You know, I was a little hesitant to buy this case at first. One of the reasons I love the kindle e-readers so much is because of how thin and light they are, and this case looked way too bulky to me. But then I had to be reasonable, the reason I was buying a new case in the first place was because my old e-reader took an unfortunate spill off the counter after 5 years together and the screen was a lost cause, so I needed protection for my new paperwhite.
This case is FANTASTIC. It is SLIGHTLY bulky, but only enough to protect your kindle from all dangerous encounters it might have, I have no doubt that my paperwhite is going to be around for a while in this thing. It's also made very well, very very good quality, probably as good as those other $50.00-60.00 cases you see on amazon of "genuine leather."
My kindle fits very snuggly inside, is easy to use once in the case, puts my kindle to sleep and wakes it up which is fantastic because I hate fumbling for that little power button, and the stand's 3 settings are sturdy enough to withstand a mega-sneeze while sitting on your belly. I am exceptionally impressed, and I highly recommend this case. It's not going to turn your kindle into a monster, in fact you'll be so pleased with the case you won't even mind the thickness of it, I didn't notice it after an hour of it out of the box, but it might turn you into a reading machine, because your'e going to be able to bring your e-reader with you everywhere now without worry of it being damaged.
Now you might be thinking as I was, do I really need the stand? with my old e-reader I just held it, or propped it up against something nearby. Bute believe me when I tell you, you don't know what your missing out on with hands-free reading. I never read with it in my palm anymore, but if you want to, you can without it being super awkward. I ready during breakfast, during work, ruing lunch break, during class, its fantastic. your arms don't get tired anymore from laying in bed holding it up, just set it on your stomach and relax your arms behind your head, hours of hands-free pleasure. The stand is worth it, so worth it.
This is one of my favorite purchases so far from amazon. I couldn't be more pleased with this item.
After going through a bunch of different cases for my paperwhite, I liked this one enough to give it a shout out since I always see the Omoton or Moko book style being recommended.
Warning: it is NOT SLIM!
I don't know why it took me so long to find this case with the amount of reviews it has received. My first impressions of it today has been really good. In the past, I've had the official Amazon Premium Leather cover, the Pad & Quill Minikeeper cover, the Moko regular slim cover, and the Inateck felt sleeve. Aside from the Minikeeper, this cover feels the most sturdy of all of them.
What I love about it is how easy it is to remove the Kindle itself from the cover. It is held in by a little flap so there is no velcro, adhesive, or wedging mechanism that holds it in; don't worry, it is very sturdy. The magnetic cover is great as well. You can see in the images where the magnets are supposed to be, and unlike the preview images show, the magnets on my cover aren't nearly as visible. They are also VERY sturdy; I can hold the entire device + cover by the front cover alone and it doesn't swing open.
The stand mechanism works very well and I have no issues here. The only issue I do have is that the front cover doesn't fold completely flat when folded all the way back (see image). Not a huge deal as I will be using the stand more often on a flat surface or on my stomach when I'm reclined. The cover does add considerable bulk but it is very sturdy and there is little flex (one issue I had with the official Amazon cover was that the front cover had considerable flex and probably would not protect the Kindle's screen from pressure damage. The material feels nice to the touch and the brown color is just as the preview images appear. I am excited to see how well this cover holds up within the coming year, and I will be updating this review by then.
UPDATE April 2018: Works just as it did on day one. Corners are showing slight signs of wear though I admit I am not a heavy user! I bought another one to give my girlfriend who just got a kindle as well.
I have four of these cases, three flips and one regular (opens to the left). And in my opinion these cases walk the talk and talk the walk. They do exactly what they say they will do. They protect the Kindle if dropped (yes, I have done that once or twice), the Kindle "wakes up" when the cover is opened and goes to "sleep" when the cover is closed. The flip case can be adjusted for three different angles for reading. The case itself looks nice open or closed. There are not extra frills to get in the way of your reading.
The flip type are the ones my wife and I use but my 98 year old mother-in-law has the side open design. The only problem I have had was a little excessive wear and tear on the edge of one of the flips (which was promptly replaced at no cost to me.)
