I became addicted to tahini sauce when I purchased it through a specialty retail grocery store. They have since discontinued this sauce, and I had been searching for a recipe that I could substitute for the sauce that I used to buy.
I finally found one. When I first opened this product, I thought that it was really soupy. Also, if you follow the recipe for tahini dip on the label, you will probably be disappointed. First of all, you can't just "stir" this tahini. If you want to make tahini sauce, you must have either a blender (with a blender, it's tough getting it out of the bottom) or a food processor. I use a food processor. I also use the whole jar of tahini paste. I pour the whole jar into the food processor. You will need 5 cloves of garlic (yes), at least 2/3 cup of lemon juice, salt to taste and water to get it to the consistency that you want it. I process it to the consistency of a thick frosting. You will be enormously surprised at how much this paste expands! You will have a large bowl of tahini sauce. I store it overnight, recheck the flavor and add more lemon juice or salt or even water, and then stir. I then break it down into much smaller storage bowls and freeze it. It freezes just fine. This tahini paste has a nice nutty flavor, and I like it better than the lighter colored versions.
Great product! I sometimes have a hard time finding the unhulled sesame seed paste- This has a darker hue versus hulled sesame tahini- and a stronger flavor profile in my opinion. - Sometimes the unhulled tahini versions are a bit more bitter but I actually didn't find that to be the case with this brand. You know it's good tahini when you'll eat it straight out of the jar! :)
I like it prepared in the following way -
Combine 1/4 cup lemon juice and 2 cloves garlic, crushed in a bowl- set aside for a few minutes
Meanwhile, whip the tahini (1 1/2 cups raw tahini) with a stand mixer on high for a few minutes.
Strain the lemon juice - decrease mixer speed and add the juice and 1 teaspoon kosher salt.
Keep mixing for a few minutes.
Add 1 1/4 cups of ice water about a quarter cup at a time. Keep whipping for a few minutes.
If you like your tahini more watery- add some more water! :)
Makes about 3 cups . Stays in the refrigerator about 2 days.
Enjoy!
For a quick and delicious lunch, I dip raw or sauteed vegetables in tahini. It's such a satisfying lunch with the protein, fat, and vegetables, that it's a regular meal for me. Through the years I have sampled many brands, but this brand is superior to the rest. I wish I had discovered it sooner. The flavor is rich and dense, and the texture is perfect - not to thick, not to thin. For my homemade dip, I just add sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
As someone who usually makes my own tahini from scratch I wasn’t sure what to expect from the jarred kind. I made all sorts of recipes to give it a proper try.
I made a basic tahini dip, a sesame based frangipane , and tahini chocolate cookies so far .
The dip was pretty good, the consistency of the tahinini is easy to work with and combined well with other ingredients .
The baking is where this product really shines though. It gave my recipes a wonderful depth of flavor , while still remaining light on the tongue. It’s both nutty and earthy , but not too strong like many tahinis can be . Overall I’m a fan and will be very sad when my jars run out.
This tahini is sooo delicious!!!! I have tried many types and brands of tahini and this one is top 5 for sure.
It was thinner than I expected it to be - but not runny. Its flavorful and rich and smooth.
I works great for savory (water, lemon, salt, pepper, touch of garlic and dash of cumin) and sweet (mix with honey) dips; I use it instead of nut butter in many recipes or as a salad dressing (mixed with lemon and olive oil).

I’ve been eating tahini for many many years. I used to buy it by the 5 gallon tub. What i like the most about your tahini is its taste and its consistency. It is very smooth and tasty and goes down very well. What I like least is the plastic container. If it was glass it would be perfect that’s why instead of giving it five stars I’m going to give it four stars. Other than that it’s a great product.
It's delicious tahini--creamy, not bitter or sour, and doesn't even require stirring. I just shake the container and stick the open one in the fridge.
This tahini was absolutely delicious! From the moment you open the package you can tell the difference... every other brand I’ve bought in the past had oil on top of the package and whatever paste as underneath was caked and difficult to mix. This tahini was smooth and buttery and didn’t require any mixing. It has a great fresh aroma and taste that really came out in the tahini dip we made. You now have a loyal customer!
Was super excited to try this product and waited eagerly for it to arrive.
One thing to note ... this is whole seed tahini ... and 100% of that, nothing else added at all ... so basically what I'm saying is that its not the typical store bought tahini dip (naturally I didn't know this and was expecting it to be that for dipping / spreading on bread.) Needless to say, I was a bit surprised by the bitter taste and thought something was off, but then realized this is actually better... much better... this stuff, aside from spreading it on bread (which some are doing, but way too bitter for me), its great to add into salad dressings, or any protein snack / baked goods / anything you'd think to add in sesame seeds just for that extra bit of nutrition without the bulk. Oh and there is nothing to stir, thats always a plus.
Oh and one more bonus, I really like the jar. Its plastic so it doesn't weigh a ton and closes pretty secure.
I have tried 4 different brands of Tahini offered by Amazon, and this is the best. Its taste and texture are second to none. Best of all, there was so little oil separation that I didn't have to stir it.
