a DVD RW. (Wasted $40). I noticed someone commented that you didn't have to remove the existing DVD as there were room for a second one. My system only had room for one DVD. So far, I have not had any trouble with the system, but I haven't started loading my programs on it yet. Time will tell. I don't like the fact that I cannot upgrade the graphics card. I don't watch movies or play action games, but I did want an upgraded graphics card in the event I have a higher video usage. (Not a deal breaker). I will update this review once I have loaded all my programs and finalize the system.
Our old PC was about 7 years old and was way overdue to be replaced. I wanted a PC with an i5 quad core Intel processor and 8GB of memory.. This refurbished PC is awesome. It was less than $300 and had everything I wanted.. The only issue I had was the 2T drive. The heads were incredibly noisy so I salvaged a 1T Seagate hybrid out of our old PC and no more noise. Its been pretty heavily used over the last couple of weeks and I've had no issues with it.
