Burglabar 2 Pack - Great for Sliding Patio Door Lock, (Use 2 for doors), Sliding Window Lock, Sliding Basement Windows Lock, Child Safety Lock

First, this won't keep anyone but your grandma out. The adhesive is strong, but I wouldn't rely on it (vs a solid bar along the floor) if you are really worried about someone forcing their way in (in reality, crooks will just smash your sliders or pop them out if the tracks).

HOWEVER! I am 100% sold on these as child locks for your sliders. I have them on all my sliders and the grandparents sliders. Place them in the top corner, and no short kid (except the most clever ones) will be able to sneak out.

UPDATE: I have seen these installed incorrectly in other reviews. 1. You must install them horizontally, not vertically! 2. I place mine in the top corner while the lock part is up (L-shaped) so I can ensure placement is optimal. I also place them with the moving portion on the bottom (i.e., push leg up to activate lock, down flat to deactivate). 3. Place them as close as you can get them to the door that opens (like <1mm) without blocking the bracket. If these are going to have a chance at preventing entry, you can't allow the door to gain momentum.

Super easy, and very sturdy for a "plastic" item. I have one on an upstairs window that someone could access and another on my sliding door (with a dowel in the door track as well). A determined evildoer could likely force his way in, but not without some effort and likely enough noise to wake me. Would be nice if it came with an alcohol pad...make certain the surface you attach it too is clean, degreased, and dry!

Great idea and customer service. I had a question about placement on a sliding patio door and it was answered very quickly.
I have a set of these of our patio door and although I couldn't testify as to how much pressure would it take to break them, I'm confident they will at the very least cause enough noise to alert me if I'm home.
I had to ask the seller how these would work by letting me have my patio door open a few inches so my cat can go in and out but not enough space for someone to get in. He explained that the amount of space allowed for someone to pull on it is the key so I should keep the space as small as possible and to use the pair on one door.
Long story, when someone in the house forgets the lock is engaged, it does stop them cold.

We love these Burglabars! We had one on our sliding doors for years and it finally broke! After being on the glass, in direct sunlight, it took a while to get the back-piece off the glass...it was on there good! I immediately ordered more and they were placed the same day we got them! They really work!

I have 4 slider doors all open to my enclosure. I've been using it on the one door to stop my toddlers from opening the door for over a year. My other worry was what if one of my toddlers or even a teenager unlocked another slider and I'm none the wiser. Then it occurred to me that although I rarely ever open any of the other doors, it was foolish to have no recourse if I'm here alone or even away. I like the idea of one up and another toward the bottom. I'm ordering one more to make sure that every window is doubled locked.

Ordered these because we have 2 toddlers that keep escaping through the slider door. Wanted a product that would work and one that we would not have to alter or drill holes in our slider. Received the product and thought, no way...these will not work. Installed anyways cuz the stress of the escapees was getting to be too much. Prepped the glass as instructed and stuck it on the glass just below where the glass and door meet and very close to the inside edge at the top of the door. Let it set for one full day before using, just so it would adhere correctly. GREAT PRODUCT. We have not had any issues, its been a few months since we installed and thousands of flips. Holds great, has not come off and does the job. Price is great. We installed this inside and are also going to install outside on the slider as well...

Work like they should . I think the trick to sticking well is clean with Iso. alcohol 70% let dry and stick and forget for a couple of days. I recommend these to my friends all the time.

This are a great product! We have a doggie door insert in our slider and these are perfect for keeping the door closed with the insert in. They are attractive too! look a lot better than putting a bar or board in the slider to keep it secure. I bought a second set for our bedroom slider.

Bought to make sure my toddler couldn't open our sliding glass door after he learned how to unlock it. I was able to instal 1 of the 2 bars on the middle/top of the door. This has prevented him from getting out making me feel more safe with him in staying in the house.

Very clever and simple idea. Another one of those "why didn't I think of that" products! It solves a nagging problem on my RV. The latches on the sliding glass "clothing closet" doors are always breaking. I simply removed them and replaced them with rubber bumpers. I then installed the burlabar near the top of the doors. Now the doors don't bang when closing and they are securely locked when traveling. As a bonus, my grandkids can't open the doors when locked!
