I had thyroid cancer and a weird autoimmune disordered follows. As a result I cannot eat soy, milk, yeast, corn or anything acidic. I feel disheartened when I watch my wife and daughter down cookies and stuff I cannot eat. This makes me feel alive. It makes me feel like I used to feel. My wife says "It's not cost effective" but I don't eat it often. Just enough to feel "normal". A box will last me a few months and it's rather sweet but it's also delicious. I eat a couple, that's 160 calories, I think. A glass of almond milk and I feel like a kid at Christmas.
I'm so grateful to "Enjoy Life" for putting this and other products out. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, that you, thank you, thank you.
I bought 6 packs of the soft baked chocolate chip cookies. Each box measures about 8 x 4.5 x 2 inches. Each box contains 12 cookies. Each cookie measures about 2 x 2 x 0.5 inches.
Cookies are one of the reasons why going vegan has been impossible for me, as I've been unsuccessful in baking them myself. So when I found these cookies here, I was ecstatic. I mean, just look at the ingredients! They are free of wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, shellfish, casein, potato, sesame, sulfites, and many more making these not only vegan but also gluten-free, kosher, and halal.
Some things I want to highlight about these cookies:
- These cookies are full and filling. Not sure if this is a rice flour thing, but I felt like I ate a whole box of regular cookies eating just a few of these.
- These cookies are kind of cakey and chalky, yet moist. Not sure if this is a no egg or dairy thing, I personally don't like them like this but the moisture, which most comparable vegan and gluten-free cookies lack, makes them tolerable.
- There is a subtle, slightly stale cookie taste. I don't think the cookies are stale, but I believe one of these "healthy" ingredients, maybe rice flour, generates this taste. Again, this taste is subtle and I immediately got used to it.
I also didn't realize until now the expiration date is very close. I purchased these cookies in August 9, and the expiration date marks October 28... meaning I need to finish them in 2 months... totally doable but I would have preferred to keep them a little longer.
These cookies are a little pricey, so I hide them from my kids who don't have allergies. If you compare them to regular cookie full of luscious eggs and butter fresh out of the oven, you're probably going to be somewhat disappointed. However, my 3 year old has multiple food allergies and he LOVES that these are his special treat. I've tried them and the really aren't bad. I don't need to eat the whole box (okay, the brownie ones I probably could), but they're really good. I can and do make allergy free cookies for him, but I'm so thankful to have a treat that I know is safe for him ready to go right out of the box.
If you're on the fence between these and the EL brand crispy ones, go with these instead, the crisp ones come all crushed into pieces. These just ship much better.
These are extremely delicious! Every flavor is good. They are the perfect treat for my gluten, dairy and soy free diet. My favorite is the nice spicy gingerbread. These are soft cookies that remind me of the tops of muffins by their shape. They are about the size of a golf ball. Two cookies of any flavor are 120 calories. They didn't leave me feeling bloated like a snack containing gluten would and they're wonderful dipped in tea. I got the variety bundle. There are 12 cookies in each box.
I've been ordering and eating these cookies for as long as they've been on Amazon. I used to eat Kinnikinick, Schar, and Pamela's but there are reasons that I decide to choose Enjoy Life over those other options.
First and foremost is packaging quality, Pamela's products are NEVER sealed correctly and I have absolutely no idea as to why. Each and every case of cookies I've ordered from them are open on the sides of the plastic wrap meaning they go stale incredibly fast and are never as fresh as they could be. Pamela's fails to correct these problems over the past years. Enjoy Life on the other hand is completely air-tight and this results in a dramatically different cookie than the other brands.
Secondly, in terms of flavor and which cookie I enjoy eating the most. To be quite honest Pamela's Chocolate Chip are by far and large my favorite cookie of all time and I would say Enjoy Life is sort of an underdog compared to Pamela's. If I had to choose one flavor of Enjoy Life that could compete with Pamela's Chocolate Chip cookie it would most likely be the Sugar Crisp Crunchy cookie. I have tried almost every gluten free cookie on Amazon and will rate each one accordingly so you can see how these compare!
