Dell 45W Replacement AC Adapter for Dell

Dell 45W Replacement AC Adapter for Dell

The product arrived as expected. I've used it one week and it has started from the git go to prove it works as a DELL power supply. Let's put it this way. I read the reviews before buying it. A few of the reviews indicated it went bad a month after using it. I haven't had it that long. But if it fails after a month or two, I will change my rating. But for now, it's what I expected it to be and it arrived when it said it would. So far I am happy and I expect to stay happy. Like this :-)

The website has pictures of the adapters so you can match the text one the white square tag on the adapter to the original one if you still have it around. If you DO NOT know the codes from the little white tag on your adapter you can find them on Google with your computer make and model to help ensure a proper adapter match.

I followed these steps and took time to match the white tag text and search Google. My adapter arrived quickly and it was the correct model for my daughter's laptop so we were able to charge it up and begin using the laptop again.

On the dell website this charger is $50.00...... ridiculous. I've read multiple reviews on amazon and also on the dell website saying that after a couple months this charger breaks. That is what happened with the original charger that came with my computer. I would rather pay half the price, if it's going to need to be replaced anyways. And I got the 2 year protection. Still paid less that what dell is charging. And this charger works perfectly, for now.

This product arrived on time in excellent condition, and usually works fine. I have only one issue. Occasionally when I reboot my computer, I get a message saying "Unable to identify power source. Battery may not charge. Use only genuine Dell accessories." But this is a genuine Dell accessory, it's the exact item recommended for my Dell laptop, and despite the message it still functions and charges my battery without any problems.

Wrong model number.
Dell won't charge battery when model number doesn't match.

Correction: Dell fixed a problem with computer that kept it from charging. This allowed it to charge with this charger. I'm still not giving 5 stars because of the inaccurate description. Troubleshooting requires certainty of what should work. Ultimately had to buy yet another charger from Dell to be sure before sending laptop in to Dell.

It's like 20 dollars so there is very little risk here. I got this one to replace the original and have not given it another thought past that point. It does feel cheapish but it's not like I ever hold onto it. The plugs fit nice and snug and it charges the battery just fine but it's not super fast at it. Regardless, it gets the job done and that is what I got it for.

This gets 5 stars because the one I got says it's a Dell and works fine with my Latitude 13 3379, and cost about a quarter of what it would have cost to get it from Dell.

I always feel as though buying a Dell-branded laptop power supply is a crapshoot as there are so many counterfeit ones out there but this time I seem to have lucked out.

Sometimes when you have to replace a charger cord for a laptop every time that you plug it in you receive an error message that notes that you are charging the laptop with something that isn't the original cord. This cord has never caused that error message and does an excellent job of fitting my laptop and keeping it charged. I have no regrets purchasing this cord.

I had a XPS13 that suddenly wasnt working. I tested the output with a multimeter and it was putting out volts, but it seems when it was plugged in, the laptop wasnt charging.. the charger wasnt able to handle the amp increase. I tested it with a friends XPS charger, and ultimately bought this and its back to being happy again :)

Better than the original. No more warning messages about having the wrong charger. The plug fits better in the socket and it no longer just pops free. It charges the battery up with no problems. I should have bought this sooner.