The product is very well made, does not smell and is comfortable to hold. It adds little overall weight to the Kindle. This is nice for us and very important for my mother-in-law. (She saw the instant advantage of the Kindle paperwhite and cover when she decided to reread "War and Peace" on cruise that we took a couple of years ago). There is no problem in holding this cased Kindle for several hours at a time. If it does get a little "heavy", it can be put down on a table, chair arm, your lap or on you leg, then the angle of the screen can be adjusted.
I have read a few of the other reviews, mostly good, but some that have me puzzled. But to those people I would recommend an email to the MOKO, explaining the problem. There is a lifetime warranty on the product and they do indeed stand behind their product. You just do not find that kind of customer support these days! My experience with the one problem I have had (excessive wear and tear on an edge) is no muss not fuss problem solved. Total time, 3 days from the time I wrote about the problem till I received a reply with the solution. And even in that short of time, they apologized for the late reply!
It seems every time I'm reading my Kindle Whitepaper while having breakfast or just sitting in an easy chair, I want to prop it up rather than reading it lying flat on the table or holding it at a comfortable angle. I found the MoKo case on Amazon and ordered it right away. With 3 positions available, I can adjust the angle of my Kindle Whitepaper to what is comfortable for my viewing. I don't have to hold my Kindle or make any adjustments to enjoy reading. This case is slightly heavier and thicker than the hard shell case, but the convenience of hands free viewing at an angle that is optimal makes the size and weight insignificant to me. The product is well made. I recommend it to anyone that is wishing for a more comfortable way to read their Kindle Whitepaper.
Note: After using the case for a week, I have added a modification to the case that may be helpful to some of you. To reduce the Kindle sliding on the platform when reading, I have added 3 Velcro strips (see attached photo). The case still fully closes and the Kindle turns on and off when the cover is closed.
I am assigning a 4 star rating to this MoKo case for my Paperwhite even though I do have some issues with it. The case I have been using for many years is not available any longer but what captured my attention to this MoKo case is the ability to stand the Paperwhite upright at three angles for hands-free reading. I can place it on any of the three strips and it will stay where I put it. The ability to stand the Paperwhite upright in this same way was the function I enjoyed so much about my old cover. And, I also liked the color choices available. The material has the appearance of quality leather even though it is not, in fact, leather. The cover is smooth so any food crumbs, dust, dirt, sand just wipe right off with a swipe of your hand. I'm hoping the same will happen if I accidently drop spaghetti sauce on this one like I did with the old cover. The cover is very easy to install your Paperwhite into. There is a long flap at the top and you put your device inside the frame and slide that flap down over the top of your Paperwhite to keep your device inside the cover. My Paperwhite goes everywhere with me so I really gave that enclosing mechanism a lot of healthy shakes and the Paperwhite moved forward some, but it never has come out of the case. The magnetic strips across the top two edges do a good job of holding the device closed. The device goes into sleep mode when the cover is closed or you can leave it open and push the on/off button.
Now for the bits I don't like quite so much. The folded case is thick, in fact twice the thickness of the cover I had on the device. I'm having to get used to that. I have small hands and holding the device in one hand is much harder with this MoKo case and I have to change hands frequently because of hand fatigue. This case is also heavy, that's something else I'm learning to adjust to, it also contributes to the hand fatigue. The final slight negative point is that I have to move the cover aside just a tiny bit to be able to plug in the cord for recharging.
So there you have to good and the not quite so good from my perspective. I read over one hundred books each year on a digital device. Sometimes it's the little things that make a very big difference. So far, I'm learning to adjust to the differences.

My case is falling apart where the bend is. The leather started deteriorating and the mesh underneath is all that is holding it together. It is used on a nightly basis. I've tried gluing and tape but nothing really helps. Supposed to be "lifetime warranty" but Amazon says my return time has expired. Moko sent me another case. They lived up to their lifetime warranty.
