These things are excellent. I have one of the larger Kasa cams in the mouse (KC120) and it works great. Clear video, good audio, two way talking and night vision. And it syncs up perfectly with Google Home, which I use to run our smart home. When I saw the Kasa Spot cams and Kasa went as fair as to email me a 20% off coupon, I jumped on them. With the coupon they came out to $40 each so I pickup and two and put them in our daughters room and our nursery, as we're expecting in July.
I honestly can't notice a difference in the quality and performance of the bigger model, which cost about $80 at the time of this review. We know have 3 Kasa cams and numerous Kasa smart plugs throughout the house and have not had any issues integrating them into our Google Home applications and we now use them on a daily basis with voice commands.
I'm wishing I had picked up 4 or 5 of them! A++
I already have a couple of Kasa plugs, and this integrated seamlessly into the app with the other products. I'm not paying for a monthly subscription, but I have an alert set up and you can view the videos and download them. I forget how long the videos are kept with the free subscription. The video is crisp and clear and the sound quality is good.
The only negative I encountered during my first week of use is that the camera is, at times, sensitive to changes in room lighting. On one mostly cloudy day, when we also left our blinds open, we were alerted every few minutes for several hours. When I watched the video clips, however, all I saw was the window getting brighter and darker with changes in the sun.
Now, personally, for the price and how well the camera performs otherwise, this isn't a big issue for me. And, in about 8 days, it only happened the one day, when we also left the blinds open, so the changes in lighting were more dramatic than on previous days.
Overall, very pleased and I considered it a fantastic value!
I didn’t really need this inside camera but bought it out of curiosity because I like the Kasa app and the various bulbs, switches and plugs I’ve made into a nice system. This camera is lightweight, good looking and quite small. The USB cord is long enough for most uses and the camera flawlessly hooked up to my Kasa app on my iPhone and iPad. The connection to Amazon’s Alexa app was also easy. The video picture is very clear and has quite a wide angle for excellent coverage of my front room and front door. The wide view is a little distorted but that is to be expected and I found it reasonable for its purpose. I don’t use the alarm motion feature but I did try it and it works well. The color video and night vision also are very good. In summary, I like Kasa and will probably be buying a couple Kasa outdoor cameras in th future, once I figure out how to move an electrical outlet to where I will need it.
We have outside motion detection cameras and I wanted to add an indoor one but didn't want to pay the $179 for the same system so thought I would give this a try. I already have their smart plugs and love them so was hoping for the same quality. Our dog recently had surgery and we needed to keep an eye on him when we are not home. I am so pleased with this, the picture quality is fantastic, the picture I have included shows the night vision and the ability to talk/listen. The second picture shows the view with a light on. I will more than like be purchasing more of these!
2 things- If you are home, shut the camera off or you will have houndreds of videos taken and you will need to delete them. 2. Set timing for when Kasa camera will be on that way you will not have to go through the manual deletion process. 3. Set camera time when you will not be home, as those are the videos that could become most important. I do not know how to connect the Kasa to Alexa show to show what is happening with motion on my Echo and Tech help is not helpful. I sleep upstairs and need to be able to be awaken if this is motion or sound in the area of position of the camera.
My plan is to get more of these but until I can get everything effectively the way I need to protect my house, I will need to wait so I can see what is going on in the middle of the night downstairs. The night vision is awesome and it works on my phone great. However, if left on all day, it drains the battery fast. I recommend this item, however, you will or should look up how to use it. I have other Kasa products that run on TP-Link and I haven't any trouble. It is a matter of getting used to it. I definitely would recommend especially if you live alone or vacation a lot.

This tiny product was easy to set up and works very well. Excellent value for its price. We are happy with our purchase.
The picture quality is great, even in low/no light.
The microphone is extremely sensitive. The app notifies us whenever our baby makes a noise even in another part of the house (despite having set the sensitivity to the lowest of three sensitivity settings). We would like to see a sensitivity scale for audio similar to the 0-10 scale for video.
The only other issue is with live streaming. We had hoped to use the camera as a baby monitor. However, when live streaming on iPhone/iPad, the screen eventually shuts off if we do not tap the screen regularly. Ideally, the app should treat live streaming like watching a video/movie on other apps (cf. Netflix) that block the power-saving feature of the 'phone. This should be an easy tweak in a future app update.
The only other smart camera I have is the Nest Hello so my experience is somewhat limited. The two way audio is slow to react. You have to hold the button down while talking. And you can't hear the other person while talking or for another 3 seconds after releasing the talk button. It makes it difficult to have any sort of conversation through the camera. The Nest Hello (I know it's a video doorbell not a camera) doesn't have this lag and conversations are much easier. Other than that, everything else performs as expected.
I have seen several different cameras in this category, and there is absolute itching wrong with this camera. Yes, the cloud service costs more money, but you do not NEED the cloud service. For fifty bucks, this compact, two-way audio, night bison equipped camera is fantastic. If you want to produce a Hollywood movie or plan on being robbed on a daily basis, then perhaps you need to pass on this camera. Otherwise, it’s an easy “yes” to this purchase.
Love that they are 1080P resolution. Very clear pictures that you can zoom in on. Easy to set up with Kasa iphone app. I wish they had a desktop app like the Arlo cameras do. Great alerts and love the two-way communication. Great buy and would recommend.
PICTURE QUALITY IS QUITE GOOD. I AM STILL LEARNING ABOUT THIS CAMERA...WISH THE "NOTIFICATIONS" COULD BE REDUCED....RIGHT NOW IT'S LIMITED TO ONE NOTIFICATION EVERY FIVE MINUTES. WISH THAT COULD BE ONE NOTIFICATION EVERY 15 MINUTES OR SO. OTHER THAN THAT...THIS PRODUCT WORKS WELL; IS EASY TO ADD TO MY EXISTING KASA APP. AT THIS TIME, I THINK THIS PRODUCT WILL WORK OUT FINE.
