UGREEN Network Adapter USB 3.0 to Ethernet RJ45 Lan Gigabit Adapter for 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Supports Nintendo Switch Black

UGREEN Network Adapter USB 3.0 to Ethernet RJ45 Lan Gigabit Adapter for 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Supports Nintendo Switch Black

In case you are wondering if this particular gigabit ethernet will work with the Nintendo Switch, it does indeed work 100%. Works at 1Gb speeds right out the box. Best part is you can see from the pics I attached (2 images) it will fit without any issue from the back of the Switch’s dock. Once you plug this in, the wired icon shows up in the switch’s OS menu and your connection will work natively without any issues.

Works great on Nintendo Switch. Plugged it in and it just worked.

If you are using this adapter for your Switch please beware: when you put your Switch in "SLEEP MODE" while docked with the adapter connected, it will continue to run your Switch warm all night. I discovered it THIS MORNING that my Switch was WARM when it was in SLEEP MODE. It should NOT be ware when nothing is being used. Apparently the new Switch update doesn't play nicely with this adapter.

In short, DISCONNECT YOUR ADAPTER AFTER USE OR YOUR SWITCH WILL FOREVER BE WARM WHILE IT IS DOCKED. This is NOT GOOD for the internal battery.

TL;DR adapter will cause Switch to run WARM while it is docked SLEEP MODE. DISCONNECT after use.

So if you're a Nintendo Switch user, you might be here reading reviews because you cannot get through a single online game without your connection being interrupted or lost or whatever the heck it used to say. That was me. A multitude of Mario Kart nights with buddies lost because I couldn't stay connected long enough to get through one race. I tried all the trouble shooting stuff, changing DNS, setting frequencies, restarting the thing, you name it. Nothing worked. So I bought this and just hardwired the Switch directly to my modem.

Problem: Solved. Game night is flawless now. Big thumbs up, thanks!

Having a Home Office complete with a Gigabit Internet service here, and a Gigabit Home/Business network., I found that I have a couple devices that needed to connect to my network but they have an older build it WIFI Adapter that doesn't support speeds near as fast as my network can handle, and had no onboard LAN Adapter.

This means that they only way I could connect them to my Gigabit Switch was to use a USB to RJ45 Dongle. I looked at a few different ones, but I have always known UGREEN as providing quality products at very inexpensive prices.

Unfortunately the first one I received had an issue where it would not connect to my device, and the network would drop every 2 seconds. UGREEN immediately sent me a replacement and as I suspected, it worked absolutely flawlessly. With the dongle I was able to get the devices that had notoriously terribly slow data transfers on my network upto as fast as the USB slot it was connected to could handle and in cases, I was hitting over 800 Mbps, which is just shy of the Gigabit speeds my network supports.

With the very inexpensive price, the know quality and reliability of UGREEN products, and even with receiving an unfortunately detective first unit, the replacement worked just as well as I had expected, and has been working flawlessly ever since.

I do recommend UGREEN even though there was a hickup, as it could happened with any companies products, but it has since held up to their reputation of quality.

Purchased for the switch instead of the "Hori" brand at Target which is $29.99. I plugged it into the back part of the switch dock instead of the side of it so it would be concealed and tucked away at the back. After that you just have to go to the internet settings and select wired and it will 'switch' over from wireless. Internet test showed everything was where it should be performance wise. When you pick up the switch it will go into wireless mode obviously since at that point it is no longer directly connected with the dock. It takes a bit of time to reactivate connections automatically between wireless and wired mode.

Our WiFi modem isn't located that far away but it isn't the greatest brand and there are things in the way or devices causing interference so our signal will jump up and down. Our tv works fine streaming wireless but the switch doesn't get a strong enough signal. We tweaked some settings in the router and moved it and the switch but in the end it didn't do much. We bought this since most of the time our games would end due to disconnections but now I will say that hasn't happened at all since we hooked it up. Thanks for making this product!

I watched the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct on 11/1/2018 and they recommended getting a USB to Ethernet network adapter for the most stable connection. Knowing that I was going to use the front two ports of the Switch dock for my Gamecube controller adapter I was left with only the USB 3.0 port on the inside of the dock. I thus needed to find one that would fit outside of the docks housing and one that preferably supported USB 3.0 to take advantage of those capabilities. This UGREEN Network Adapter fit the bill perfectly as seen in the photo and it increased my download speed on the Switch by 244%!

The image with "Little Blue Light Show" in the SSID is of the Switch when docked and connected to wireless with no software suspended. My Switch is located in the same room as my wireless router and it sits only about six feet away from it. The image with the "-" in the SSID is of the Switch when docked and wired via Ethernet through the UGREEN network adapter with no software suspended. These tests can all be ran on the Switch by going into the settings and selecting "Test Connection" under the "Internet" tab. I am quite happy with my results as seen in the photos and I intend on updating this review once Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is released in December.

I got this because my son would complain all the time about his Switch not being fast enough on wifi, and if you do have a switch you know Nintendo did a terrible job with its connectivity, So I ordered this adapter, and I had a not so fine experience at first, for some reason or another it would not allow the switch to connect to the wired line so I wrote a review that was not very kind about the adapter, then to my surprise I got an email from UGREEN it was customer service, and they went out of their way I believe to send me a new one to try, and although it took a few extra days and more complaining from my son the new adapter worked as it was advertised, I'm actually happier with the companies attention to the customer than with the product, although the product still works, and yes I would order again.

I have a gigabit internet service. I have an older USB Dock and was only getting ~400Mbps when hardlined into it. I decided to try this device to get my true speeds, assuming my USB 3 dock was not capable. This device did the trick, and my Fast.com speeds started clocking in at 1.1Gbps. After a couple of weeks, though, this device is now only giving me 30Mbps and no amount of uninstalling, disconnected, plugging/unplugging, or resets are helping. My wifi is still giving me 70Mbps on my laptop, and the old dock is still giving me the ~400Mbps, so it is not an issue with my provider or other settings. Disappointing to have worked for so long and now it is not.

UPDATE: I have received a replacement device, and it is back to working at full speed meaning it was not a Windows update, and just a device failure. I will keep track of any new issues if any come up.

Works very well for what I use it for, the Nintendo Switch. One minor caveat not related to this products own fault, but Nintendo thought it smart to keep the Switch powered on if you keep a LAN adapter connected to the dock with Switch docked. This causes the Switch to warm up a little, so make sure you have proper ventilation, otherwise use an adapter if you can, the consistent speeds are worth it, because the Switch's NIC/antenna hardware is atrocious.
