This charger doubles as a storage device. A while back I went wild and bought all combinations of neon Joy-Cons. Keeping them charged and organized quickly became an issue. This charging dock takes care of both issues, and I can charge up 4 at a time on it. To keep the Joy-Cons from overcharging, I just unplug the dock (just in case) and keep it as a storage rack. 2 more Joy-Cons charge with the Switch, and the other 2 are stored with the Joy-Con Grip (not charging).
In the attached image you can see the 4 Joy-cons with the dock sitting next to the TV on the TV stand. It doesn't take a lot of space and keeps things tidy so I'm happy.
Unlike most of the other options, this is an "official" Nintendo product and it looks and feels like quality. I originally went with another product that has transparent bars that light up but it seemed flimsy and the bars are way too bright, enough to light up Cell Block B, and are on all the time regardless of if anything is plugged into them. The PowerA one gives you red when charging, green when 100% and off when you have nothing plugged in and the LEDs aren't bright enough to be noticeable.
I got this a few months ago, just a little while after the Switch came out, and it has been a lifesaver. At the time of purchasing this, there was only one way to charge Joycons, and that was having them attached to the Switch. This was fine unless you had two or more sets of Joycons. After purchasing this I was able to charge up to six Joycons at once, which makes the price well worth it. Since setting this up and following the easy instructions, I haven't had a battery problem at all. The reason I give this four stars though is that the cord is extremely short. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but most gamers have a complex set-up and short cords tend to cause problems. I had to do a lot of rearranging to fit this charger into my set-up, but it was well worth it.
It’s a good charger, and it works well. The build quality is excellent, and it does what it is supposed to. I removed a star because it does change from green status lights (fully charged JoyCons) to red (charging JoyCons) when you dock the Switch. This would only be a problem for those using the Switch dock as the usb power source, but it does worry me that the charger may be overcharging my JoyCons, which seems bad for the batteries. I am not the only reviewer to note this, but so far no problems, though.
I loved that this plugs in by USB to charge the Joy-Con controllers. Being able to charge four Joy-Cons at a time is excellent and makes it easier to always have enough charged controllers to have a large group of people play a game such as Mario Kart 8. Storing this to take it on the go can sometimes get a little annoying due to the way you have to wrap the cord very precisely on the bottom of the charger, but I have not had too much issue with that so far.

Description
The Joy-Con Charging Dock is the easiest solution for charging your Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Controllers. Charge 4 Joy-Con Controllers at a time for multiple players, or keep an extra pair charged for single players to switch out. Underside cable warp keeps USB cable tidy.
After having my kids and their cousins have to take turns using 2 controllers to play Mario Kart, we finally decided we needed 4 controllers. This also almost made it a necessity to have the capability of charging them all at once too.
Saw that Nintendo had a solution for this that looked perfect, ordered it, and has worked well for us. Plugs into USB, which is perfect for us as we have an Anker multiple USB port charger in our AV stand.
This charging doc makes sure there is always a pair of game controllers ready for use. It keeps an extra set of of controllers charging as you use the other set. When the front set must be recharged, the back pair is ready for continued playing. It's made a big difference in our house. No more game-breaks while waiting for the controllers to recharge! Nice.
Operation is simple. Each controller has its own light. It shows red when charging and green when ready for use. If connected to the Switch dock it will respond to the dock with its lights.
The base is weighted making it stable. The package includes a cable to plug it into the Switch dock unit for power.
With this accessory, there will always be a charged and ready-to-go controller. It's simple to set up and just as easy to use.
For sure a 5-star purchase!
This is a great product, even if you only have two Joy-Cons. It makes it so much easier to grab them if you primarily have your Switch in the dock and hooked up to a TV.
The weighted base is very nice, helps keep it in place.
The fact that it's USB-powered is very convenient, as it can plug right into the Switch dock's USB port.
The status LEDs are clearly visible, but not annoyingly bright. Just the right amount of subtlety.
It's a great addition to your Switch. Very nice to have Joy-Cons always charged and ready to go.
This thing is amazing. I keep it next to the dock and plugged into the dock so I can just put the controllers away on it all the time. There are LEDs on the top to indicate when it is done charging (green is done, red is still charging). Works great if you have 4 controllers and want to charge them all at the same time instead of through the Switch itself, or want to store the Switch separately / without the joy-cons.
I wanted to have a method for charging multiple joy-cons at once, so decided to purchase this charger. It’s super easy to use, connects easily via USB to the Switch, the controllers slide on and off super easily, and the LED lights are great for letting me know when a controller is charged. I haven’t had any issues with the controllers not charging or the lights not working.
Overall, I am really happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend this charger.
