These work to hold small items (receipts, warranty statements from product packaging, etc.) that would get stuck in the scanner. I also use them for the drug instruction/warnings/contraindication statements that come with prescription drugs--the ones printer on very fine paper and folded up dozens of times to get into the Rx box.
The carrier sheet holds these items nicely and the scans turn out well. It also allows you to take long sheets and fold them in half, insert in the sheet and then scan through with duplex scanning. (I haven't used that yet.)
At $6.00 per sheet, they are very pricey. But the Fujitsu on-line store had them for exactly the same price and would have charged me an additional $15.00 to ship. With Amazon Prime, no shipping costs.
The instructions [...] state that these carrier sheets should be replaced every 500 pages. I hope they last much longer than that.
I have had my ScanSnap for four years and use it weekly in my home office. I purchased additional carrier sheets when I purchased it to have on hand. Well, my original carrier sheet is in perfect condition and I have never had to crack open this package. These are I am sure equally good quality.
If you're trying to scan in cards or other small items, say old photos, you really should use this. It protects small items from getting scrunched up or get caught in the rollers.
These carriers work great with my S1300i ScanSnap scanner. I am now able to scan small receipts and clipped articles without having to worry about them getting jammed in the scanner. I deducted one star because I see no reason why these carrier sheets should be so darn expensive as they are just plastic. I didn't try them for a long time because I thought they were over-priced, but I'm glad I finally broke down and got them.
Just received this product but from the look and feel I am confident I will be using these for several years without replacement. Any fragile documents to be scanned should be no problem with the protection these envelopes provide.

These sheets help a lot with the scansnap scanner. I have concrete tickets that are very thin and without these protectors, the scanner would eat them up and crumple them. Using these protectors works perfectly :)
We are on a quest to go as paperless as possible in our house. We bought the Fujitsu SCANSNAP a couple of weeks ago, and it works great. Our latest project is to scan all of the recipes we've collected over the years. This includes magazine & newspaper clippings, index cards, backs of scrap paper- you name it. You'll need the (included) sheet carrier to scan small items and mag/paper clippings. This is really just a couple of sheets of plastic, but works well. Just wanted backups in case original carrier ripped, cracked, etc.
All in all, we're very pleased with this product. Just like original, and works as advertised.

This didn't come with my original ScanSnap (which I LOVE). I've used mine for several years now without it, but I noticed one that came with the newer ScanSnap I bought for an office I was setting up and it seemed like a great feature.
Needless to say, I rarely use it, but it's great to have around for just those times. I can now scan envelopes that I want to keep a copy of without it wrinkling them all up, I can scan pay stubs that are 2 pages glued together without jamming, and I can scan small delicate items that don't fit as easily.
You don't NEED this, but it is a nice add-on to have.
I did a large scanning project last summer and kept thinking there must be a product that would help the odd shaped items. These did the trick. I've very happy with the quality and the way the scanner sees the results.
