I bought both this Spigen Night Stand and the Orzly one, since I could not decide online. I used both stand for 4 nights each. I ended up selecting the Spigen as the keeper for these reasons: the Spigen takes up much less space on my night stand, the Spigen does not require permanent adhesive to stick in place and the Spigen does not put a sharp bend in the charge cable, and has two placement options out each side. My pictures show the side by side size difference.
Used both products, both do the job, but I like the Spigen model much more.
I had a lot of trouble getting the charging puck to stay in the insert. I kept installing it so the puck was very very tightly installed, and flush with the front of the stand, however, after a couple hours it would back itself out and just be lying on the nightstand next to the watch stand. It did this several times and I gave up on it.
After reaching out to Spigen and not getting a helpful response (they wanted pictures of the issue -- lol? -- it backs out slowly over hours to where its no longer installed... not sure what they want pictures of), and talking to a friend who really loved this same stand and did not have my issue (despite his installed flush), I decided to give it another go. I installed the charger puck to where it is protruding from the front face of the stand by about 1/32 to 1/16 of an inch. It's been several weeks now and it has not backed out. The watch still sits on the puck/stand ok, and stays in place, although it doesn't use the bottom catch of the stand like I suppose it's supposed to, since it is protruding out so far. Not a big deal.
Having the stand is MUCH better than having the puck and the watch. I constantly had the issue of the puck wanting to fall off the nightstand -- not anymore.,
I docked a star due to the difficulty of getting the puck to stay installed in the stand. Possibly it is meant to install with the puck protruding, but looking at it's design features, I don't think so. I think I got a partially defective unit. If yours ends up backing out as well, try really jamming it in extra tight and to the point that it is protruding out the front face.
This really is the best value out there. Don't pay ridiculous prices for some of these other docks when you have this one from Spigen available for next to nothing that works perfectly, takes up a small footprint and won't mar up your precious. The adhesive bottom is nice if you have a semi-permanent resting place but it works well without it. These are the same people who make some nice phone cases too so it's a not some fly by night brand (I'm always wary of those).
This would make a great inexpensive gift for someone who just got an Apple watch (to date, this will work with revisions 0, 1 & 2. I've recommended it to several friends and all are super happy with the dock.
*Note that the charging cable is *not* included (they are expensive!) so you might want to pick up an extra one of those.
The Spigen Apple Watch Stand works really well. Let's get that out of the way. I have very few complaints, so since it works so well, I'll just address the couple of niggles I have.
1.) I do wish there were a way for the charging cable to come straight out of the back, rather than the sides. This would tidy things up a little, though this will depend on your bedroom/desk setup.
2.) the 38mm adapter piece it comes with is a little tricky to get straight since it sticks down very easily. I suggest using a credit card to line things up against it as you stick the piece down. The nice thing is that in my experience the 42mm Watch works fine with the 38mm piece installed, too.
Overall, this is an excellent stand. It does a much better job than several others I've tried, and the way it sticks to your desk is very smart. If you're looking at other stands currently, be aware if there's no lip like the Spigen, the Apple Watch will sag due to the strap weight, and I was getting obsessive about trying to balance it to get it rotated straight with a competing stand. Gaaa! I'm glad with the Spigen not to have to do this anymore.
Overall, 4.5 stars out of 5. Highly recommended, especially at this low price point.
I really love this dock. It's very stable and holds the charger and the watch very well. The nano suction cups on the bottom allow it to be stuck and removed multiple times. Something I've noticed that others have complained and given this product a low rating for is the suction on the bottom coming off when removing it after placing it down. The reason it does this is due to improper removal. The way you remove it is by wiggling the dock from side to side until it eventually loosens up. DO NOT pull straight up as the suction is meant to work against this force and will ruin it. I don't know why this isn't stated in the instructions since it is pretty important to know.

Description
The base of the Apple Watch Dock features NanoPads that hold the stand in place when used on smooth surfaces
I’m giving this 5 stars because it’s cheap and does a good job of doing what it is intended to.
It doesn’t come with a charger but it’s also around $6. The quality is reasonably good and it doesn’t feel like it’s gonna break at all with regular use.
