Anker New iPad 9.7 in (2018/2017) / iPad Air 2 / iPad Pro 9.7 in / iPad Air Screen Protector, Anker Tempered Glass Screen Protector with Retina Display, Anti-Scratch, Smudge-Resistant, Easy Installation

Anker New iPad 9.7 in (2018/2017) / iPad Air 2 / iPad Pro 9.7 in / iPad Air Screen Protector, Anker Tempered Glass Screen Protector with Retina Display, Anti-Scratch, Smudge-Resistant, Easy Installation

Quite simply, this product does what it claims to do and was VERY easy to install properly. Anker really went all out in helping the installation process by including paper "hinges", tabs for lifting without touching the screen, and cleaning items. Super simple!

One suggestion for those new to this process. When it instructs to remove the protective coating and rotate the protector onto the surface of your tablet, be sure to QUICKLY press the center to start the adhesion process. I hesitated a couple seconds and adhesion started from the corners in. This caused large air bubbles in the center as you'd expect! I used the stiff bubble-remover to "squeegee" the bubbles to the edge and off, but it was more time-consuming that it would have been if I'd been on the ball. Even so, the protector is now bubble-free and looks just great.

One final note, the original product I received was cracked and broken across the middle and in two corners. I have no idea how this happened as the box it came in was unmolested. It almost looked like a returned item that somehow was sent right back out. No problem, though -- Amazon was great as always about taking the product back.

This protector has been on for all of 3 hours now, so I'll update this review if it doesn't hold up over time. I've been pleased with all of my Anker products so far (USB hub, USB wall plugs), though, so I expect it to hold up well.

Very difficult to install. Hard to simultaneously line up the home button hole and the camera hole. I had to remove and reinstall several times. The hinge tape method looks easy, until you start folding the glass over, for the install, and one of the tape hinges pops off the back of the iPad. So you are helpless during the critical part of the install. When I finally got it on clean, I installed my rubberish case. The case has a back side which barely overlaps the top edges of the ipad. That tiny overlap hit the screen protector, which immediately started to rise up off the iPad. I finally gave up and threw it out. I spent 30 minutes, and ended up very frustrated.
I bought a Sparin protector. I installed it with the case on, and it dropped in place, perfectly centered. The case edgeserfectly aligned the glass. It took 5 minutes. If you have a iPad case, 1st see if the Anker (with the film on) fits inside the case overlap. If it doesn’t, I wouldn’t even try to install it.

Update: After leaving a one star review, Anker contacted me and sent me a free replacement. I installed it with my case on the iPad , and it went on perfectly. Ankor’s Customer Service is on top of things, and certainly performed professionally by contacting me, and not me contacting them. I have now raised my experience to 5 stars.

As clutzy as I am, I needed a screen protector. I went with glass because I like the one I have on my phone. I also knew I didn’t need a $40 one either. I put this on last night and it took maybe 20 min and that’s reading the directions. They leave a lot to be desired, but it’s not that difficult. What it doesn’t tell you based on the pics is that you need to put the hinge stickers and the pull sticker on the glass. The directions make it seem as if they are already supposed to be on the glass. They are in the envelope with the other needed items.

The key is to be patient and take your time. I wore latex gloves (drs gloves) so I wouldn’t smudge my screen after I cleaned it. Even after using the lint tape provided I still managed to get a speck stuck under the glass. It’s around the bezel and hidden under my case so it wasn’t a big deal.

I found the card given was useless for me when trying to get air bubbles out. I just used my fingers with the gloves still on.

It fits nicely in my case and I lost no sensitivity for my fingers or my Apple Pencil. There is no lag either. For the price, this is a great investment.

Good looking screen protector. Clear, responsive. Nice rounded edges. A teeny bit smaller than iPad screen, which I don't care for. I'm probably talking a millimeter, but it will attract dirt.

Do Not follow the lousy application instructions. I have put on a ton of these and although I'm pretty good at aligning, I thought "what the heck" and followed the hinge application. Well it is just stupid. The tape moves, causes misalignment, and I ended up having to pick up my screen twice to fix it and remove dust that snuck in. As a result, I have one poorly adherent corner. One star added for not cracking in the process. Back to what I usually do. 1. Clean screen well with eyeglass cleaner. Their teensy alcohol wipe is useless. 2. Dry with my eyeglass cloth. (Their cloth caused clouding). With scotch tape or better yet, nice wide clear packing tape, pick up the dust. Peel the screen protector, hold by the edges, stand over your iPad and carefully drop into place. Don't press down. Pick up edges with rolled up tape tabs if necessary and lift any additional dust.

Usually, they say you get what you pay for and this screen was exactly what I've been looking for.

I bought a screen protector a few months back that was slightly cheaper than this one and honestly didn't expect it to last -it didn't. And it was falling apart within a month and bubbles on the four corners were a serious problem because it wasn't slightly beveled liked this one. So basically what I'm trying to say is that I finally found a match to all the checkpoints I was looking for.

With the other screen, there was a time where I tossed my keys on the screen of my iPad by accident and it left a scratch on the glass but didn't really mind because it was just taking a hit for the team. Stupidly, I made the same mistake again forgetting I had left my iPad on the table and tossed my keys pretty much watching in slow motion as it landed with a crash right where the screen was. When I checked the glass screen protector for damage, to my amazement, there was none.

