Supcase iPad 9.7 Case 2018 / 2017, Heavy Duty [Unicorn Beetle PRO Series] Full-body Rugged Protective Case with Built-in Screen Protector & Dual Layer Design for Apple iPad 9.7 inch 2017 / 2018(Black)

I am pleased with this purchase. It fits perfectly (more on this below) and does the job. Considering the price it is definitely a great value. The only negative is the built-in folding stand is a little flimsy and I can see it breaking at some point. Also the stand only works in the landscape position. With respect to sizing, the description is correct as far as it goes, it fits a 2017 9.7 inch iPad whatever that means. I learned the hard way that to be sure of the fit you need to do some serious research into the Kafkaesque manner that Apple names its iPad models. For example the iPad that this cover fits is referred to by Apple as simply the "9.7 inch iPad" or the "iPad released Early in 2017", or the "iPad 5th Generation" (which if you where counting in the real world the 5th Generation was really the iPad Air). It's official model number in the specs is "iPad6, 12", "EMC 3108" and "A 1823". (Yes 3 discrete model numbers referring to the same model). There are also Order Numbers like "MP2E2LL/A" which varies, in no predictable way, to identity color and storage size. (Do you get the feeling that the company that thinks every detail through is deliberately trying to make it difficult to compare models?) The A-1823 identifier however is something you can hang your hat on as it is printed on the back. (A 1822 for wifi only - same external dimensions). So to be really helpful the if the description of the models this cover fits includes references to model numbers as indicated on the back of the iPad; A 1822 & A 1823. Also the actual external dimensions should be included: 9.4" x 6.9" x 0.29". (This also happens to be the same dimensions of the iPad Air, although I don't know if the all the access slots for the controls are the same. Obviously I've lost my mind researching this and if you are a masochist too you can treat yourself to the endless fun to be found at EveryiPad.com).

I have been trusting this company with my devices for years and they hav never leet me down! This case is nice because it perfectly fits the iPad Air 2. All the ports and buttons are fully accessible. The flaps for the charging port and the headphone jack are very durable and do not feel cheap. On some other cases these flaps become worn out over time and on this case the flaps seem to be holding up very well! I love the combination of hard plastic and rubber on this case. It gives it a rugged feel and allow for greater protection. One point of concern that I have for this case is the built in stand... It seems not as durable as the rest of the case but it does work perfectly. That being said under normal use I have not ran into any problems. This is a wonderful case for the iPad and I highly recommend this case and this brand!

First, I already owned a Supcase for my iPhone 7, so I already knew the quality of their cases and how it provides a worry-free experience using the iPad and iPhone, no worries about scratching the surface, or no worries about letting someone else use it like you would if it didn't have a case that covered the sensitive iPad glass. As with any case, be sure you install it in a very clean room as particles of dust tends to get between the screen cover and the screen, locking it in for you to see forever. Also, be sure you don't put finger prints all over the inside of the plastic screen cover or on the glass of the iPad. Best to handle the iPad and Supcase while holding it with a large eyeglass cleaning cloth, which comes in handy to wipe things last second before snapping the case onto the iPad. It was a super tight fit and you have to be a little forceful, but it fits perfect.

As anyone who has one knows the new iPad 9.7 is slippery as snot without a case. Way too easy to drop, and if you do there will be damage. This case is the answer to those worries without breaking the bank. Easy to install and it worked with the Anker screen protector. Would have given it 5 stars but it frustrates me every time I go to plug the charger in. I end up having to look for the port. I know, very minor thing but frustrating none the less. All the other contact points and camera ports work fine. Get one if you value your iPad.

This case is NOT for the "faint" of heart!! I have purchased other Sup-cases - for other devices, and LOVE them!! Just wish they came for ALL devices, not just the "popular" kids!! I purchased this for my Ipad-5th gen - yes, it was a little hard to get on, BUT that IS the point!! It works like it is supposed to... I wanted a case I will NOT have to remove, and one that has a built-in screen protector, not one of those kind that you have to lay the "screen-protector" on top of the screen and HOPE you get alllll the damn bubbles out, or did it go on straight, etc...i wanted something similar to the cases I purchase(d) for my phones - and this is IT!!!
(I also have the Sup-case on my LG G7 ThinQ - and was the reason I looked high and low through the comments until I found someone had commented that the case had fit their IPAD 5th Gen - seeing as that is the only info i "know" about mine, other than serial#, and that's not listed in this seller's ad...at least not when I purchased!!) Good luck...I luv this case...The stand, not so much, it could be a little higher, but have found a way around that...would much rather have the protection the case provides, than the silly stand...the stand was and is NOT a "deal breaker" imo...

