I have always been a dell customer and 100% happy with every product I have gotten from them, But this laptop is not quite what I expected. It freezes up at least once every other time I turn it on. The screen flickers before it freezes then I have to do a hard boot to get it going.
UPDATE: I have changed my star rating because all it needed was Bios updated:) Am now happy with my laptop and will continue to be a Loyal Dell fan!
After shopping for months for a 15" laptop, in my price range, I finally decided on this Dell. I wanted an I5 processor with 8 g of Ram and this unit is perfect for me to run my business on. I use MS Office as a cloud based app so I'm able to use this anywhere I have an internet connection. The screen size is easy to see and the keyboard feels good to type on. The best part for me is the keyboard is back-lit. For me I have to have a back-lit keyboard so I can type faster. Overall it is a very good value for the money in my opinion.
Because of the new technology, this 15.6 screen is very comparable to the 17" of my last Dell. Very happy with this computer. It's fast, the backlit keyboard is a nice feature and the touch screen is a big step up for me. I do wish, however, that there was a downloadable user's guide. The only manual I've found online is related to taking apart and reassembling the computer. I need to understand basics such as what are "sticky keys" and how/when to use them! There is also an occasional loud hum in the audio that I don't know to whom i should complain..
Good one. Only downside is, it didn't have USB Type-C port, as mentioned in the description. It has finger print sensor though, which is not mentioned in the description.
I don't understand the negative reviews, unless someone bought it refurbished. I ran the Dell SupportAssist and Windows Update to update the software and tune up the performance and I have to say that this is a very fast machine, and has features that I don't even use at this point. I shopped for all the deals online, and kept going back to this one. I like Dells, and top that off with the 5% I get back using my Prime Visa card, and the way I can count on Amazon to stand behind what they sell was enough to convince me that this was the best deal. I could not beat the price, and I am very pleased.

I must not have read all the aspects of this because it is better than I expected. I wanted something with a backlit keyboard and that was lightweight. This has that but it's also a touchscreen, I didn't pay attention to that part. The only downside, mine doesn't like the fingerprint scanner. If I use it recognizes me, but then it acts weird and I can't get the cursor to show up. But that isn't a big deal for me, so I still give 5 stars!

all issues in bad review are about a windows software, and those have ease to repair. this machine use a best standar parts like core i5 8250U
all brand new machines need update because that updates has part of the basic mantenace of our machine
So far so good. I swapped the hard drive for a SSD and loaded Ubuntu 18.04. So far, no issues. I noticed it has a M.2 SSD slot so I'll probably install one and add another 8gb at some point. (Model 5570)
A great laptop. I was surprised that I could play World of Warcraft pretty easily on it! It does run a little slower on basic startup and general web browsing especially for a brand new laptop, but it looks amazing and does everything I need. I do a lot of graphic design for work and the large screen and awesome quality screen resolution make it great for that.
Had this Dell for several months. I do not get the negative reviews. It is new. Boots fast. Shuts down fast.
Fingerprint scanner is very easy to use. Touchscreen is very responsive. Screen display is very bright and clear. Backlit keyboard is awesome a must have from now on. Specs do not say it has a dvd/cd tray. so stop complaining, read the specs. Much lighter than my old Toshiba(still a great computer). If I run into any problems I will edit my review, but as of now it is the best laptop I have had.