Enjoy Life Chocolate Chip (Soft): 2/5
Enjoy Life Snickerdoodle (Soft): 2/5
Enjoy Life Chocolate Chip(Crunchy):3/5
Enjoy Life Sugar Crisp(Crunchy):4/5
Enjoy Life Double Chocolate Chip(Soft):2/5
Enjoy Life Vanilla Honey Graham(Crunchy):4/5
Pamela's Chocolate Chip: Flavor 5/5
Pamela's Butter Shortbread: 5/5
Pamela's Lemon Shortbread: 5/5
Pamela's Dark Chocolate Crunch: 3/5
Kinnikinnick All Products: Had Gluten Reaction(0/5)
Schar Everything They Make: 5/5
Overall in terms of packaging, quantity, flavor, and value for price Enjoy Life wins hands down. Every product usually has some kind of con but with Enjoy Life there is hardly any.

Description
Why choose between Enjoy Life Soft Baked Cookie flavors? The Variety Pack comes with all four delicious flavors, Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Brownie, Snickerdoodle and Gingerbread Spice
I have more food allergies and sensitivities than I care to think about and I spent a lot of time looking, buying and eating various cookie options and this one is a winner. It is the closest thing to taste like an actual chocolate chip cookie. Even my boyfriend tried one and started eating them until I reminded him that he can't have them because he's a snack-a-holic and he'd put us in the poor house if he ate them like he does regular snacks, but that goes to show that they are really good because he is not at all interested in going along with the dietary restrictions I have. He likes his cookies, candy and chips too much. I can't find these in every grocery store and we travel the country full time so when I can't find them, I'm bummed and crave them even more. Now that I know I can buy in bulk here, I never have to worry about the great search in stores as much as I have been. I highly recommend these for a sweet treat!
Being allergic to soy, whey, wheat, sulfites, and tree nuts, finding these cookies was a life-changing experience! I am really picky about taste and texture, and these are the closest to "normal people" cookies I have gotten, unless I make them myself (and I usually don't have time to!). Unlike most gluten-free brands, who use rice flour or corn flour for everything, Enjoy Life uses flours with actual nutritional value, like millet and buckwheat: 2 double chocolate cookies contain 8% of your daily iron, which is pretty good for a couple of cookies!
These cookies are absolutely unbelievable. I am nursing a highly sensitive infant and avoiding the top 8. These are a LIFE saver for me, the cookie queen. I typically bake several times a week and enjoy my baked goods quite a bit. These take the edge off when I'm feeling a like I can't take another minute of missing out on my favorite treats. Between a toddler and a three month old I really need something easy to make me feel better now and then and these do the trick. My favorite are the chocolate chip and the ginger spice. They are very soft and chewy and have excellent deep flavors. They don't taste "health foody" at all. I am intending to go on subscribe and save for my favorite flavors. My variety pack came with 2 chocolate chip, 2 brownie, 1 ginger spice, and 1 snickerdoodle. Looking forward to trying the crunchy cookies as well!
These are SO good. I think I ate through 4 boxes within the first week of them arriving. There aren't many cookies in each box (I believe 12), but it's worth it to me. I started a low FODMAP diet when my IBS symptoms got really bad, and I am so thankful for cookies that don't taste like cardboard. I feel better when I eat these and I get my "fill" after eating only a few.
I gave the gingerbread spice box to a family member because it's not a flavor I usually like, but if I had to rank the flavors I tried from favorite to least it would be:
- double chocolate brownie (these remind me of the Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownies which I LOVE)
- chocolate chip (still delicious, but I was blown away by the brownie ones)
- snickerdoodle (I love regular snickerdoodle cookies, but these were just okay)
I am a bit of a chocolate fiend though, so this is obviously my preference. I definitely recommend ordering the variety and trying them all out!
I ordered more boxes of just the brownie flavor after going through the variety pack, and I got the mini chocolate chip cookies in individual packages. I've been eating 2-4 cookies or one of the mini packages as a snack with my lunch when I am craving something sweet and it does the trick!
We get these cookies because my daughter has a dairy and egg allergy. I ordered these online because not only was it was cheaper to buy them this way than at my local store I also was able to get two flavors that aren't offered at my local store. I am always a little hesitant to purchase food online since you don't know what the expiration date will be. Although the box was marked with the expiration date of 5/26/19 (I received this order on 3/24/19) that was only for one box; the rest expire in June and July of 2019. I received a box of snickerdoodle, a box of gingerbread spice, two boxes of chocolate chip, and two boxes of double chocolate brownie. We have tried the chocolate chip and snickerdoodle; both are good. I anticipate the other flavors will be good also; I will update the review if the double chocolate brownie and/or the gingerbread spice are not good.