I like that the design is very simple and meant to hold the watch horizontally or in nightstand mode. It was easy to set up and I appreciate that two options are given for the orientation of the cable. Also I like that they added that somewhat adhesive material to the bottom so the stand stays upright and doesn’t slight around your nightstand or desk. I should also mention that while I am using this with the 42mm Watch, that they have included a little adhesive strip to add to the stand to support the 38mm as well.
This also leads me to my one fault for this stand. If you are using any type of case on your watch, your watch may not align correctly with the charger which means it won’t charge. I am currently using one of the X-Doria cases on my watch and due to the fact that it extends off the watch 2-3mm, my watch won’t charge on this stand while it’s in the case. Now I like the stand and so I’m willing to just try and modify it which should be easy. Like I said earlier, im leaving it at five stars because it’s nice, it works, it accommodates both 42mm and 38mm watches, and it was very affordable.
If you don’t use a case on your watch and watch a cheaper very usable charging stand then I can easily recommend this.
I've had this little stand for my Apple Watch for almost a year now. I use it every single night, and it's wonderful! It keeps my watch from falling off the table and getting broken or lost. The stand has a slightly sticky bottom (doesn't leave any residue), so the whole stand stays right where I put it. It's not very big, just perfect for what it's used for. I love the simplicity of it. The hole for the charger magnet holds it very snugly in place, but you can still get your charger out easily for travelling. There are two gaps for the cord itself to go into, one on each side in the back. This helps keep things tidy.
I'm very happy with my purchase! I'm sure this stand has kept my watch safe over the past year just by keeping it up and out of the way, and also keeping my watch charged and ready to go.
Just recently got an apple watch and wanted a better charging solution other than just placing it on the wireless charging fob that comes with the watch. The first place I went of course was the Apple store, where their improved charging solution was roughly $80. Not wanting to spend a fourth of the price of the watch on a charging station, I decided to look elsewhere.
After comparing a few products on the Amazon website, this was the clear standout in terms of reviews it's received. Having bought it, I must admit that it works rather well and is a surprisingly simple solution. The charging fob that originally comes with the watch snaps into the open space in the back (with two cutouts for the cable. One facing either way depending on where you want to orient the fob's wiring), and there is a stick on pad that you adhere where the watch rests on the stand while charging.
That is it as far as the setup goes, which is fairly straight forward. After that you just dock your watch to charge it and it holds in securely in place.
As far as I can tell here are the pro and cons of the stand:
Pros:
1. Ease of assembly
2. Price
3. More stable than just the charging fob by itself
4. Allows you to use the watch in alarm clock mode, which is more difficult to enable without the stand (as the watch has to be held upright when not worn to enable, as opposed to flat on a surface)
Cons:
1. Occasionally I place the watch on the stand and it fails to charge due to the watch not making proper contact with the fob.
2. Not great for travelling. Took it on a trip with me recently and it did not wear well. Better for stationary use.
I've had it for about a month and that is about all I've noticed so far.
This little stand should really just come with the Apple Watch! It works great (most of the time-see below). The Apple Watch rests neatly in the holder and stops the Apple Watch from flopping around all over the place and falling to the floor which, of course, only increases the chance of a scratch or break to the display. Fortunately, this stand dramatically improves on the watch's stability while charging and helps it function more like a little traditional alarm clock (by virtue of the display being vertical and clearly visible). I appreciate the sticky bottom to help hold the stand in place because even with the stand and the watch, there's not really that much weight to hold it steady and in place.
Initially, the sticky pad sort of dried out after a few days but I just moistened it up a little bit and now it's working great again. My only issue with this stand is that you have to be careful to check that the watch is seated correctly and actually charging, including making sure the Apple magnetic charger is pushed in as far as it can be into the holder. Otherwise, the watch will not charge and you'll wake up to a dead (or dying) Apple Watch, which has happened to me when I forget to double check that's it's seated properly.
Thanks for a really helpful Apple Watch accessory!
Item works as intended and is very simple. Cheap but gets the job done. The sticky bottom is great for keeping it on my night stand. I ordered two of these, one for work and one for home. The first one, worked great. I put in the charger that came with my watch and it fit perfectly. Since this stand doesn’t come with a charger, I ordered one that was recommended. The non-name brand charger did not work and was too big to fit on the holder. That’s the only reason I gave it four stars. So be warned...you need actual Apple charger to use this stand properly. Or at least a charger that is the exact same size.