I highly recommend this one. It's cheap but not so much so that it doesn't deliver and it's lasted longer than the other one did with no bubbling problems that can't be fixed. The only reason one pops up from time to time is the plastic cover I have for my iPad which can sometimes push up the last corner I have to adjust when putting it back on after cleaning it.

I had not applied a screen protector in a while. This glass screen protector was much easier to install than anticipated, based on the plastic film style I had used in the past. Anker sent an email with a link to a youtube installation video. Watched that and followed the directions that came with the screen protector, the hinge method. It worked great. No bubbles after squeezing a few out right after installation. The screen looks the same. Cannot detect any difference in responsiveness, with either finger or pencil on my iPad Pro. Not sure screen protectors are really necessary--used the iPad Pro for a while without one, and my iPhone 5s never had one (it is now several years old). But they have become so inexpensive and easy to apply that it seems to be good insurance. Just put one on my phone. Very much recommend this Anker screen protector. Thought I would likely mess it up and end up throwing it away on the first try and would need to buy another one. The home button feels a bit more inset, that is the only "negative" at all, though it works fine--just feels a bit different. Good job, Anker!

I've become a big fan of Anker products over the years because they deliver--and this one lived up to expectations, too. The packaging is incredible--not just protective but also sleek and professional. Instructions are very easy to follow, with all implements you need included (and the strips, microfiber cloth, and squeegee are reusable, too). I'd only ever put on an iPad mini screen protector before this one, so I am no "pro" at it, but I sure looked and felt like one because the instructions are that simple and user-friendly. I encountered horrible bubbles initially (on the first try, they were HUGE--two gigantic bubbles that started out about 1/4th of the screen each and that wouldn't squeegee out fully; on the second try, I had smaller ones that would move with the squeegee when I applied pressure, but then moved back when I released the squeegee and pressure). However, I did what the instructions said: lift a corner to get the bubbles out. I had to do that twice. On the third try, I lifted the corner and gently pushed the glass down with one finger to ease the bubbles out as I helped the glass seal. That did the trick. But you need to be careful so as not to crack the glass.

I love the feel of the glass and that it looks and feels like the original screen--but with added protection. The fit is excellent, too. I'm very happy with my purchase and with Anker!

Also, I am a regular customer. I pay my own hard-earned money for products and post reviews that I hope will benefit other regular, real customers like me--because I appreciate when other REAL customers do the same.

This is absolutely perfect for my iPad 2018 edition.

It fits just right for my screen when I have a case on it.
Honestly, I believe that iPads aren't as useful in terms of grip without a case, but that's beside the point.

This glass protector is very fingerprint resistant. It's like using a premium glass that is offered with the OEM Apple screen that is built on the surface when new.

I could literally spend $10.00 everytime I want a new feel for my screen by scratching this one up without a care in the world.
(Of course, I would be using a case and that's care enough to keep a grip with my iPad! Again, beside the point.)

The installation stickers help guide me through the process of getting my screen on perfect. I'd recommend you watch the video on how to get it on because it will be worth it. This is a perfect way to get the protector on without using the large plastic piece that more expensive protectors will throw in to help you line up your screen. I have even had those work less efficiently than this system does. I can tell that the money saved by not having that extra piece goes directly into glass quality.

Once I adjust the stickers a few times, I just pull off the back adhesive and apply the protector for a perfect alignment that is quick and dust free. (Be sure to practice a few times before actually taking off the back adhesive!)

Thanks Anker. You let me have fun with my iPad instead of always having to keep an eye on how I hold it.

Happy to 5 Star and want to try your "Quick Charge" next.

My love affair with Anker products continues with this beautifully crafted glass screen protector. I was worried about installing it, but Anker has made it a total no-brainer. Take your time and follow the instructions and your protector will line up perfectly. They cleverly created a method whereby you use stickers to create a hinge. First, you lay the protector on the iPad without removing the backing. You apply the "hinge stickers" the protectors, half on the top, and half wrapping around the side. You use a third to act as a "lifter" on the opposite side to lift the protector away from the iPad on the newly applied hinge. Clean the screen. Blow some compressed air across it to ensure there's not dust. Remove the backing from the protector. Then, use the lifter to swing the protector back on top of the iPad in one careful precise move. Press from the middle to the outer edges and VOILA! These folks not only create great products for a great price, but they're geniuses as well. I've been very pleased with all the Anker products I've purchased, and their customer service is first rate.

Could not get the screen aligned properly with the sticker hinges so I gave up on them. Tried installing manually and got a pretty accurate alignment but it left some bubbles that did not go away after 48 hours. Trying to get it on without dust was a pain in the ass. Decided to toss the protector and risk it with keeping it in the case with smart cover. The whole reason I ordered it is cause my last iPad got a small nick when I wiped it down with a microfiber cloth. A piece of grit must have somehow gotten attached to the cloth and i didn't spot it. There's also a bit of added reflection when it's on compared to the naked screen. I would say screen protectors are not worth the hassle of installation nor reflection. The screens are quite scratch resistant inherently. Though do be careful to dampen your microfiber cloths, check for debris and clean them regularly. The one upside of the protector is the tactile experience and ease of cleaning smudges is greatly improved. The actual screen is more resistant when sliding your finger and much more difficult to clean. You're better off with the Apple Smart Cover and Smart Silicone Case than a protector.

Update: While i still feel screen protectors are not really necessary for tablets such as the iPad i must say Anker's spectacular customer service made decide to update my review from 3 stars to 5. They went as far as sending me the product again free of charge. Definitely an incredible company to purchase from
