In general, this is a great surge protector with the bonus of having 2 USB charging ports included. Two major downsides for me are: (1) The casing is not designed to fit flush against the wall, leaving a visible gap around the edges of the surge protector between it and the wall, and (2) The surge protector is designed to fit over both electrical outlet plugs in a standard outlet, but the surge protector only plugs into the receptacle of one outlet and then has a small plastic nub that fits into the bottom outlet rather than plugging into both and utilizing the electrical connections of both outlets. I have an older model that plugs into both outlets and fits flush against the wall, making it much sturdier, cosmetically smooth and seamless, and half of the expansion outlets in the older model are powered by each of the two outlets in the receptacle rather than all of them being powered by (and anchored into) just one of the wall receptacle plugs.
Although the surge protector bolts into the wall socket/receptacle, the fact that it is not flush to the wall combined with not being plugged fully into both outlets of the wall receptacle leaves it slightly loose, and you must be extra careful unplugging appliances from the surge protector. I place one hand against the surge protector cover to hold it firmly in place while I unplug the cord(s) I want to disconnect. Having an older model that plugs into both outlets and bolts flush to the wall set a great standard that I have not been able to find again. Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but I know this surge protector COULD be better if designed to improve the two mentioned weaknesses. Otherwise, I like it enough that I purchased two more for other locations where family members often vie for access to charge their electronic devices, or where they kept unplugging lamps, landline phones, and other stationary electrical devices to charge their phones or tablets. These provide many more outlets in the same location and the capability to plug in USB cords directly instead of bulky adapters, and no one has a good excuse to unplug the lamps, alarm clock, or landline telephone charger.
How well this functions as a surge protector, we have not verified. But the combination of MOV, TVS, and GDT should handle surges quite well.
As other reviewers have written, this thing can be quite loose and downright wobbly if not anchored properly.
Best way to secure this thing to a standard duplex outlet? First remove the center screw that holds the strike plate (cover) over the outlet. Do not discard the strike plate. place the strike plate under the surge protector, keeping everything in line with the long screw that comes with the surge protector. Then carefully plug the surge protector into the outlets, without letting the strike plate slip, and screw everything together. The surge protector will wobble a bit but it will stay in place.
I only tried the vertical orientation this was designed for. I do not know how well it would hold in horizontal orientation.
I have used similar products of same brand -- POWRUI and have good experience with them. When I need multiple protected outlet on the wall, I purchased this little toy. It didn't disappoint me at all. I used it for my home theater set:

1) multiple protected outlets to connect my precious , Big TV, Stereo, Blu-ray player...I know they won'y burned in an accident...
2) USB provided powers for other little gadgets, such as Chromecast, or other media streaming toys.
3) of course, well built, good quality.

POWRUI did it again! I have previously tried a different POWRUI multiple outlet before and loved the compact design and multiple function. Kitchen is the busiest place in my home. Purchased this multi-outlet mainly for its surge protection. I had experienced a few power outages during the peak of summer heat combined with thunder storm. I think it worked pretty well to protect my investment of IOT's, smartphone, laptop and tablet, which were on the charge when it happened.
downside: the outlet spacing could prevent full use of all outlets, if you happened to have weird-shaped or over-sized plugs as I had.

Owning several adapter outlets that weren't central screw secured, this item's screw is very useful in preventing adapter and attached charging items from too frequently getting knocked or pulled onto the floor. The 2 USB outlets and the surge protected 6 outlets provide substantial electrical item capacity in this electronic day and age. Well done. Can't comment yet on durability and longevity, but the adapter performs quite well from the start.
I used to use a common 6 outlet powestrip for my TV station. Although I choosed the shortest cord, I still have to put it on the ground. It makes trouble for floor cleaning, hide ashes under the strip and cord. I tried Powrui before and had good experiences. So I chose this product this time. It makes great job again. My TV station area is clean and neat now.
I love these wall plugs! These have helped clean up all of our charging bricks from cluttering up the area. We replaced all of them with these handy plus. The two USB plugs charge at 2.4 amps max, and that's enough for our cell phones. If you want super fast charging you should stick to the bulky bricks. For us this charges fast as I need it to. It charges my phone pretty quickly anyway. If you need more than 2.4 amps (few should) than go for a 3.1 amp model at almost twice the price.
Another bonus is we can set our devices onb top of these while they are charging as it had a built in holder on top.
