Acer G276HL Kbix 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) VA Zero Frame Monitor (HDMI & VGA Ports)

Acer G276HL Kbix 27

Just purchased 3 of these monitors and they look amazing see for yourself in my picture:)

I was using a 20" iMac for a very long time. When it died, I couldn't afford a new one, so I transferred my operations to a 13" MacBook, and obviously missed all that screen area, and decided to shop for a new monitor. I found this one here on Amazon at an excellent price, and also got the VGA adapter for my MacBook (Mini DVI to VGA).

Connection was no problem at all; Mini DVI to VGA adapter to the MacBook, VGA cable (included with the monitor) from the adapter to the VGA port on the monitor. Plugged the monitor into AC power, turned it on. No picture immediately, unplugged the adapter from the MacBook and plugged it back in; there we go, picture. I found a couple of tutorials on using an external monitor with the MacBook, learned the various options, ran the System Preferences for "Display", set it the way I wanted it, and I'm up and running.

Picture on the monitor looks just great with the settings right out of the box, no reason to change anything.

It's been only 2 days, but so far, I'm very happy with this monitor; it's exactly what I was looking for. Easy setup, great picture quality, excellent price; who could ask for more...

Very happy with this purchase. My cat knocked over my old Dell 24" LCD monitor and the warranty expired two months before, I did not wanna pay for another low quality monitor. I work from home most weekends so this was an emergency. Since I had some money left on my Amazon Gift Card, I used that to buy this monitor. I used this monitor at my former job except I think it had to be a 19", it also had an HDMI port. This one does not, but because it comes with the VGA cord and the largest white cord, I easily plugged it into my docking station and after fiddling with the screen resolution it works perfectly. I am okay with the fact that it does not tilt. I have no complaints about the resolution. A lot of reviews seem to be nitpicking about the tilt and resolution but instead of being cheap... Just search for a monitor that tilts and has good resolution. Reading is fundamental.

Update. It tilts slightly up and down. Regardless, still a great monitor

My wife recently got a job working from home as a call center customer service representative for a Fortune 100 companies and one of the requirements was having dual monitors so that she could have multiple applications opened to comfortably service their customers. My wife was using her laptop and a monitor to meet the dual monitor requirements, which was ok, so I got her a second monitor. I mounted the monitors on a Vivo Dual Monitor Desktop stand, which works perfectly. The picture quality on the the monitors are awesome and it performed as advertised, I just wished it had a HDMI port or two to connect our Apple TV.

I bought this to replace an aging LCD monitor. Man, is this new monitor bright! Out of the box, the brightness is set to 100%; I turned it down to 30%.

The colors are vibrant and crisp, and the contrast is very nice. I play a lot of PC games, and games look absolutely gorgeous. The backlighting of the monitor is a nice, even tone across the face of it.

The menu controls are a little tough to figure out. It took me five minutes of playing with them to get it (I never read the manual). That shouldn't be too much of a problem, as you'll probably set it once or twice, and never touch it again.

The power button is a round protruding piece of clear plastic hanging off the bottom right of the frame, and it glows blue when on. Very easy to find in the dark, whether the monitor is on or off.

The inputs are VGA and DVI-D (no HDMI). No speakers, either, which is great; monitor speakers are usually a wasted expense IMO. Standalone speakers are a much better value.

The power cord has an external brick. That probably keeps the design of the monitor thin and light, and helps it stay cooler. My last monitor had the AC adapter internal, so it was able to use industry standard power cables (the type your PC probably has). This monitor has a specialty cable for power.

In fact, there are four cables in the box; everything you need to connect it to the video output of your PC. The four cables are the power cord, the AC adapter, the DVI cable, and the VGA cable. Some manufacturers skimp by not giving you the cable you need to connect to your PC, so it's very nice that those cables are included in the box.

My biggest complaint with the monitor is that the stand only lifts the screen 2.5" off of your desk. I will need to buy a monitor stand for it (or improvise something, more likely). The monitor does have the four standard screw holes on the back for mounting on an arm or on the wall.

As of this writing, I've only had it for a day, but it's a very impressive monitor so far.

Excellent Monitor especially for the price! I have had no problem with this monitor in fact ive had one for a year now and i just bought another when I ordered my computer to build! These monitors side by side look great and perform great as well! I am hoping to get a Mount for my desk when i am able to and these will be able to mount because they have the VESA mounting spots on the back of the Monitor!

This is an excellent monitor if you're looking for a desktop application. If you're searching for a gaming monitor then I would skip on this one. Why no complaints about the screen quality there's nothing is going to blow you away and I certainly wouldn't want to use it to watch the latest movies screen quality and Graphics is what I'm into. But if you're looking for a solid monitor for your desktop computer then it's hard to go wrong with an Acer product.

PROS - excellent price in screen quality for a desktop application.

CONS - if looking for a gaming or a movie monitor than I would look elsewhere.

This is a great monitor! Colors are vivid and accurate, definitely HD quality, and the 19.5" screen has dimensions equal to an HD TV, so watching movies through it is just like watching a small TV, meaning that a wide full screen movie has no black bars.

Although the stand is a little too shaky, the only thing I absolutely despise about this monitor is it has two splash screens from a cold start, one advertising Acer followed by a second one for its "Energy Star Rating". The combination of those two will stay on the screen so long that my computer passes totally through the BIOS phase before dropping out, and there is no option for changing that. (I don't need to be reminded that it's made by Acer, nor do I give a damn that it's energy efficient! It's RIDICULOUS!)

So in summary, if a 19.5" monitor is big enough for you (I don't want anything bigger), and if you can put up with its splash screens, I highly recommend this one. (Note: Try setting the brightness and contrast both to zero in the monitor then do the adjusting with your video drivers. I think you'll find that is the best way to achieve personal settings.)

Good luck!

I don't game. Most of what I do on this screen is write, with breaks for burrowing into the internet when I should be nose to the grindstone. It is bright, crisp, and wide--a big change from my old screen, and a little difficult to get used to for use with the browsers. The adjustments aren't ergonomic--scrolling through nested menus requires a learning curve and can be frustrating, but once I got things to "good enough" that wasn't much of a factor. It is very bright, and I've had a difficult time toning the overall brightness down without also dimming the content. I'm nitpicking, of course. I paid 85 bucks, which feels like a steal. It may just be a little more than I need--although all that brightness translates to great movie performance.

I was actually a little surprised that this monitor did not have an HDMI port given that it's current technology. Yes, it clearly states that it does not have one but I just assume most technological items these days have an HDMI port so please be aware that this one does not have one! Don't worry though you can easily buy a cable that converts to an HDMI cable so I suggest checking different cables out because they are quite cheap.

I think this is a great monitor for the price. The base is compact but I found that it sits a little low. I have another Acer monitor that is a higher end model that is much taller than this one so in order for me to make them the same height I have to raise this monitor by placing it on school book. You might want to check out the height measurements if you are buying this monitor to be a second or third monitor. No complaints really. It's definitely not as clear as my LED monitor but it's still really nice quality. I use it as a second monitor.
