I'm an adult. I eat baby food. There, I said it. Afflicted with a crappy auto-immune disease that hurts my mouth (Lichen Planus) almost all food is painful to eat. So I've given in to sucking down various, bland nutrients as fast as I can. There is not joy in this. And some baby food is vile. Babies, it turns out, will eat the vilest of foods. This food is not vile. It tastes good, though I still try to ingest it with a quickness. All hail this organic pulp.
My 22 month old daughter LOVES the Plum Fruit pouches. I always taste new food that I give to her, and I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the flavors are. Most canned/jarred food tastes to me as if it is decomposing right there in the jar! But I found these fruit flavor to be very fresh and delicious. I am concerned about what she eats, I pack her lunch for daycare everyday, she doesn't eat any overly processed foods, she eats lots of fresh fruits and veggies, she's never had high fructose corn syrup and I feel confident including Plum Organics Pouches as a snack a few times each week. The ONLY ingredients are the fruit and occasionally some lemon juice is added.
Make note!! You get TWO boxes of SIX (12 total pouches)
Concerned about China? It's a shame that people post alarming reviewed without understanding the facts. The pouches are made in China, as are probably 90% of all packaging of of foods you and your family consume. HOWEVER, some important points:
(1) The contents (the fruit puree) are made in NORTH AMERICA, from mostly North American produce, but some tropical fruits come from South America
(2) The packaging is created in China and is made from 3 layers of material, including aluminum foil and the inner layer is PET (polyethylene) which has been determined safe and is BPA free. The CREATORS of the pouch are a partnership of a Japanese, an Italian and a US company. The just outsource the manufacturing to China. The machine that fuses the pouch together is made in Italy, so it's not like the "evil" Chinese could just switch out the pouch liner for a different chemical based plastic - it wouldn't work in the machinery.
(3) The pouches are sterilized during the filling process and the Ph level is maintained below the amount at which microbes can multiply.
It is true that China doesn't always have the best food practices, but this food is NOT manufactured in China, just the pouches using non-Chinese technology and machinery.
Whomever invented these baby pouches should get a medal. No need to transport spoons, bibs, or worry about slopping baby food out of an open container. Plum pouches are especially good because of their attention to the ingredients. I keep two of these in the diaper bag at all times, and another in my purse just in case. If your baby is distracted, you can reapply the lid and try again in a few minutes. I roll these up from the bottom as baby eats and end up with a consistent result - clean, happy, quickly fed baby on the go. Yay for being able to order a case. Pick your favorite blend and stock the pantry, because you will use them all!
These are comparable to the Gerber Organic pouches, and I actually purchase both brands regularly. I've been using these for the past 3 months, and tried other products such as baby food jars and the little plastic boxes. The packaging makes these easier than the standard glass jars to toss in your diaper bag and go since they are flatter and more flexible. They're easy to open, and easy to re-close. Like rolling up the bottom of your toothpaste bottle, it's easy to get every last drop out of these so it mitigates waste. They're easy to squeeze directly onto a baby spoon, but I recommend massaging the bag a bit before opening because sometimes it can clump a bit near the mouth and the first bit shoots out fast.
I've tasted them and they're semi-sweet and delicious. My daughter appreciates the variety and enjoys exploring new flavors, so it's fun to mix these up with other flavors.
These are the best baby/toddler pouches we use. We are subscribed to the yellow, green, purple variety pack and my 2 year old daughter loves them still. I have tried some of the other variety packs they offer but the price per pouch becomes unreasonable compared to what I can them in the store. However, the yellow, green and purple variety pack is a good deal and it goes on sale on Amazon occasionally too.
These have no added peservatives or sugar which is why we have been using them for over a year. The purple carrot is my daughters favorite and usually goes first before the others. These are a good way to get extra vegetables and fruit into your kids diet in my opinion.
Lastly, I try all the foods I give to my kids to ensure I like it before blindly giving them new products and these were fine with me.

Description
Second Blends (6+ months), a Stage 2 baby food line with blends of fruit and veggies that are perfect for exposing your little foodie to unique flavors and colors. Using only organic ingredients, the blends are in a convenient, resealable pouch that’s perfect for flexible portions.
MY ORIGINAL ORDER WAS RANCID AND NEAR EXPIRATION - AMAZON REPLACED IT WITH NEW PRODUCT THAT HAD A MUCH BETTER EXP DATE. STILL LOVE THE PRODUCT. JUST WATCH FOR OLD EXPIRATION DATES!
Most of the time I make my own baby food but if we are out and about we bring jess with us and they’re great. My kiddo loves all the combinations, and sometimes it’s easier to introduce him to a new food by using something premade if it’s somehing difficult to prepare at home.
Love that these are convenient for travel and that I can just squeeze a mouthful ontona spoon and feed my baby wherever we are.
Also love that they’re organic and simple ingredients. Definitely recommend.
Two years into solid food, this continues to be a favorite in our home. It’s a nice smoothie! Both pear and mango are high FODMAP foods (for adults who care) but it’s a brilliant shot of fruit for anyone, especially if you like mango juice (and pear purées yum). The 2.5 year old has to be monitored around these so we keep them hidden (we still use vegetable containing pouches to ensure he gets more veggies and keep those front and center). Pear Mango is an excellent entry into multiple flavor solids.
We have bought several packs of this flavor. It seems like an odd combination - it is like applesauce with broccoli in it...but BOTH of my babies liked it and eat broccoli plain now as a result. I would say it is a fluke, but both kids loved this. We introduced it early on around 7 mo and my older daughter now prefers steamed broccoli as a side and will order it at restaurants.
I keep these on hand for my 9 month old, as easy food to pack for on-the-go or quick snacks when I don't have something made for her.
The packaging was better than other baby food deliveries I've had, each flavor came in its own box with a tear away section for easy cupboard storing and access. The flavors are creative and a good fruit/veggie combination, though the main flavor/ingredient is always fruit (seems to be the case for all the big baby food companies) rather than the vegetables, but these make it very easy to introduce new flavors/ingredients without a lot of waste.