Rests comfortably on your lap with 3 different angles for reading while reclining. Folds nicely to hold in one hand. Nice, rich red color. Looks more expensive. It's slightly lighter and much easier to hold with one hand than than the "book style" Verso Prologue (bought in 2013) leather-like cover it replaced.
I had a faux leather, book style vintage case for my paperwhite that I was pretty content with but it began to fall apart in recent weeks. Thus began the great search for a new case. After reviewing many options, I settled for the MoKo case. After using it for about a week, I’m ready to write a review.
I like that the paperwhite slides down into the holder so it feels secure. There is no Velcro closure at the top (like my previous case)—just a flap that tucks in which remains in place on its own. I wasn’t too sure if I would like the way it opens, not like a book. It took me a few days to get used to pulling the flap down and flipping it behind. It doesn’t seem like the material will tear where it folds behind but I’ll see how it holds up in a few months after daily use. Surprisingly, I like the stand option. I used to prop my old case up at an angle if I was reading for long periods of time. This takes care of the problem. At $19, I thought the price point was good. Some cases are waaaay too expensive for what you get. I like the pattern, it’s very cheery though I wish they had more color/pattern options. The feel of the case is a bit funky. It’s not smooth, but has a bit of texture to it. My old case felt like leather (even though it was faux) this one feels a tad more plastic but the inside is velvety. I am very happy with the auto shut off when you flip the case closed. My old case was supposed to have that feature and my paperwhite NEVER turned off and the battery wore down quicker. I’m pleased to report that it works great with this case.
The only thing I wish the cases would come with is an alarm/locater option because my kids constantly knock my paperwhite off the coffee table and it ends up under the sofa/in the sofa/somehow magically transported into someone’s Peppa Pig lunchbox and hidden across the room......but that doesn’t really have to do with this case. I am satisfied with this cover so far and would recommend it to others!
I can't believe I found a case that is SO PERFECT for my Kindle baby! The pink case compliments my white device so nicely. It makes my Kindle feel like both a super cute accessory AND the keeper of all my wonderful E-books. Absolutely zero complaints. I'm just scared about how to clean it when it gets dirty, which is bound to happen, with it being such a light colour and all... Well, I'll cross that bridge when I come up on it lol. NO RAGRETS buying this <3
Perfect case for my needs. There are so few options out there to read while propping the book up vertically but after careful consideration I picked this one. The way it props up is a little touchy, if you accidentally knock the table the book sometimes falls down. The leather (or faux leather) is high quality and after heavy use for the past month hasn't scratched or stained. It cleaned up a sticky substance without soaking in anything. The 3 different grades of slant is really key considering in a well lit room - without draining the battery using the light (I read a lot) - there is a glare sometimes so changing the position is a great feature. I have propped it on a pillow on my belly in bed and it does stay. You can even prop it on a pillow sideways with the back open a bit and read it that way if you are laying on your side. After opening and closing it a few times a day for a month or so, it shows no wear yet. You do have to get used to opening it from the top down though, my old cases always flipped over the top.
One caveat, there is no protection for the micro usb port. You can clearly see it in the picture but it would have been a nice feature considering the port is always exposed.
**UPDATE**
Well, 3 cases later (2 to cover new paperwhites and 1 to replace). Why replace you say? The review is still 5 stars so it must not be that it failed, right? Right.
My damned 100 lb hooligan dog decided to chew on my paperwhite. She hadn't shown interest in two years so her motivations are a mystery. I wanted to update the case review because her shark like maw was unable to damage the kindle itself! She chewed a whole corner of the cover and 10% of the case part covering the kindle. I know she can destroy electronics - the kindle fire TV and Denon remotes have been replaced repeatedly from accidental exposure - but thank god the MoKo case held up. It was my newest paperwhite the Japanese 32 GB import and I would have been very sad if she had gotten to it. I think the thickness of the case itself saved it - or we didn't leave her alone with enough time. Whichever the reason, I repeat my 5 stars. No picture because I threw it away in horror (when I walked in and saw it on the floor I actually covered my eyes) but trust me, it was mangled. The 'thickness' that other's complain about saved it. Usually I get the black, I got the denim blue one for a change this time.