I got this case for my 2018 iPad (6th generation). The case fits on the iPad and even though the microphone on the back of the iPad is blocked, talking to Siri and/or recording video will not be bothered. It is not bulky as the Otterbox Defender but the case does protect the iPad from getting accidental scratches and minor drops. Screen protector is okay for what it is. The screen protector is plastic but doesn’t hinder the iPad screen. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OR VIDEO BEFORE PUTTING THE CASE ON because the case is vary snug and tight. Also, putting the case the way that Supcase instructs is the easiest way to put it on. The stand feature is Okay if you are not ruff with it. Overall, a really good case on a vary budget.

Those who have owned Supcase products in the past knew what to expect with this item. Gladly, this case doesn’t depart with what is conventional for Supcase. Their cases are well-constructed, durable and highly protective without being overly expensive. The kickstand is sturdy and gives a satisfying “click” when it’s closed which gives you audible confirmation it’s in place. Cutouts are precise, particularly around the cameras. When you lock your device in this case there’s a sense of security involved. The case gives this reassuring feel that it will protect your device from a fall should one occur.

There aren’t many negatives about this purchase. The aesthetics are a bit bland. It’s a square, boxy designed case with a square, boxy design language on the rear. Speaking of looks, my case shipped with some minor abrasions on the back. They were faint enough that I didn’t want to bother with a return and exchange but they were there nonetheless. There is a larger than necessary cutout for a mic at the top of my iPad (2018.) It doesn’t get in the way, it’s just a bit odd to have a port sized cutout for a tiny pinhole sized mic. Another curiousity of this case is there are textured accents that would aid in gripping the case if you’re holding your device in Portrait mode, but there are none on the sides that would rest in your hands if you held the case in landscape mode. The case isn’t at all slippery so additional grip isn’t neccesary I just assume most people use their iPads in landscape mode and would get more use out of additional support for gripping their device in landscape orientation vs portrait. I hate to take a full star away from Supcase for such minor issues which don’t impact the level of protection or lessen the feel and quality of the case. Still, with minor quality control issues, a bland design and some curious decisions on cutout size and grip placement, Supcase didn’t quite earn a perfect score.

So I have become a huge fan of Supcase cases for all of my apple products. I currently have three ipad cases and two for our iphones. These cases are very affordable and are very well made. They do hold up to being dropped. So far on two of our ipads I have had to remove the inner plastic protector because of the amount of scratches, but I replaced them with a tempered glass protector which works really well with these cases. My kids have been using the ipads and they have taken a beating, and held up for the most part. Our oldest case finally bit the dust after having it for approximately 4 years, which I would call a really good life expectancy. I would highly recommend all of the supcase products. I only gave this 4 stars because as much as the kickstand is nice, it's only limited to landscape and would be nice for the few times I need portrait view.

I’ve bought two of these now-one for my work iPad and one for my personal. I had no doubt I wanted to get it again for my personal iPad because it survived my pretty rough and tumble work environment. Although I’ve never gotten it dirty or spilled anything on it (t’s survived rolling around some tight turns in the car and falling off the dash board more than a couple times).

The stand is great as it can work on both sides horizontally. The intended way gives you a more straight up, 70 degrees angle and because of how it’s built, you can flip it 180 degrees and get a more 30 degree angle.

It’s not water proof so you can’t drop it in a body of water, but if you spill on top of the screen while it’s laying on a flat surface, or if you were to spill something next to it, you shouldn’t have to worry about, “what if,” because it’s mostly spill proof.

So I bought a new 5th gen iPad and I had been looking at UAG and their design. I like the quasi-military, Pansonic toughbook-like look of their designs. My first choice was to get either a new Surface Pro 6 in black or a iPad Pro 12 with a UAG case, but I couldn't justify the high cost of the hardware or the case, even though I thought it looked cool. So I get a deal on a refurb 5th gen iPad directly from Apple for like $240 and wanted a UAG type case.

This was the one that looked best for the part. Assembly was not as easy as like an Otterbox. The plastic frame took some doing to figure out how to inch it on without it popping back of. The diagram that they provide sort of helped. I was worried about the frame scratching something. After I got the frame on, the next issue was I forgot to remove the screen protector film. There are protective plastic wrapping on both the outside and inside of the main rubber housing. I like how they designed it to be part of the case vs. the usual try to stick it on the screen without bubbles or trapping some piece of dirt w/in the screen protector forever.
I really like the look. It does have that UAG, military look especially since I got it in black. The main downside, though I knew this already is there is no screen protector or flap that covers the screen so you have to be careful if you put it in a backpack to make sure items don't rest or apply pressure to the screen. The tilt of the screen is only one setting and a bit flimsy. Overall, very happy with the design, look, quality for less than half the price of a UAG version.
